Martyn shows you what we are doing to clean up our home and try to salvage the house. I show you footage inside and outside of the house and also the only road in through the remaining floods.

Glad to see your wife finally smiling. Women tend to break down global tasks into smaller tasks and extract joy from completing those small tasks. Men tend to see the bigger picture and get depressed over that. That’s why we best function in tandem. Trust your wife in smaller tasks, that will give you hope and incentive to overcome the more global and strategic ones.

Мартин добрый вечер.Кроме посуды ничего не отмывайте,никакие диваны,стулья,шкафы и прочее.Пострадавших много,И комиссия по утрате имущества и жилья будет оценивать по минимуму☝У нас однажды квартиру затопило,так комиссия буквально ходила с рулеткой,пол двери разбухло и половино оклада дверного,так они и посчитали по половине ущерба,ну я же не буду половину двери менять🤔🙄Про вещи сказали можно выстирать,хотя водой из батареи затопило,с 3-го до 1-го этажа,мы на 2-ом.Про обои оценили только те на которых разводы остались их поменять,но у меня же естественно не было таких обоев,да и после потопа у них оттенок изменился😥Плюнули мы на эту комиссию,насчитали они нам 3 копейки,больше их не пускали и делали всё за свой счёт.Так что с уборкой не спешите,они возможно специально тянут с выплатами,чтоб люди психанули и всё прибрали и отмыли то что можно,а они придут и скажут : - Ну видите как всё хорошо сохранилось и насчитают 3 коп.А по идее должны уже произвести выплаты за дом в котором не возможно будет проживать и по потере имущества,и помните плесень невозможно чем либо убрать,она будет прорастать☝топило же не дистилированной водой🙄😥Удачи вам с супругой,всё это вынести и выдержать,рассмотрите переезд в другой регион,без больших рек❤
He/she is right Martyn. It's important you video record any interactions with any assessors. It's common to video interactions in Russia as proof of what was said and who said it.

It's really good to see that the water has receded so much. Please be careful with the mould. It will be on items you can see but it will also be inside your walls. Unfortunately you won't notice problems with the floors until they start to dry out. You really don't want to let the mud go down your drains, it will plug it up and cause another headache. Waiting for the house to be inspected is good advice. Good luck.
I like to watch your updates, the government will help you out of the mess that is their duty. Hope that the compensation is fair sufficient to go ahead with the full renovation. Women are strong , they see everything positively. God's blessings are with your good family.

please don't forget that high waters will come againg this place in 20-25 years, maybe lower, maybe higher, but this is kind of a cycle thing.
Only you can decide if the house is worth saving. Trust no one.
But a very good specialist is needed.

Honestly, the outside does not look bad at all. You can get the brakes pointed later on the damage to the foundation is not bad and a couple of bricks decorate that’s nothing. Your house looks fairly well on the outside and it will be sure for many many years to come.

I hope you can get some compensation to help you repair what needs to be done to fix your home.
There's got to be a forum on the internet with specialists in cleaning up flood damage that will give you expert advice on clean up. I would look for something like that so you can ask them when you run into problems.

In Florida if you started repairs (and cleaning) BEFORE a loss adjuster assesses the damage to your home, the cost will be denied for reimbursement. I am not sure who you are listening to, and why you are so persistent in it cleaning up, but obviously whoever advises you doesn't know what they are talking about.
I commented on that a few days ago. I am a resident of Florida, we are not allowed to touch anything after the disaster, hurricane, flood, tornado or fire, before FEMA does its job first and then the insurance companies' go through with assessment Maybe it's different in Russia?

@@RussianTravels Good decision to find a new home. I can only donate a small sum and only via GoFundMe, but don’t want to pay a “tip” , even few $, that goes to someone else. I also want to remain anonymous. As you know any payment from the West or the US is tracked if it goes to Russia.

Really feeling sad for you and all the affected communities. It's a big hit and hope there will be some kind of support.
I understand it's a tough decision for you. Even if you will manage to get things fixed it probably won't be the same as it was built new.
I would suggest to consult with a professional constructor what can be done in this case. May be it will be easier to build a new house from scratch then try to salvage it.

