Speaking as someone who lives on an island, I can say that there were Maori here for about 800 years with no outside contact before Samuel Marsden presented the Gospel to them on 25 December 1814. Before Jesus arrived on this earth in human form, countless numbers of people lived and died without having the hope we now know. God's plan and way of working is more comprehensive than our modern concept of "asking Jesus into our heart". And his Justice is greater than the Grace of any man. I have full confidence that God's purpose of reconciling all men to him from any place or time period will be accomplished. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess and I believe this will be willingly and with wonder and awe.
Read Romans 1, it is clear that none are without excuse, Titus 2:11-12 also tells us the same thing, Acts 2 tells us that people from ALL OVER THE WORLD were in Jerusalem and heard and accepted the Gospel, they went back to wherever they came from and preached there it was up to the inhabitants of those regions to accept Christ or not, God is true, no one can accused Him of lying especially when it comes to His word, He can't lie. That's what scripture says. Those that perished in the flood were all preached to, the Bible is clear that most will go to hell, all who died without knowing the Gospel also got a chance to learn about God but they chose idolatry and it remains that way to this day, why do you suppose they killed that missionary, John Allen Chau, a couple of years ago? He told those islanders about Lord Jesus and they rejected the Gospel TWICE and eventually killed him on his third attempt.

Before I knew the Lord, I had the exact same question as the young man at the end of this video. I think you answered it in the best possible way. It is an emotional (not scientific) argument to say, "That isn't fair!!" But when you grow in knowledge and trust you see that without God there IS NO concept of "fair" to begin with. Justice is a concept that God puts in our hearts - to me, it is one of the biggest evidences FOR the attributes of God that the Bible describes. And then the indescribable mercy of the reality of Christ just leaves me (at least) without words for the gratitude I feel. Thank you for your patience with the younger versions of ourselves. :)
Exactly...He had no idea the Concept of Justice was from the Hebrew God himself. As well as the 100 other laws we practice today. Everything from Judges. Juries, Prison, Murder, etc...He was trying to have his cake and eat it too.. As he likes Sin. That way he can live by his own laws and rules. And thinks he will get away with it. Yes, God is just! I lived on an island off the SE tip of Papua New Guinea in 1978 and God got me and I went to find His Word and now I'm back there as a missionary. The Resurrection is the starting point of the most wonderful and challenging life for anyone and the end of it is eternity with Jesus.

