So that is Emma
Scarlett O'Hara's green velvet gown made from curtains in the midst of the ruins of the Civil War is the most famous dress in cinematic history.
I loved when Katnis’ wedding dress changed into the Mockingjay - a more dramatic moment than the red flames.
Agreed! I was completely speechless! and Tracy Turnblad's dress reveal! I was like "You go, girl!!"
Right
@@brookelynnenewcomer943 Agree. The wedding dress transformation was by far best of Hunger Games reveal.
@@kellyfalletta1949 I feel some should have been lower than the actual place they were at.
I agree! I also think she should have included Scarlett O'Hara in the red gown and the movie Gaslight when she came down the stairs in the ball gown.
Scarlett O'Hara's red dress should have been on here. It was gorgeous and Vivian Leigh looked amazing.
No, Carol Burnett’s dress from Went With the Wind (I saw it in the window and had to have it).
I agree... that red dress was a show stopper.
I love that scene. Rhett leaving her alone at the party thinking Melanie will shun her, but Melanie is the bigger person in welcomes her.
I came here just to say that! 100% !
Say what you will about the film itself, but that red dress reveal is the definitive reveal.
Was hoping to see Vivian Leigh in the Scarlett dress that Scarlett wears to Ashley’s birthday.
all these dress is iconic in my eyes, but again... CINDERELLA DRESS IS MY NO.1!!! It's magical moment for me when I see it at the cinema for the very first time. It's so magical and so stunning, and like the narrator said, ALL GIRLS DEFINITELY WANT TO HAVE THAT FANTASY!!!
also that dress at 12:31 is also very stunning and absolutely eye treat! It's very reminding me the dress that Kate Winslet wear in Titanic when she going on board to the ship, but My fair lady version is like a haute couture ones.
I feel like Amanda Bynes' dress reveals in 'What A Girl Wants' DEFINITELY deserves to be recognized.
Omg yesss
It's not so much about the dress as it is the moment. She wowed the room.
Yes! She’s given a frumpy dress, but turns it into a stunner.
I love the Ella's ball gown from Cinderella (2015)!💙
I don’t understand why this isn’t on Disney+.
because they want you to watch the other crappy films. They took off the best ones like the 2015's Cinderella and Maleficent. @@masonplacher7096
Vivian's red dress was absolutely beautiful 💃👠
Scarlett O'Hara's red dress with garnet embellishments or her green velvet curtain dress or her sprigged muslin Wilkes' barbecue dress from "Gone With The Wind," all could have been in your reveals.
Totally agree , all were beautiful
i LOVE ella's dress transformation in the 2015 version of cinderella
I really like your point about Andie's prom dress. While it DOES look like a hideous pink potato sack, and she ruined two perfectly good dresses, the most important aspect is that she "Didn't let anyone break her" or try to shame her for being poor.
I would have added Scarlett O'Hara's (Melanie's party) red dress in Gone With The Wind.
Yes! I was surprised her iconic red dress was nowhere on this list
No, Carol Burnett’s dress from Went With the Wind (I saw it in the window and had to have it).
@@LinusCello75 a classic TV dress moment!
Ooh, good one! That dress was gorgeous and so sexy.
Ella from the live action Cinderella (2015) is my favorite 😍 and I’m sad that Danielle from Ever After didn’t make it 😭 they teased it and it didn’t even make an honorable mention! Her wings and makeup really sold it ✨
I’m disappointed too! Drew looked stunning, and the wings were incredible! I can’t believe that dress didn’t even get an honourable mention. Though I might be a little biased as it is one of my all time favourite movies. The girl saves herself!
@@SD-ik1xf it at least deserved an honorable mention! It’s a beautiful retelling of Cinderella which is hard to do since there are soooo many of them! It was perfectly executed! I love the scene where she “takes what she can carry” including the prince 🤣 iconic
i love that dress and the shoes
Audrey Hepburn's black dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's is my favorite.
mine too
These movies were my life so I love all of them. The dress reveal parts were the best but I think Cruella should have been higher up cause the transformation from the cloak to the red dress was iconic.
Cher in Moonstruck was perfection
👠
While I love the red flame dress from hunger games, I feel like the more impressive reveal is the Mockingjay dress
Exactly what I was thinking. Why the hell would you mention the dress from the first Hunger Games and not the mockingjay dress transformation from Caching Fire?
I totally agree
For real
Even before got to No 1, it was my number 1 choice. I would love to see multiple sequels to this. Maybe based on various fashion eras in film.
