    🌻 ABOUT COSMOPOLITAN CORNBREAD 🌻
    In 2016 my husband and I retired from active duty army family life and planted roots in Alabama. We started a homestead from scratch, and shared that journey here on UA-cam. In 2022 we answered the call to the mountains of Arkansas, where we are starting that journey once again.
    I post videos to encourage families to embrace growing food, cooking real food and living a simpler, slower, faith-filled life. I am a whole bible believer, and share my passions for the home and the Father.

    Oh my gosh, this is perfect timing. I have never seen apple cider jelly. My Amish friends and I got apple drops from our local orchard and took them to a friend who has a cider press. We got a lot of cider. I was wondering what to do with so much apple cider. I am anxious to try this recipe. I will be making some for gifts. Thanks for sharing your recipe. 😊

    I made apple cider jelly last fall and it was a big hit with my family at Christmas. Although, mine was more of a jam since the orchard still had some apple solids in the cider, but it was crazy delicious.

    I just finished making this and it is delicious! (Of course I had to lick the spoon before throwing it in the dish water😅). It went together really fast and it set up nicely. I used empty teabags that I already had that I bought from Amazon instead of cheesecloth. I have a gazillion of them that I bought for brewing tea. I’ll be making more of this jelly for Christmas gifts! Thank you for another great video!

    Ty for this recipe Ive never seen jelly done My grandmas made jelly and preserves but I was never around Probably because having small children around may have been hazardous My great uncle was making jelly after my aunt passed and had an accident with hot wax As a senior I believe I can do this as a small batch with a steam canner with appropriate precautions ❤😊

      Ahh, yes, I remember the paraffin wax tops. My grandmother canned like that for ages. It was unsafe for many reasons. I hope your uncle recovered.

    I make all kinds of jelly but never tried apple cider jelly. Where do you get your low sugar pectin, can you use it for all jellies

    • @CosmopolitanCornbread
      @CosmopolitanCornbread  9 місяців тому

      I get it at the grocery store where they sell the canning supplies. The low sugar pectin is designed for recipes with less sugar than typical jellies/jams. :)

      I remove the rings and the lift the whole jar by the lid and give it a shake. If the lids stays firmly attached, we're good to go :)

    Can you double stack in a steam canner?

    • @CosmopolitanCornbread
      @CosmopolitanCornbread  9 місяців тому +1

      No. Steam canners like this are not to be double stacked. For large batches, I still use the good old hot water bath canner :)