I ain't gonna lie I was kinda on the fence about my faith until I found this man. I was digging around in cosmology, astrophysics, geology, paleontology, etc trying to find answers and then I find Dr. James and how the first forms of life were highly complex and we have no idea how they hit the scene naturally on a brand new planet with only mass and energy on that same planet. We make digital audio players with Word on them for oral populations. The first 20 players were shipped to the Yagua Indians in the jungles of Bolivia back in 2001. Dr. Tour, I wish I had an hour of your time to personally tell you how you've helped me. Perhaps some day, but for now, this will have to do. My wife died last year, making me a Widower, twice, as my first wife died in 2013, and I'm only 52 now. My wife dying last year filled me with a rage that, truth be told, I largely aimed at God. My faith was not compromised by this, but it did put distance between myself and God. Admittedly, I am still struggling with this anger, but the distance I felt between God and I is shortening. This is largely due to my discovering your channel here on UA-cam. For many years now, I have found people who approach the subject of Christianity from a scientific point of view to be very interesting, in that they have answered many questions that had bothered me for most of my life. Men like Kent Hovind (*yes*, Kent Hovind), Chuck Missler, and now yourself, you have all been so helpful in my Christian walk. I guess I just wanted to thank you for being there in a time when I needed to hear from someone like yourself. Couple more things... I agree with you completely regarding your answer to the guy asking about if he had grown up isolated on an Island. I had a similar conversation once with a person, claiming they were a Christian. Their belief was that if someone, somehow lived their life without ever being told about the Bible, that God would reject them, and they would go to Hell. I disagreed, telling them that the God I believe in is just and wise. The only just and wise decision God would make for someone who never knew the Bible existed, or was unable to comprehend scripture, the only just and wise decision to make is to give them a free pass. I'm talking about babys, children too young to understand scripture, people with mental health limitations such as retardation, etc. The God I believe in would never send them to Hell, and I'd want no part of a God who would. Lastly, I recently found out that you are going to be debating "professor" Dave in Houston this month. Man, I wish I could attend that! Don't hold back, Dr. Tour. Kick his ass! Just to let you know, hell does not exist. That doctrine came from Greek philosophers, NOT from Scripture. It is a false teaching not found anywhere in early manuscripts.
@@djparsons7363 Hey DJ. Thanks for your input. I've found, when studying scripture, that what exactly happened to us, and in what order, to be confusing. I think I agree with you about Hell not existing...yet. So, here's the Reader's Digest version of my not totally committed to yet thoughts on the subject. I believe the possible way it will go is like this: Our Earthly bodies give out, quit, we die. I don't think we go to be with the Lord yet. Scripture seems to say that the dead will rise and be judged when Jesus returns and imprisons Satan in a fiery hole in the ground, after Michael defeats Satan in battle. That's a fight I look forward to watching! Anyway, I digress... If the dead rise and are judged after Jesus returns, then it doesn't really make sense that we immediately go to be with the Lord after our earthly body expires. If that were the case, would we be judged then and judged again after Jesus returns? That doesn't sound right. Which leads me to a theory, not scriptural, but just what makes sense to me. Until Jesus returns, I'm thinking that possibly, when our earthly body expires, our Spirit will go into some sort of dormant State, until Jesus returns and we rise again. I would guess that this theory is the type of thinking that lead the Catholics to believe in Purgatory, which could be just another word for a dormant state in waiting. I believe that it's possible that when the dead rise, it will be everyone, the Believers and the non believers, and this is when everyone will be judged. The Believers will be with the Lord after judgement. I believe it's Possible that the fiery hole in the ground that Jesus banished Satan to might be the place where the non-believers go after judgment. Lastly, I think it's possible that when this planet is restored to the way it was in the beginning, this will be what we refer to as Heaven. So, there it is. My wife, God rest her soul studied on this quite a bit. I'm not saying that the scenario that I just described is correct. It's just what I have been able to come up with from reading the text. All of it is subject to change and anytime if I discover something in the text that I missed.

I'll share what I have learned in the last 50 years of Bible study. When we die, we do not continue conscious on any level, the Scriptures say our death is exactly the same as an animal's death. (Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20) for there is an OUTCOME FOR HUMANS AND AN OUTCOME FOR ANIMALS; THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME OUTCOME. AS THE ONE DIES, SO THE OTHER DIES; AND THEY ALL HAVE BUT ONE SPIRIT. So MAN HAS NO SUPERIORITY OVER ANIMALS, for everything is futile. ALL ARE GOING TO THE SAME PLACE. THEY ALL COME FROM THE DUST, AND THEY ALL ARE RETURNING TO THE DUST. Obviously, like the animals, we don't continue conscious, we don't have an "immortal soul" and hell isn't possible since there is no consciousness after death. The only ones that are raised up when Christ returns are a small remnant of the 144,000 who are still on earth and are taken to Heaven. This is what is incorrectly thought to be a "rapture". (1 Thess. 4:15-17) A resurrection of billions who have died will take place during the 1,000 year Kingdom, that is when your wife will live again. There has been a great deal of false confusing teachings from the churches but the truth is much simpler to understand. Hope this helps.

