- part 6 of our best-dress series! green is my favorite color so i had a bit of trouble narrowing this down, hence how long this is in comparison to others in this series 😅 just like in the other videos this list is arranged in no particular order and were chosen for different criteria like being iconic/memorable, dresses i would wear if i could, and outfits that were just brilliant decisions on the costume designer's part. obviously this is just my opinion.

Keira Knightley's dress in atonement is what im waiting for *heart eyes*
Yep... And the flow while shes walking 😤👌🥺🥺🥺
I just searched it up and I must say that dress is iconic. Not in the sense that 'omg slay queen' but 'elegance and grace were symbolized here.' Astonishing.
So gorgeous
The infamous bias cut dress.
This video helped me remember I was obsessed with that dress :O
y’all forgot the most iconic green dress in cinematic history
Fiona’s green dress from Shrek
Oh my god yesss
you're so right
Yes
There's always a comment like this to mention some cartoon or animation
eh
the atonement dress that keira knightley wore is just *chef's kiss*
What's that mean?
I heard that phrase tossed around but I dunno.
@@danielbergonzi7319 you know when chef’s are cooking it movies and whatnot. They taste the food then kiss their fingers because it was so good. So saying something is chef’s kiss means it was great.
@@claireindigo1200 that's sounds too unhygienic to be a real thing
@@danielbergonzi7319 I can’t really change that if you don’t believe me, google it.
@@claireindigo1200 LLOOL not them being serious over the phrase "chefs kiss"
The live action Cinderella was so full of beautiful dresses and outfits. It felt like the put so much effort into that movie and ended up one of my favorites of all time (and this is even knowing some of the issues of these new live action movies).
As much as I'm a romantic at heart, and sat googly eyes at the dance at the ball, the evil step mother dresses are what I want in my wardrobe. I want to be like her in fashion.
Edit: Just saw the new video covering Cate Blanchett's outfits in Cinderella. They're so gorgeous. 💚💚💚
The outfits, the visuals and the acting was great! But they kind of lost the essence of the first story.
Celetara YES. I thought this live-action wouldn’t be anything compared to the classic. But when they cast lily Collins as Cinderella and I saw the first costumes, I knew I was gonna enjoy this. The Cinderella dress was in no way historically accurate, but it captured the same essence of the one in the classic. Which is something disney should really do more in there new live-action films.
I personally love the movie myself, I like how it kept Cinderella still Cinderella while making her a new character at the same time. I know it's not the same as the original but I understand it's supposed to be a different take on the story. I love it very much, it's in my top 5 for sure.
@@totallycrazystudios1801 honestly that's why I like it more than a lot of the other live-action adaptations. Most of them feel like they're just trying to recreate the original with maybe a few updates to appeal to modern audiences, but they mainly feel so shallow to me without a true vision behind them. Cinderella feels just different where it felt like they were genuinely reimagining the tale. They honor the original but are willing to take more of a different approach to tell the story they had in mind. It just feels like it had deeper intentions than being just a cash grab which most of the others come off as

Ikr. Such a wonderful movie.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 love it!!! I feel like green is such an underrated color. I remember I told everyone my prom dress is going to be lime green and everyone made fun of it until I showed up and won best prom dress that night 😝
Funny that you got green in your no icon.
Lime green on dark skin looks sTUNNING
lucky girl, lime green looks ugly on me, my skin is too white for a dress like that but it is a very nice color and congratulations on winning the best prom dress :D
Omg same! My dress was a emerald green and everyone kind of looked at me like it was weird but I showed up at prom and was crowned queen of the night
green and yellow look absolutely stunning on darker skin
this speaks to me as a redhead, green is a GORGEOUS color so underrated
Redheads in green = instant win.
It's such a weird phenomenon, but out of all complementary colours, red and green go together the most. They don't look weird together at all. Imagine if the signature colours of Christmas were yellow and purple. Imagine if Poison Ivy has orange and blue instead of red and green as her main calling card. How strange that would be
Thank you for including green outfits from Bollywood movies. Really appreciate it. ❤
Ikr!! One of the many reasons I love this channel is because it's so inclusive
I watch that scene about every week. O love that song
From devdas.
I don't understand most Bollywood movies since I only speak English. But I to watch them. They are to visually stunning.