I agree. When they got to the top and it hadn’t been mentioned, I was really to go ballistic if it wasn’t number one.
Tracy's maxi dress was always gorgeous to me, Nikki really pulled off that look well. 💞👗
I liked the magenta shirt from the Broadway production better
My favourite dress reveal is Ella’s ball gown from Cinderella💙 and Cruella’s dress reveal from Cruella❤
Cinderella's blue dress is beautiful and Lily James play as Cinderella in 2015 and because her dress was design by Sandy Powell and i love it
*MY FAVORITES:*
Cruella's Surprise Red Dress ("Cruella")
Mia's Princess Gown ("The Princess Diaries")
Tracy's New Look ("Hairspray")
Hermione's Yule Ball Outfit ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire")
Ella's Ball Gown ("Cinderella")
Vivian's Red Ensemble ("Pretty Woman")
Katniss Is the Girl on Fire ("The Hunger Games")
The First Dress ("Miss Congeniality")
Marisa's Cinderella Moment ("Maid in Manhattan")
Danielle's "Breath" Dress ("Ever After")
Emma Watson also wear a yellow dress in Beauty and the Beast 2017.
I think a full episode of Disney Princess dresses would be cool, but based on life and exclude animated productions.
nobody cared about that monstrosity
In all honesty the black & white outfit for the Races from My Fair Lady is far more memorable.
Whenever I hear Mustang Sally I see that scene in my minds eye, Sandra Bullock “gliding” her stuff is about as iconic as it gets!
i love that scence too
Bette Davis as Charlotte Vale in Now Voyager. Quite a few wonderful reveals in this movie. My favorite: Meeting her relatives downstairs for dinner in that black gown. Stunning!
If they ever do another video for transformations please do Evangline from Nanny Mcphee! It's really underrated and needs to be mentioned!
I always love Cinderella’s blue gown and I wish I could have that dress it’s so beautiful and blue is my favorite color
I always loved the dress and gloves that Gilda wears it's so iconic and it's what inspired Jessica Rabbit 🐰💕
I know it’s not head turning, but I loved Grace Kelly’s gold masquerade dress in “To Catch A Thief”
What about Anastasia's blue opera dress?
even her imperial court gown was a plus (minus the train & inappropriate tiara)
If I could wear any dress from any movie, that blue velvet number would be the one. It’s my dream gown. 💙
@@mayarcher5832 seriously, anything but the imperial court gown (described by the imperial courtiers as "putting on armor")
realistically Anastasia wouldn't have survived the encounter with Rasputin (at any point of the fight scene) by how heavy and cumbersome and tightly boned her dress would've been
(normally made of velvet with gold embroidery and furs in winter, Grand Duchesses who were daughters of tsars were allowed cloth of silver)
199: As much as I love the Disney original, I have to go with the 2015 version. Magical and beautiful
I'm so happy My Fair Lady got some appreciation!! I adore this film so much, it's such a lovely and stunning musical 💜
i love my fair lady also
Same here
minus the misogyny tho
@@user-ix1rp9ff3p actually I don't think of that movie as misogynistic at all. It's actually so empowering! It has a misogynistic character, Higgins, but the story isn't about him. It's about Eliza, a woman who is intelligent and ambitious and spunky and hopeful, it's her story of rising above her circumstances to create a better life for herself in a time and place where that was never considered. That is incredible! Higgins doesn't appreciate her, and he doesn't see who she truly is. But the story is showing Eliza as a hero, and paints Higgins as prejudiced and a little ridiculous.
@@estherhinds6314 I felt *uncomfortable the entire time* I watched it on Netflix, and only bore through all that just to watch the iconic Gavote Ascott and also the presentation scene as well
Drew Barrymore's gown from "Ever After" is one of the most exquisite I've ever seen. Feminine, classy, sparkling and gorgeous !
Hermione's dress was truly stunning 💯🙂
Hermione’s dress was such a defining moment to any 90s girl lol
but wrong color tho
@@user-ix1rp9ff3p So what?
Clearly, you're being gullible.
@@ajpat9620 oh woe is poor lil ol' me, *a person of culture* who has *read and re-read all 7 Harry Potter books* boo hoo hoo
@@user-ix1rp9ff3p I actually asked about the change during my Studio Tour visit last year and they confirmed my suspicion. The colour change was due to Emma's complexion not working well with the original periwinkle. I actually saw a render of the same dress in the book colour and I think they made the right choice (and I say this as someone who NEVER wears pink). She looked very washed out in the periwinkle version and it wouldn't have translated well on the screen 🤷♀️
I also think Barbara Streisand's gold sequin dress from Hello Dolly should be in here too. Talk about making an entrance. I know everybody loves her film Funny Girl, but for me Hello Dolly is my favourite. Asking with What's Up Doc.
