- Hey you guys!! I just sang and posted this song again on my channel on 1.28.23!! If you’d like to check out the updated version here’s the link!! • ‘BAT OUT OF HELL’ - Vo...
- -
So, I’ve shared this one before, but it was probably back in February or March If last year.
I thought it was time for an updated version on here!
I was chatting with a friend about this song recently, and we both discovered that we both shared a favorite lyric from Bat Out If Hell!
“Nothing ever grows in this rotten old hole
and everything is stunted and lost
And nothing really rocks and nothing really rolls and nothing’s ever worth the cost.”
For some reason, out of all the lyrics that Jim Steinman wrote into this song, the above, always just stuck to me the most!
What is your favorite lyrics in this tremendous song?! I would love to know! :)

Lyrics:
The sirens are screaming, and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonight
There's a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye
And a blade shining oh so bright
There's evil in the air and there's thunder in the sky,
And a killer's on the bloodshot streets
And down in the tunnels where the deadly are rising
Oh, I swear I saw a young boy down in the gutter
He was starting to foam in the heat
Oh, baby you're the only thing in this whole world
That's pure and good and right
And wherever you are and wherever you go
There's always gonna be some light,
But I gotta get out, I gotta break out now
Before the final crack of dawn
So we gotta make the most of our one night together
When it's over, you know,
We'll both be so alone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
When the night is over, like a bat out of hell, I'll be gone, gone, gone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
But when the day is done
And the sun goes down
And the moonlight's shining through
Then like a sinner before the gates of Heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you
I'm gonna hit the highway like a battering ram
On a silver-black phantom bike
When the metal is hot, and the engine is hungry
And we're all about to see the light
Nothing ever grows in this rotting old hole,
And everything is stunted and lost
And nothing really rocks, and nothing really rolls,
And nothing's ever worth the cost
Well I know that I'm damned if I never get out,
And maybe I'm damned if I do,
But with every other beat I've got left in my heart,
You know I want to be damned with you
If I gotta be damned, you know I want to be damned
Dancing through the night with you
Well if I gotta be damned, you know I want to be damned,
Gotta be damned, you know I want to be damned
Gotta be damned, you know I want to be damned
Dancing through the night,
Dancing through the night,
Dancing through the night with you
Oh, baby you're the only thing in this whole world
That's pure and good and right
And wherever you are and wherever you go
There's always gonna be some light,
But I gotta get out, I gotta break out now
Before the final crack of dawn
So we gotta make the most of our one night together
When it's over, you know,
We'll both be so alone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
When the night is over,
like a bat out of hell, I'll be gone, gone, gone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
But when the day is done
And the sun goes down
And the moonlight's shining through
Then like a sinner before the gates of Heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you
Then like a sinner before the gates of Heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you
Well I can see myself tearing up the road, faster
Than any other boy has ever gone
And my skin is raw, but my soul is ripe,
And no one's gonna stop me now, I'm gonna make my escape
But I can't stop thinking of you,
And I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late
And I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late
Then I'm down in the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun,
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike,
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart, still beating,
Breaking out of my body and flying away
Like a bat out of hell
Then I'm down in the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun,
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike,
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart,
Still beating still beating
Still beating still beating
Breaking out of my body, and flying away
Like a bat out of hell
Oh, like a bat out of hell
Oh, like a bat out of hell
Oh, like a bat out of hell
(I'll be gone when the morning comes)
Oh, like a bat out of hell
(I'll be gone when the morning comes)
Oh, like a bat out of hell

OMG, amazing
Absolutely love this, keep up the great work Lauren
Thank you, David!!!! I’m so glad my interpretation shines through!!! 🖤✌️🦇
On a Lauren binge, and read the song description so thought I'd answer the question posed (fave lyrics in this song): for me, "Like a sinner before the gates of heaven"
It speaks to me of the power we all have within ourselves - even if we are weak and broken. We can be broken and destitute, but there is someone, some love out there that can turn it all around. A love so powerful it transcends boundaries and pushes us into supernatural feats of dedication, empowers us to be greater - better than we are.
Oh I love that, Neil! There are so many great lines in this song it’s so hard to choose only one sometimes, right? But I always manage to find a favorite somehow! :)
Wow!! That was so good!!!
Ah! Thank you sooo much!!!! 😎🦇✌️