The lehenga from Jodha Akbar is so beautiful.
Forget it the costume design throughout that film is impeccable.
The costume design of Cinderella is so underrated
no it wasnt they were nominated for an oscar for achievement in costume design!!
@@chercher304 yeah you're right like I know people know how great it is but I don't think that it's being talked about enough when people are talking about movies with great costume design. does this make any sense???
you have such impeccable taste! the music, the outfits, the wide range of movies (classic, foreign, modern), and the overall vibes! major props to you!!
@@evapaiz596 i totally agree! no matter if you have to read subtitles or simply pay a little more attention to the story, a good movie is a good movie.
Natalie’s dress in The Other Boleyn Girl is iconic.
I was waiting for that one, the shade is to die for.
Ojo Momoko totally!
too bad the movie sucked hard, but the dress is lovely
That's padme isn't it?
@@graphiquejack I love that movie
I always think of green and yellow as the most difficult colors to pull off in an outfit. The fact that there's so many beautiful green dresses is astouding and almost confusing to me
Hmm I wouldn't say green is that difficult, it comes with so many different shades and tones, you can easily make a strong statement and flattering dress with it for anyone. Try orange, that's a really hard one...
yellow and pink are my worst colors 😰
not to brag but yellow is my fucking color!! i love it
I love the darker green dress like atonement. I have really fair skin and when I was in high school wanted a beautiful dark green dress to wear to prom but couldn’t find one. Sadly just went with a red dress. My favorite color is green, makes me happy to see all these beautiful dresses.
I absolutely love wearing green and I love the colour yellow too but I always look sickly when I wear it 😧
Madhuri Dixit's dress in Devdas is so beautiful and iconic... Glad that you put it here 💚
Ikr!! One of the many reasons I love this channel is that it's so inclusive
I’m just quietly sitting here, waiting for Scarlett O’Hara’s curtain dress... I don’t think I’ll be disappointed edit: my wishes came true!
It's the most iconic green dress for me. I just watched the GWTW video and was pretty confident it was going to be on the list.
Video about green in cinema cannot be without Scarlett's dresses, otherwise that's a nonsense.
Where?
@@endeanew starting from 7:17 there are several dresses from this movie
Don't forget Carol Burnett's version of the dress (courtesy of Bob Mackie) that included the curtain rod!
Let's be real, we're all here for Keira's green dress in Atonement. That library scene... *fans self*
Did anyone saw the wicked witch of the east from oz the great and powerful?
no
Nopeeeee
no. I'm here for Cyd Charisse's green from Singing in the Rain.
I love green. People don't wear enough green. It's such a regal color. But depending on the tone, green can give off different air. It can be playful, childish, powerful, or even mysterious. It has a great range depending on how you work with it.
I know we already did the whole Belle dress thing. But can you review the clothing design of the 2014 Beauty and the Beast movie (French-German version). I would love to hear what is your view on the movie's design choices.
Green is so gorgeous and underrated. Loved this!
I NEED PURPLE, OR VIOLET, OR HOWEVER YOU CALL IT, I JUST NEED IT AAAAAAA
Same there's so many stunning purple pieces in cinema
AND BLUEEEEE
@@oskar3319 indeed!!!
@@cheeseboogar omg yes what a beautiful one!!!!!
That should include Mal's dress in descendant, it was such a beautiful dress!
i’m crying, *sky high* is in here 🥺
also black panther yessss
I was just waiting on Isabella’s dress from the Lizzie McGuire Movie. You never fail me
Oh early. Love the burlesque dress, I also like how the stepmother from Cinderella’s green dresses because they only come up in important moments when her greed steals the show.
I literally stopped what I was doing to come see this. Lately I've been liking the color green quite a lot so I was so excited to see this beautiful dresses
You included Sissi😭😭
This makes my austrian heart beat at a higher rate❤️
Thank you so much for always appreciating movies and their costume designes all over the world
Green makes itself so extra dramatic when it comes to clothing in costume dramas. The other Boelyn girl, Atonement, and Portrait of a lady on fire being my favorites :3
omg hahaha putting the burlesque one first, it's def unforgettable. are you working on blue now? the blue dress deepika padukone wears during one of the songs in Om Shanti Om is just so iconic to me
Another blue Deepika gown I Like is during Happy New Year when they sing 'India waale' in the Hotel. I dream of wearing this one day as Well, it is Just jaw dropping.