Scarlett's dress made from curtains (Gone with the Wind) and Grace Kelly's gold ball dress in To catch a thief are two massive absences
Aaaaah I love these dress reveals!!! My favorite has to be Ella's ballgown in the live action Cinderella!!! These moments are just all so magical!!! Also love Hermione's dress reveal!!
any dress is pretty however katniss and any cinderella adaptations are flawlessly gorgeous especially with marisa from maid in manhattan
Lily James is my favorite transformation on the list. But making Dirty Dancing an honorable mention is wrong
The red dress in Pretty Woman was just a dress she wore. The true dress reveal was the amazing black cocktail dress. Also, no Scarlett O'Hara'? Green picnic? Red birthday?
Yes! I loved the black cocktail dress!
#9, #8, #4, #3, and "Sabrina's Party Look" are my favorites on this list. I also love Danielle's 'fairy' costume in "Ever After" and Belle's ballgown in the live-action "Beauty and the Beast".
Love Amelia dress in the princess diaries ❤❤❤
You missed Gone with the Wind
Andie's dress in How to lose a guy in 10 days!
she is lovely
Hey what the heck where’s mal’s dress reveal from descendants 2 should be at least in the top 5
You guys missed Emma Watson's as Belle in The yellow dress 👗!! THAT Disney's dress reveal is (& will ALWAYS be) my FAVORITE (& NOT just because yellow also happens to be favorite color 😉😅)!! 😍💛
Audrey Hepburn tops them all
To be fair, Audrey could make a potato sack look good. Stunningly beautiful woman.
she was
It's basically impossible to narrow this down to a Top 10 list, but you're picks are very well. And yes, number One is a great choice!! 🥰👏🏼
Where is Anna's golden dress from The King and I??
they changed it to pink in the animated version
QUEEN LATIFAH IN LAST HOLIDAY AND JUST WRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love those movies! Her transformation in Last Holiday is epic. She should absolutely be on this list! ❤
I think you missed Bellas wedding dress in Twilight.
Prince Mia dress in The Princess Diaries has been my favourite since I was a little girl. I mean…wow. I envy Anne Hathaway for it.
I was right, a swan definitely didn’t burst out of Eloise Midgen, it is top 10 lists, and these are beautiful dresses!
Katniss Everdeen’s dress and Cinderella (2015) dress!
Simply iconic!!!
Just mysterious and magical!
Cruella’s dress was my third favourite for it’s absolute stunning display and haute couture design ❤❤❤
Andie's wardrobe transformation in "The Devil Wears Prada"?
Hermoine gown is one of the breathtaking moment of my childhood, I watched it multiple repeats.
I’m sure you meant to mention a dress from The Sound of Music-her wedding dress reveal in the Abbey is just iconic!
I'll never understand why Andie ruined a perfectly fine dress for that horrible potato sack dress that she created in Pretty in Pink.
"She's All That": Rachel Leigh Cook's red dress as she walks down the stairs to Freddie Prince Jr.
"Gone with the Wind": Scarlett's red dress for Melanie's party
"Gentlemen Prefer Blondes": Marilyn's and Jane's dresses when entering the dining room on the ship.
Anyone remember Jennifer Connelly's dress in Labyrinth?
Calamity Jane is the OG "take off your glasses & let down your hair" reveal.
Hairspray is always a fun movie , the original, the newer ones are fun , too ! And a dress reveal in a story is always stunning , I think .
Leslie Caron’s stunning dress in Gigi should have been included.
Anna's ball gown from The King and I (plus so much twirling!)
Love the list. But where was Vivian Leigh’s costumes for Gone with the Wind? Each one was a masterpiece and there is no question she looked stunning in them. Kudos to Walter Plunkett for his ingenious designs.
Curella should be first that was the best facts
Leslie Ann Warren’s dress in the 1964 version of Cinderella is perfection and should be number 1.
I love how Audrey made the pixie cut iconic in an era where most women teased and sprayed their hair to concrete hardness.
I chose dance as my elective in seventh grade. My teacher had my class watch Hairspray in her science classroom since she was too pregnant to teach. The ending where she does her big comeback song, is, and _always_ will be, my all-time favorite musical moment.