Some notes on what I've seen in this video (though, maybe I'll add something later):
1. Do you have a water well IN the house - the place just under the red bucket? It's absolutely ridiculous! Water well have to be OUTSIDE the house and be able in case of malfunction to be managed by special heavy machinery! In your case it is just a "single use" water well.
2. As I've already read from the thread all metal hinges and similar stuff could be salvaged - they all are metal ones. They cost alot.
3. Nearly all water purification equipment could be salvaged - just wash-disinfect-wash.
4. As for a washing machine - of course it doesn't work. BUT it doesn't mean that it doesn't work after getting some maintenance. Though, the costs of such maintenance could be higher than the costs of the brand new one.
5. All sinks, bath, toilet, shower accessories, all faucets could be salvaged with no problem - they deal with dirty water on a daily basis :)
6. It is very strange that you bought a high-pressure washer BUT at the same time didn't buy a wet vacuum. It is a must here!
7. All wall heaters will be OK.
8. All gas related stuff must to go - gas company doesn't allow these equipment to be running again. Well, actually it might allow, but will require to get a certificate from the producer, that all these stuff is OK and working safely. So, the whole process could have no sense from the costs implied perspective.
9. That could be odd, but all electrical sockets, light switches could be salvaged - just unplug (live wire MUST be OFF), wash thoroughly, disinfect, wash again and dry. But is fully depends on the cost of such socket. If it is RUB 200 for each one - it isn't worth it but if it costs RUB 1000 for each - it could be worth it.

Но даже если и примут какие то меры, нет уверенности, что это не повториться через 20, 40 лет. А там уже будет другой возраст и будет ли сил опять восстанавливать и переживать тоже самое. Мне очень грустно от всего, что я вижу. Сил вам и терпения.

Dustpan and bush the water into buckets then use old towels or old sheets to get that last residue out. You may even chose to cut through the sill of the doorframe into the garage just to give you an outlet from the main house. It will be months before you see an assessor. Ask them if your video footage is of any use to them as it is a great, time stamped, record of the damage done. I would be interested to know what your neighbours are thinking of doing… are they going to stay or do they intend to go. Videos of your house hunt would also be interesting. I love your videos as they show me what it is actually like to live in Russia and not just what the western governments want us to believe.

Регулятор давления у вас механический (на системе водоснабжения) там нечему ломаться снять крышку и промыть контакты спиртом или очистителем.
Все инструменты где используются электромоторы придется в основном выкинуть (но если разбираетесь в технике то можно промыть моторы высушить, электро щетки мотора просушить или заменить и будет работать)
Комиссии по оценке уже работают на днях к вам придут (телефон для связи с вами можно на дверях оставить). но обычно они сами сообщают о приходе (но у вас дом застрахован поэтому придется ждать комиссию от страховщика, а они в отличии от государственных комиссий работают медленно)
Дом или квартиру можно арендовать за счет государства на 3-6 месяцев (подать заявление в администрацию что нуждаетесь в жилье) У властей есть резервный фонд жилья на такие случаи, но это уже зависит от местных властей (деньги на это выделяют местные власти, но они могут и отказать). Но попробовать все таки стоит моим соседям выделяли после затопления и они жили около года пока делали ремонт.
Не все так ужасно, гипсакартона у вас нет на стенах и это просто хорошо (как просохнут стены все за 2-3 дня привести в порядок можно)
Как писал ранее первым делом ванна туалет и кухня потом все остальное
Грязь с пола убирается специальными швабрами на основе микрофибры (мойкой лучше паркетный пол не мыть толку ноль, как снимите паркет или ламинат тогда мыть надо)
Для мойки высокого давления можно купить пластмассовую бочку для дезинфекционного раствора (либо использовать ванну из ванны уже брать раствор, в мойке свой насос есть её не обязательно водопровод) чистая вода не убьет плесень и микробы

Are you concerned about mold inside the walls? The local flood here did so much internal damage that wall had to be removed to get the mold out.

I love how positive everyone is. Did I see your neighbour just casually having a bbq? I'm sure after the government assessments, everything will be alright. It's hard to imagine that all these homes were all underwater, not that long ago.

Are you sure that the fine vertical crack through some of the darker brickwork was not there before the flooding? It seems to be associated with a pre-existing hole below in an orange brick below. The surveyor is likely to ask this. Similarly the cluster of fine cracks a few feet away in what looks to be a formed concrete plinth below the orange bricks.
The two orange brick courses above and below the damp proof layer look different, rather crazed and quite decayed, and the mortar around them looks very ragged. When I noticed them in one of your other videos I took them for a couple of courses of engineering brick. They certainly aren't that. The one with the pipe going through has spalled, exposing a core that does not look very uniform, and the rest look to be on the way. It is hard to see why apparently poorer bricks were used in this sensitive location.
If they need replacement or repair, you might have a claim against the supplier or developer if they are indeed sub-standard.
Yes I never liked the bricks at the bottom even the pillar at the front it didn’t seem solid enough. But was assured was the correct stronger brick. Also the cracks weren’t there before in the bricks by the window as at the top they are a lot further to the right away from where the pipe comes out.
Trust me, you don’t wanna leave anything behind that had all that water in there you don’t want a short to happen somewhere in the wires later and have mould grow again. Do you want to get rid of as much stuff as possible and especially that floor