Then I met Sheila, and married her. Five years later she does. Makes me wonder why did I even bother with falling in love again?!?! Someone once asked, "to have loved and lost, or never to have loved at all?" Pretty good question, especially for those who have lost their spouse. After my second wife died, it didn't compromise my faith, but it did make me put some distance between myself and God for a while. I had a lot of anger in me. I closed to that distance between God night when I realized that there is no reason to be mad at God. I chose both of the women I married. God didn't make me marry two women who both died very young. I made that choice. It's very easy during difficult times like that to react and blame God. But that angers always misplaced when you put it on God. The sad tragic events of our lives are always, if you really think about it, result from choices that we make, nothing that God makes us do. I don't believe God interferes like that. Okay, subject change... When does this Thousand-Year something or another take place? Another subject change: have you kept up with the feud between dr. Tour and professor Dave? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Professor Dave is a smart guy, but I disagree with many of his beliefs or non beliefs. And the way that he talks about the people online that he chooses to Target is so disrespectful and irritating. I just subscribed to his videos so I'll be following him more closely. Right now I don't know what Dave believes. As for the 1,000 years, that will happen after Armageddon which is God's war against all the human Governments on earth. Christ's Kingdom will then be the only Government that will exist and will bring in 1,000 years of peace during which the earth and all humans will reach perfection. All sicknesses will be done away with, the resurrection will happen and no one will be in fear of anything, even the animals will all be tamed. All of that would have happened already if Adam and Eve didn't sin bringing 6,000 years of misery but God didn't change His mind, that will all still happen. "All knowing" can easily be overstated. We are created to love and love is always volitional. If it is not freely given we quickly realize that it is not love. God knows whether or not we have love Him once we've made that choice. So, regarding God's knowledge, it is more accurate to say that He knows everything He wants to know about everything there is to know. Dr. Tour, I know you could not stand up to the opposition the way you do on your own. Thank you for putting in the years to know your Savior and learning to trust Him for guidance.

When I was a teenager, I was alone in my room and I asked God if he was there. Lightning fell on the word' there.' it was the only lightning that night. It was not Stormy weather. The lightning was so close it shook the house. I have not always behaved like a person who is convinced, but I know that I have no excuse, only his mercy and Grace.

Young student on the the Island: Feelings and thinking are done in the spiritual, in our mind. The "hearer of prayers" and we, too, communicate in MANY ways. Inspiration? That is a form of communication w/the spiritual...a desire is a form of inner/spiritual communication. THE father of the human family (the REAL big guy) gave us music, food, sex, family, etc. and the desire/thinking of/pursuing these things are ways of spiritual communication. The point is God can communicate with HIS creation in many ways. Just something to ponder...

For those who has heard of god and jesus, they must listen and accept the teaching of jesus that the father is the only true GOD (john 17:3) and jesus is a MAN approved of god (acts 2:22). They will be judged accordingly.
Infinite # of universes does not solve their problem because the only one that counts is the one we are in. This is the universe that has not had enough time to get it done, but here we are.

Speaking as someone who lives on an island, I can say that there were Maori here for about 800 years with no outside contact before Samuel Marsden presented the Gospel to them on 25 December 1814. Before Jesus arrived on this earth in human form, countless numbers of people lived and died without having the hope we now know. God's plan and way of working is more comprehensive than our modern concept of "asking Jesus into our heart". And his Justice is greater than the Grace of any man. I have full confidence that God's purpose of reconciling all men to him from any place or time period will be accomplished. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess and I believe this will be willingly and with wonder and awe.
Read Romans 1, it is clear that none are without excuse, Titus 2:11-12 also tells us the same thing, Acts 2 tells us that people from ALL OVER THE WORLD were in Jerusalem and heard and accepted the Gospel, they went back to wherever they came from and preached there it was up to the inhabitants of those regions to accept Christ or not, God is true, no one can accused Him of lying especially when it comes to His word, He can't lie. That's what scripture says.
Those that perished in the flood were all preached to, the Bible is clear that most will go to hell, all who died without knowing the Gospel also got a chance to learn about God but they chose idolatry and it remains that way to this day, why do you suppose they killed that missionary, John Allen Chau, a couple of years ago? He told those islanders about Lord Jesus and they rejected the Gospel TWICE and eventually killed him on his third attempt.