Grace Kelly Rear Window 10 layer of chiffon black and white cap sleeve dress (Edith Head design), that is BEST dress reveal
Kate Hudson in "how to lose a guy in 10 days" - yellow silk dress is so iconic!
Natalie Wood's first striptease dress in "Gypsy". Grace Kelley's golden ball gown in "To Catch a Thief". Michelle Pfeiffer's and Halle Berry's catsuits in each version of "Catwoman". Tony Curtis and Jack Lemon dressed as women in "Some Like It Hot". Andie's makeover in "The Devil Wears Prada". Cher's opera dress in "Moonstruck". And Sandy's outfit at the end of "Grease"!
I was thinking of Sandy Olssen's black tight attire at the grand finale of Grease (1978)...
There’s only one for me and that’s the magnificent blue ball gown for Miss Ella. I want one!! Cheers
I loved Andie's pink prom dress. Great movie! That red gown in Pretty Woman; that too!
Maid in Manhatten, gorgeous yellow gown, Cinderella blue gown that took 400 hours to make. I have all these DVD's. Not a fan of Audrey Hepburn. Never saw her in anything.
No shoutout for Laney Boggs?
Bette Davis in the Edith Head off the shoulder gown in All About Eve. Elizabeth Taylor in her golden "Entrance Into Rome" royal gown in Cleopatra. Vivien Leigh as Scarlett in her red "hussy" dress that Rhett makes her wear to Ashley's birthday party. Deborah Kerr as Anna in The King And I wearing a wide hoop skirted satin ballgown in the Shall We Dance number. Barbra Streisand coming down the grand staircase in her golden sparkly gown in Hello Dolly. Marilyn Monroe in the iconic pink satin dress during the Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend number in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
The most important one overlooked is Agnes Gooch's dress reveal in Auntie Mame (the Roslind Russell version).
I love Ella's ball gown.
Call me old, but I prefer Tracy's roach dress at the end of the 80s Hairspray.
Not much of a dress reveal but Judy Garland's blue and white gingham pinafore dress when the movie jumps from Sepia tone to color.
The Katniss dress should have been the wedding dress to Mockingjay dresss.... that was amazing
Bow about Audrey Hepburn in Funny face from book girl to high fashion model
Muy favorite, is the dress of "Sabrina", I love It.
Jlo as another version of Cinderella
&
S. Bullock in miss sympathetic sequel almost goes in first place
But we're my favorite design in color blue went in least in third place in the real version iconic story of Cinderella of disney👍👍👍
Congeniality
Speaking as a designer and daughter of a bridal specialist: Disappointed in at least half of these gowns. Especially Hermione’s gown (could have been soooooo much more magical) and the Pretty In Pink gown is only okay. Mis Congeniality’s dress is just a spandex sheath. But the gowns from The Hunger Games as OUTSTANDING!!!
And so many gorgeous gowns not even mentioned from Gone With the Wind!!! After all, who could fail to be impressed by that gorgeous green ensemble made from velvet draperies? Her opening scene white and green gown for the picnic? Her beautiful black and white? Or even her blue dress with the perky little hat that she wore to the lumber mill office?
And some of the outstanding gowns that Ginger Rogers wears while dancing with Fred - especially the one with the feathers?
While I adore the princess gown from My Fair Lady, her most memorable is her Ascot Races black and white one with the amazing hat!
Seriously, you need a new fashion critic!
Oh, Calamity made the list. Well deserved.
Oh Eliza's Ascot races dress was 100 times better than the ball gown
Beautiful!
Anastasia's dress in the cartoon version. WOW.
Absolutely agree about Audrey! It wasn’t just that the dress was gorgeous- it was how she wore it.
200: Belle’s dress from Beauty and the Beast is my favorite
Thanks for adding Sabrina!
i love that movie
For mi da Cinderella blue princess 👗 was da best ,and still the best
I think Katniss´s weeding dress in the second movie, witch transforms into a mockingjay, is way more iconic
did they say wedding dresses were excluded from the list??? because i’m surprised bella’s wedding dress from twilight breaking dawn was no where in this list!
Nr 4 was Hermione Granger transforming into Emma Watson.
I can't believe you left out the *dress dance in **_Legend_** (1985)...* I mean, talk about dramatic entrances! The dress itself made the entrance, danced with the girl, and then swept her into its seductive embrace. For reals, HOW do you make a list like this without THAT scene??!? Shame on you, Mojo. I thought you were better than this. 😅
King and I ball gown
