Having an unbearable burden with that thing called guilt, seems to create a desire to expect a reward for good intentions. Unfortunately, many have an equal appetite for belittling and degrading others, along with knowledge and progress.
They really love a beginning, but it really, really needs an end even more. Their sense of superiority is more important than a billion children under the age of ten, having hope of some living a full life to seventy or beyond.

Neither your first statement, nor your analogy make any sense whatsoever. You're basically saying "choosing to believe facts over faith is stupid". The irony here is deafening.
If your inheritence is non-existent you'd be silly not to choose the bowl of beans.
If you're dying of thirst in a desert, you need water. You'll either get it or you won't. Saying, "Nobody scientifically proved water's existence to me" won't save you.
Similarly, no one will be able to say to God: "You never scientifically proved your existence to me!" and expect that that's going to get them off the hook. It won't. Your soul was made to live in communion with God. You will either have that, or you won't. Either way, there are consequences.

Most atheists say in the balance of probabilities there is no god, as there is no evidence to support it's existence.
Maybe Dr Lennox should have supplied the evidence his father had. He was very quiet/thin on that detail.
Technically, proof of God through science and reason are possible, but what people tend to do with the evidence is to redirect and misinterpret it or to conflate and confuse meanings.
The most simple example i can make, is the fact that we have found that we live in a ordered universe with constant laws in physics and biology at macro and micro levels. And according to our knowledge and use of laws in society, we can see that, laws need to be created and enforced in a uniform manner, without bias, so they would be just.
From these to pieces of information, we can see that laws require a law maker who is also powerful enough to enforces those laws. Also, laws cannot exist in chaos, there needs to be a coherent and intelligent entity to come up with them and to enforce them.
This is why i cant believe in the big bang, it has no explanation for origin of laws that govern time, matter, space and energy to behave in a very specific way. The problem with origin of the universe via big bang, is it’s not random or chaotic enough.
Dawkins debunks his own theories and doesn't even notice and atheists lap it up, what ya gonna do lol

Me I love Dr John Lennox, the mathematician, and Dr Ross, D Meyer, Dr Tour( I ❤ how u critically face queck people), etc. I DID PhD studies in math education. I from South Africa. Please fw my thinking to Dr lennox, My worry is that as earthlings we tend to reason interesting. WE MIGHT THINK LIGHT MEANS MILKY GALAXY SUN, BUT 4 me the light in first day does not mean sun as we know it now. IT MEANS MUCH BIGGGER LIGHT THAT COULD SEPARATE DARKNESS WHILE GOD MOVED ON FACE OF DEEP. MEANING A MUCH BIGGEST SUN Rememba our galaxcy can orbit around light produces suns, which rotate also. One day we will discover the water above. 2 other notes, GENESIS 14 TALKS ABOUT OUR SUN ALSO REMEMBA 1DAY =1000days I read somewhere. So Genesis 1 is awesome

Man, you were preaching when you got started on the mindset of the atheist! Had it down to a T. At least that’s what I would consider the mindset of the staunch atheist. Science of the gaps to be sure. "Seek but do not find" is not a good strategy to find the truth.
That never actually happened of course as Lennox has never been a scientist.
He was awarded an honorary doctorate in science when he was 50 years old in addition to his real one in mathematics. He's a marvelous storyteller, but speaks on scientific subjects with the language of an untutored layman.
@ji8044 and yet science continues to provide evidence to God and scientists who are aitheist deny. You can't ignore the facts. You can't logically and intellectually deny an intelligent creator and in turn you can't ignore the evidence that the Creator is the Christian God.
@@dano8613 I have no problem with your personal belief in God. However much I enjoy the lilting accent and grandfatherly image of John Lennox, I know that on a factual basis, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

@@michaelmarshall9132 As I do too, but my father was also a great Irish storyteller. People loved to listen to him. As I grew older I came to know that most of his stories were no more than 50% true at best. Both he and Lennox come from a tradition thousands of years old when storytelling was both entertainment and education but not factual history. Jesus's parables are from the same tradition. Have you ever asked yourself is the mustard seed REALLY the smallest? The answer is no, it's not even close, but nobody was going to fact check Jesus about it,