Before I knew the Lord, I had the exact same question as the young man at the end of this video. I think you answered it in the best possible way. It is an emotional (not scientific) argument to say, "That isn't fair!!" But when you grow in knowledge and trust you see that without God there IS NO concept of "fair" to begin with.
Justice is a concept that God puts in our hearts - to me, it is one of the biggest evidences FOR the attributes of God that the Bible describes. And then the indescribable mercy of the reality of Christ just leaves me (at least) without words for the gratitude I feel. Thank you for your patience with the younger versions of ourselves. :)

Yes, God is just! I lived on an island off the SE tip of Papua New Guinea in 1978 and God got me and I went to find His Word and now I'm back there as a missionary. The Resurrection is the starting point of the most wonderful and challenging life for anyone and the end of it is eternity with Jesus.

The thing is, people have presuppositions.... And presuppositions lead you to interpret evidence the way your presuppositions lead you.
When I was searching for truth and looking into evidence, it led me to God. My presupposition is that God is real.... And so now with the presupposition or the evidence led me, I can interpret evidence that I see in light of a creator.
However, if you don't believe there's a creator, you can't make sense of anything.
Now you're experience and practical walking in the world shows that you believe there is a creator because you take for granted logic, morals, trusting in your five senses, uniformity of nature, and many other things that you are confident in.
However, if you believe that there is no God that created all of this, then you have no philosophy to explain any of that. You can't make sense out of any of it. If you believe that random chance brought forth all this life in the earth....(which by the way is not science but it is faith as well).

Do you understand what this means ? every human being in the world, every child in your family, every person that you work with, everybody in your neighborhood has an inborn knowledge of God, according to Romans 1:21, and an inborn knowledge of the moral law of God (Romans 1:32; 2:15). This means, among other things - the implications are many firstly having to kneel before a just God.

Dr. Tour, I wish I had an hour of your time to personally tell you how you've helped me. Perhaps some day, but for now, this will have to do. My wife died last year, making me a Widower, twice, as my first wife died in 2013, and I'm only 52 now. My wife dying last year filled me with a rage that, truth be told, I largely aimed at God. My faith was not compromised by this, but it did put distance between myself and God. Admittedly, I am still struggling with this anger, but the distance I felt between God and I is shortening. This is largely due to my discovering your channel here on UA-cam. For many years now, I have found people who approach the subject of Christianity from a scientific point of view to be very interesting, in that they have answered many questions that had bothered me for most of my life. Men like Kent Hovind (*yes*, Kent Hovind), Chuck Missler, and now yourself, you have all been so helpful in my Christian walk. I guess I just wanted to thank you for being there in a time when I needed to hear from someone like yourself.