Реле давления для водопровода: снимите крышку (один винт), обильно обработайте смазкой типа WD40. Там чистая механика - рычаг с пружинами и регулировочными винтами. Покачайте рычажный механизм и все заработает.
Thanks for this but all the electrics are off. It is wired into the house circuit. We could fix power from the generator.
Martyn it's good in first part of video that water has gone of gardens roads now trucks can get in to take all destroyed stuff away. Once you get assessed by government and get building assessor if it is structural OK. Then behind all the walls will be lots of water that will quickly go mouldy . Ie plasterboard insulation all need to be demolished all internal wood all the parqeflooring needs to be lifted put in skips . I know you think you can save things by cleaning them pots pans cutlery plates cup that's about it that filter needs to come of because it you leave it it will clog up needs rinsed out get silt out dont waste time trying to clean the foors they need ripped up they are severe contamination they won't be recovered. The longer all this stuff windows doors all wood furniture door frames bath sink toilet bed wardrobes and floors and walls ie plasterboard insulation stay huge build up of dangerous mould get it torn out so foundation outerbrick wall will dry . I could not live there as you are far to close to the big river and all the houses on drone footage are built on flood plane
I think the community should’ve opened one of the gates from the gated community so it’s easier for you guys to come in from the side instead of driving through all that water

It’s not going to be off for you guys, and then you make it just as good as it was. Maybe not right away maybe not all at once you will be able to buy the things that you had, but you will be living there again and you are made great memories in that home. Don’t worry, you might have to hire somebody to take out one of the door jams so all the stuff can float out so that you could power wash all the inside because renting a place To live, it’s gonna be expensive because remember you’re not the only one left without a house I whole area is it going to be left with people that have a place to stay and it’s going to be very expensive to find something good and with a fair price
Не включайте холодильник. Сначала нужно открыть блок электроники и долго-долго сушить. А лучше со специалистом заменить электронику на рабочую, включить, а потом думать, что делать со своей. Но вот велосипеды нужно было полностью разобрать в первый же день, тогда бы они были рабочие, а теперь в них ржавчина растёт.
Это нелегко. Необходимо качественно просушить каждый дюйм в доме, чтобы избежать возникновение плесени. С другой стороны, если вы пережили потоп, то Жизнь ничем не сможет вас сломать и удивить.
Вы не смотрели фильм Лунгина "Остров" посмотрите с Юлей. Там есть такие моменты -вам понравится.Но я сама понимаю,что мы все привязываемся к вещам.к месту..А у вас дети,втройне тяжелее.
Конечно смотрели. Много раз. Просто это второй дом за последние 1,5 года, который мы «теряем». Первый добровольно, сейчас вынуждено.

You really have to be careful how much you do before the assessors visit.
Yes we are being careful as we can be. We have to live some things out to stop the mould. We have video evidence of everything.
Try not to overdo yourself, both physically and mentally.
Yes trying to stay mentally ok. We are strong though.
Yes you can can wait for government assessment, BUT at least don't leave the muddy water on the floors. There is probably a better cahnce to save the floors than to get gpvernment compensation for them, to be honest. Btw, the wooden parts of the doors and the kitchen are not salvagable, but the metallic parts may be are? all these door knobs and mechanisms...they are also quite expensive.

Yes correct. We have only taken the door frames off as the mould was very bad there. Everything else we have left. We also have video evidence of what the house was like.

Если дом застрахован - вызывайте оценщиков от страховой компании + дополнительных независимых, потом госструктуры примут эти оценки.
В любом случае не стоит ожидать, что гос. компенсация будет высока(((

По видео плохо видно, но трещины не выглядят, как что-то критичное и непоправимое. Конечно, не зная тип фундамента и его "пирог", что-то сказать сложно. То, что вода уходит под фундаментную плиту, не говорит, о том, что с фундаментом есть проблема. Если фундамент - заглубленная лента с обратной засыпкой или сваи, то проблем быть не должно. Если обычная плита на песчанногравийной подушке, то могут быть проблемы из-за вымывания песка и гравия из под плиты с образованием полостей.
Я бы в любом случае снимал напольное покрытие, мыть керхером нет смысла, поставил осушители, бытовые хотя бы 2 штуки (30-40 литров в сутки каждый), поставил в одну комнату, закрыл окна, дверной проем и начинал сушить дом, по комнатам.

Мне кажется, вы поторпилились с покупкой моющего агрегата… не факт, что он вам понадобится, все будет зависеть от вердикта оценщиков и специалистов…пригоден ли этот дом для жизни…Может быть, имеет смысл нанять независимого эксперта для оценки пригодности дома для проживания, как это делают при ДТП. Вобщем, не торопитесь ничего делать с домом, дождитесь комиссию.
Absolutely right. We only wanted to clean the things we wanted to take with us. Nothing else. We have left the house as it is until the commissioner comes. We took the doors and door frames off to stop the mould as the mould was the worst there.

Not used to hard work. You have no idea. I am very handy. I put the flooring down by myself. I have ripped most of the items out of myself. Please do not judge me.