The pink one when we first see her!! Actually pretty much anything deepika padukone wears 😂😂
@@potternutmania hard Not to be iconic when you're Deepika padukone.
madhuri is so epic!! that costume weighed over 40 pounds and she had to dance a kathak in it!! amazing woman!! and kiera knightley's atonement dress will forever be iconic!! it always stayed in my mind!!
IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, so glad you included that masterpiece
My favourites are Atonement, House of Flying Daggers, Devil wears Prada and The Handmaiden, I'm really glad you included Hideko's green outfit! Also it was a pleasant surprise to see bollywood movies included
Green is such an amazing color, man. I’m watching this vid since I need some inspiration for one of my ocs’ attires. Great video as always!
I swear green is such a vintage vibe
YES I love to see the green dress from Sky High finally getting some love!!!
I'm so glad Sissi also made it on this list. I rewatched all of those movies just for the costume design since I remembered how pretty all of those dresses were. Wish we could still walk around like that somedays. 😊💚✨
I’m so happy you put in House of Flying Daggers! It is so beautiful, and the scene in the bamboo thicket was one of my favourites!
The green dresses in Burlesque and Atonement are everything. I don't think there was a single woman who watched any of those films and did not feel the desire to wear them.
I was waiting for Arwen’s coronation dress! Such a lovely shade of green 😍 also atonement, sky high, and burlesque are all so beautiful 💚
Green is such a beautiful colour, I adore all of these dresses!
just waiting for the inevitable "tHesE aReN't evEn GreeN" and "thAt's NoT a dReSs" comments 😇
Don't worry about those comments, you do so much research and everything on this list (and your previous videos about the dresses color) is amazing!
People gonna talk. IT doesn't matter, your doing an amazing job 💕🙌
My fave colour is green too!! I never see it get any appreciation!
You used baps, how did you finally find your perfect copy
@@tecforever1087 they're just screenshots/gifs 😭 i still haven't found a version i can edit for a full video~
That green dress in Atonement is my absolute fave!
I like seeing Burlesque as no 1. That dress definitely deserves it.
I watched "Nocturnal Animals" for the first time a few days ago. That green dress burned a hole in my soul... a tiny one, but it's there, now.
I am so happy you included Arwen's dress :)))))
Devdas and Atonement and definitely my favourites. Both took my breath away. Michelle Pfieffer wears one too in Scarface 😍
One gorgeous green dress I remember is one that Marilyn Monroe wore in River of No Return.
I think the reason why green dress is so hard to pull off is because it gives so much power to its wearer and not everyone has the capability of receiving that power
The fact that Devdas is here is so important. Love that you added it
Keira Knightley's green dress in Atonement is timeless.
I love how the step mother in cinderella is always looking classy and pretty and then having her daughters look lil clowns...iconic
keira knightley is just so ... like i don't even have words for her
Yessss that Devdas outfit: iconic 👏
I think after that my favourite has to be Atonement 😻💚
Dark City has to be one of the most criminally underrated movies of all time.
Cant wait for you channel to blow up 😭 everyone needs to see the effort you put in to your videos ❤
In the Belle of NY..that's literally me when I get dressed in the morning and no one is around🤣🤣..Also, I always loved that Casino Royale dress. It's something I could really see myself wearing.
cate might’ve been a villain in cinderella but she was still so regal & gorgeous
GREEN!!! My favorite color ever! I am addicted!
Damn I wish there was a clip of the atonement dress moving absolutely stunning and hypnotizing
Not one, not two, but THREE of the most iconic Bollywood looks from the last 25 years? We stan.
oh yes thank you for doing green its my favourite colour!
I can't believe you included la belle et la bete!!! Literally my favorite costumes of all time.
So glad you included Nicole Kidman’s dress in Practical Magic!! That movie has some of the most glorious wardrobe everrrr
We all can just agree that no woman can look better than Keira Knightley in that green dress
Was waiting on Cleopatra. Wow. I *LOVE* that you included Winona Ryder's dress from Bram Stoker's Dracula (the brilliant Eiko Ishioka), and Gwyneth Paltrow's outfit from Great Expectations! And the dress Rachel Weisz wears in OZ! Green is my favorite color. 💚 thank you so much. I love how varied your taste in films is. Thank you for including the Young Victoria both here and in your Purple Dresses vid.💌
Green and Orange are just so spectacular and incredibly underused.