I agree with you completely regarding your answer to the guy asking about if he had grown up isolated on an Island. I had a similar conversation once with a person, claiming they were a Christian. Their belief was that if someone, somehow lived their life without ever being told about the Bible, that God would reject them, and they would go to Hell. I disagreed, telling them that the God I believe in is just and wise. The only just and wise decision God would make for someone who never knew the Bible existed, or was unable to comprehend scripture, the only just and wise decision to make is to give them a free pass. I'm talking about babys, children too young to understand scripture, people with mental health limitations such as retardation, etc. The God I believe in would never send them to Hell, and I'd want no part of a God who would.
Lastly, I recently found out that you are going to be debating "professor" Dave in Houston this month. Man, I wish I could attend that! Don't hold back, Dr. Tour. Kick his ass! He needs to be humbled. Dave doesn't seem to understand the difference between a scientist who has accomplished as much as you have, and a guy who repeats what he's learned from people like yourself. Just to let you know, hell does not exist. That doctrine came from Greek philosophers, NOT from Scripture. It is a false teaching not found anywhere in early manuscripts.
@@djparsons7363 Hey DJ. Thanks for your input. I've found, when studying scripture, that what exactly happened to us, and in what order, to be confusing. I think I agree with you about Hell not existing...yet. So, here's the Reader's Digest version of my not totally committed to yet thoughts on the subject. I believe the possible way it will go is like this: Our Earthly bodies give out, quit, we die. I don't think we go to be with the Lord yet. Scripture seems to say that the dead will rise and be judged when Jesus returns and imprisons Satan in a fiery hole in the ground, after Michael defeats Satan in battle. That's a fight I look forward to watching! Anyway, I digress... If the dead rise and are judged after Jesus returns, then it doesn't really make sense that we immediately go to be with the Lord after our earthly body expires. If that were the case, would we be judged then and judged again after Jesus returns? That doesn't sound right. Which leads me to a theory, not scriptural, but just what makes sense to me. Until Jesus returns, I'm thinking that possibly, when our earthly body expires, our Spirit will go into some sort of dormant State, until Jesus returns and we rise again. I would guess that this theory is the type of thinking that lead the Catholics to believe in Purgatory, which could be just another word for a dormant state in waiting. I believe that it's possible that when the dead rise, it will be everyone, the Believers and the non believers, and this is when everyone will be judged. The Believers will be with the Lord after judgement. I believe it's Possible that the fiery hole in the ground that Jesus banished Satan to might be the place where the non-believers go after judgment. Lastly, I think it's possible that when this planet is restored to the way it was in the beginning, this will be what we refer to as Heaven.
So, there it is. My wife, God rest her soul studied on this quite a bit. I'm not saying that the scenario that I just described is correct. It's just what I have been able to come up with from reading the text. All of it is subject to change and anytime if I discover something in the text that I missed.

I'll share what I have learned in the last 50 years of Bible study.
When we die, we do not continue conscious on any level, the Scriptures say our death is exactly the same as an animal's death.
(Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20) for there is an OUTCOME FOR HUMANS AND AN OUTCOME FOR ANIMALS; THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME OUTCOME. AS THE ONE DIES, SO THE OTHER DIES; AND THEY ALL HAVE BUT ONE SPIRIT. So MAN HAS NO SUPERIORITY OVER ANIMALS, for everything is futile. ALL ARE GOING TO THE SAME PLACE. THEY ALL COME FROM THE DUST, AND THEY ALL ARE RETURNING TO THE DUST.
Obviously, like the animals, we don't continue conscious, we don't have an "immortal soul" and hell isn't possible since there is no consciousness after death.
The only ones that are raised up when Christ returns are a small remnant of the 144,000 who are still on earth and are taken to Heaven. This is what is incorrectly thought to be a "rapture". (1 Thess. 4:15-17)
A resurrection of billions who have died will take place during the 1,000 year Kingdom, that is when your wife will live again. There has been a great deal of false confusing teachings from the churches but the truth is much simpler to understand. Hope this helps.
@@djparsons7363 Hey DJ, thank you for your condolences regarding my wives dying. Yes, it's been very difficult. I was doing better following three years of misery after my first wife's death. Then I met Sheila, and married her. Five years later she does. Makes me wonder why did I even bother with falling in love again?!?! Someone once asked, "to have loved and lost, or never to have loved at all?" Pretty good question, especially for those who have lost their spouse. After my second wife died, it didn't compromise my faith, but it did make me put some distance between myself and God for a while. I had a lot of anger in me. I closed to that distance between God night when I realized that there is no reason to be mad at God. I chose both of the women I married. God didn't make me marry two women who both died very young. I made that choice. It's very easy during difficult times like that to react and blame God. But that angers always misplaced when you put it on God. The sad tragic events of our lives are always, if you really think about it, result from choices that we make, nothing that God makes us do. I don't believe God interferes like that. Okay, subject change... When does this Thousand-Year something or another take place?
Another subject change: have you kept up with the feud between dr. Tour and professor Dave? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Professor Dave is a smart guy, but I disagree with many of his beliefs or non beliefs. And the way that he talks about the people online that he chooses to Target is so disrespectful and irritating. Being the lover of science that he says he is, one would think that he would show dr tour more respect, despite the fact that he disagrees with Dr tours beliefs. And Doctor tour isn't the only one on UA-cam that Dave has been incredibly disrespectful to. I know this isn't the most Christian way to think, but I'm a former boxer, and sometimes there's people that just need to get their ass kicked. I look forward to this kicking when they debate.
@@ASMRMark Actually, I just stumbled on this video, I was familiar with Dr. Tour and his brilliance for a while but I didn't know about this feud. I just subscribed to his videos so I'll be following him more closely. Right now I don't know what Dave believes.
As for the 1,000 years, that will happen after Armageddon which is God's war against all the human Governments on earth. Christ's Kingdom will then be the only Government that will exist and will bring in 1,000 years of peace during which the earth and all humans will reach perfection. All sicknesses will be done away with, the resurrection will happen and no one will be in fear of anything, even the animals will all be tamed.
All of that would have happened already if Adam and Eve didn't sin bringing 6,000 years of misery but God didn't change His mind, that will all still happen. Only the 144,000 go to Heaven, they are the Kings and Priests in that Kingdom Government that will help us achieve perfection.
Dr. Tour, you have been for me such a powerful inspiration in your profession as well as your Christian Testimony. There are day when doubt sneaks into my life and your life and words clear the air for me and no doubt many others. Keep up the Great Work!!!

"All knowing" can easily be overstated. We are created to love and love is always volitional. If it is not freely given we quickly realize that it is not love. God knows whether or not we have love Him once we've made that choice. So, regarding God's knowledge, it is more accurate to say that He knows everything He wants to know about everything there is to know.
Dr. Tour, I know you could not stand up to the opposition the way you do on your own. Thank you for putting in the years to know your Savior and learning to trust Him for guidance.

true, but that is a pretty silly attitude, as countless millions have lived and died without ever hearing a word about Jesus - from the jungles of the Amazon to Irian Jaya to the deserts of Arabia and Mongolia - for God to be just there has to be sensible answer to how they are judged

Young student on the the Island: Feelings and thinking are done in the spiritual, in our mind. The "hearer of prayers" and we, too, communicate in MANY ways. Inspiration? That is a form of communication w/the spiritual...a desire is a form of inner/spiritual communication. THE father of the human family (the REAL big guy) gave us music, food, sex, family, etc. and the desire/thinking of/pursuing these things are ways of spiritual communication. The point is God can communicate with HIS creation in many ways. Just something to ponder...

In regard to the last question about isolated people never heard of God or Jesus , my believe is all human are created in the image of God morally and ethically , so normal human been are hardwired to be moral beings so those isolated people they will be judged, according to their moral and ethical behavior, and conduct
For those who has heard of god and jesus, they must listen and accept the teaching of jesus that the father is the only true GOD (john 17:3) and jesus is a MAN approved of god (acts 2:22). They will be judged accordingly.

Infinite # of universes does not solve their problem because the only one that counts is the one we are in. This is the universe that has not had enough time to get it done, but here we are.
Plus, to posit infinite universes, as if they were “possible worlds” but actually not, only posits another problem (besides still creating many questions)…infinitely making identical infinite universes like this one. We get nowhere but here. like you said: still in the universe that has not had enough time to get it done, but here we are.

Most communities in Africa have all along through out history known that there is a Cteator of all mankind. Colonial masters and some missionaries came with their selfish believes so as to take us away from believing in Our Creator, so that they can steel our wealth and enslave us. We have now known the truth of it all. We have forgiven them and we will continue loving them. But can they stop forcing us evil doctrines from hell that are contrary to the will and wish of Our Creator, Who is Our heavenly Father.