In my opinion, La Belle et La Bete has some of the best costumes I've ever seen and Lea Seydoux looked absolutely gorgeous in all of them!😍😍😍 such an underrated movie. It's a great rendition of the story of beauty and the beast.
You even mentioned the green dresses in Indian cinema! That makes me so happy.
I used to be a blue dress girl but now I want to wear only green or purple dresses, they're so pretty with red hair
I've been looking forward to this video just for keira knightly's dress from atonement 💚
Other that one or two, I 100% agree with this. I’m a very over-the-top fashion kinda person, so seeing that almost all of these are very large and poofy or have things coming off them almost like a flapper... it’s so cool.
Kiera Knightley’s dress in Atonement is sooo beautiful 😍
im soooo happy hideko from the handmaiden made it into this video 🥺🥺 these videos are my favourite and i bet they take hours and hours of research
surprised to not see Marilyn Monroe in River Of No Return! definitely one of Marilyn's most iconic dresses
or that beautiful green ansamble with a purple sash in "There's no business like show business" though technically not a dress, but some of the outfits aren't dresses but were included.
Green is just a magnificent color 😍♥
Gone with the wind dresses are just so stunning.
the one from 13 going on 30 remains iconic!!
Those Indian traditional dresses are really stunning... 😊😍
I haven't seen hardly anyone comment on the man from uncle but I love the outfits in it so much. Everything feels so simple but classy and I love all of gaby's outfits.
Watching these videos have made me realised how many classics I've watched.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful, even I'm green with envy!
There’s a green top in singing in the rain that has my whole heart. I’ve never seen anything like it
I'd loved your commentary.
You have such a skilled take on fashion, not the most eloquent, but it is far from dull and you don't drone on.
Also, American in Paris...fantastic, and good use of fashion and who it represented in the 50s.
I was reading the comments while watching the video & the Three Musketeers dress totally stole my attention. What a fun, fabulous dress!
the easter parade dress is so beautiful and elegant, the color especially is just *chefs kiss* and the anne of the thousand days dress is also very pretty
Somehow I knew Devdas would be here 😍
OHHH MY GOD U INCLUDED DEVDAS EXACTLY QUEEN!!!
Oh yes! Arven's dress is so gorgeous 😍💚
I love that the dress from Hero was included - I watched the movie for the first time last week and the use of colour in the film just captivated me.
Yes! Madhuri Dixit in Devdas during Maar Dala is everything!!
One of my all-time favorite green dresses is the one that Ann Miller wore in On The Town, during the Prehistoric Man sequence.
My jaw DROPPED TO THE FLOOR at the dress from Belle of New York
The green dress look from burlesque is the most iconic outfit. I love it. Christina Aguilera looks so beautiful.
The green dress in Bram Strokers Dracula was always on of my favorite. Thank you.
By far the best list so far only because the dresses are so beautiful
The green velvet dress that Scarlett O’Hara had made from curtains deserved more screen time. The entire ensemble was just sick!
You have made me your fan by adding foreign cinema to your list. Especially Asian movies. I squeaked by the mention of The Handmaiden, one of my fav Korean movies. And my fav green dress of all times, Jodha Akbar, Aishwarya's elaborate green veil.
A wonderful selection of beautiful iconic dresses.
I love green because of the color of nature
after watching this several time the colour of green kinda grew in me and im kinda living for it
Lalya's green dress in Sky High made her look like the Goddess of the Earth she is!
Gurl, you can do no wrong! Love your videos!❤️❤️
Ah, La Belle et la Bête is here! I love the costumes in that movie so much, especially all of Belle's dresses. I hope the blue one she wears during the dance is in the video for blue dresses, but regardless, all of these dresses were gorgeous!
Emerald green is such a beautiful shade!
I didn't expect one of my favorite movies, Jodhaa Akbar, to be on this list, but I'm SO HAPPY their beautiful wardrobe got recognized by you