@@LaurenBradleyGivingOffSparks Thank you for the song. Have you considered covering "No Where Fast", would sound good.
@@johnnyparky7388 Yes! I really need to get on that. It’s one of my favorites since childhood!
I just fell in love
Aw thanks, John!! 😎🦇
Having recently become a rabid fan of Lauren’s cover songs, when I saw that she had redone her previous cover of Bat Out Of Hell, I should’ve been prepared for what was going to happen when I hit play. I wasn’t at all prepared - I was nothing short of gobsmacked by the blistering performance! There are a legion of covers of Bat Out Of Hell -- a runaway behemoth of a song -- but none of them are better than this! From start to finish, there’s fire and fury and full-blast fantastic! As I said in an email, Lauren’s a musical blend of titan, avenger, and assassin! In short, a superhero! Bravo, Lauren!
Ahhhhh!!! Thank you so much, Bryan!! You write the best commentary! They always makes me smile (in a total titan, avenger, superhero sorts way of course). 😊 Thanks for always taking the time out to listen!! I appreciate it big time! ✌️😎
Takes a lot of courage to try this and she nails it.
Thank you so much for this!!! 🦇🦇✌️
Very good!!! (Applause applause)
Ahhh! Thank you, Dan!!!
A nice hearty slice of Meat Loaf to alleviate your hunger... for rock!
Haha! You can never go wrong with Meat Loaf!! 🤘
Power cool!
Thank you!! 🖤
My first time hearing your voice. Wow girl! You nailed that finale. Probably the best cover of Bat I've heard. If I could add a slight constructive criticism, the "like a sinner,,," line should be more "breathy" Meat had that perfected. You was much stronger on the faster, powerful parts of the song. Very, very well done. Also did I hear a hint of an Irish accent in your vocals
Wow, thank you so much for this comment!! And thank you for the feedback on the “like a sinner” phrase! Thanks for that - feedback like this is immensely helpful! So, Irish accent - I am half Irish but born and raised and reside in the states! I can “do” an Irish accent but not sure how authentic it sounds! So interesting that you hear that though bc there have been times where people asked (after briefly speaking to me) where I was from bc they thought they heard a slight accent! Do you recall where in the song you you heard it? Thanks so much again for your awesome comment!! 🖤🦇
@@LaurenBradleyGivingOffSparks oh wow! Not only are you an amazing singer, but you reply to comments. I am definitely checking all your songs out. I will replay this and try find where I heard that Irish bit.
Haha - I try my best with the responses!! Sometimes my response time is, “faster than the speed of night” and other times it’s like I’m, “fighting for the chance to be last.” (sorry can’t resist throwing in Steinman lyrics wherever I can haha). I prefer to write back without distraction (if possible, I have two little ones)! Don’t go too crazy looking for the Irish bit, I was just asking if ya knew off the top of your head! I was going to share that with my mom (her family is Irish), but we both know it’s a long song, and I don’t want to make ya go through 8+ minutes of singing all over again (unless of course you wanted to, which is entirely up to you) lol. 😬🦇🤘Thanks again for taking the time to comment!
please, sing Im gonna love her for both of us!!!!!!!

Very hard song to cover but great job. Time for a greatest hits album of Jim steinmans work from all the Artists he wrote for.
Okay, just discovered you by doing random surfing of my favorite Jim Steinman song (no pun intended). You have a very powerful voice! Always thought the 2 most difficult band to cover vocally were Meatloaf and Boston. Have you ever covered any Boston songs?
Hey!! I have not done Boston yet!! Any suggestions?? Thanks so much for listening!!
possibly the first verse Sets up the whole thing perfectly Then the whole thing is perfect or as close to perfect as a song can get
🤗🤗🤗🦇
God i miss the days where somebody could sing something on karaoke and you would fall for them!
would so love to see you on BGT or AGT
i agree
Thank you!!! Wow. Ya know someone else was mentioning the voice to me. I’ll look up AGT. I have a tendency to forget things so don’t be shy asking if I did it yet lol. 😂 Thanks for the great suggestion!
@@howardjoesbury6598 Thank you!

Just unbelievably good. I know climate change is serious but by far the greatest injustice on this Earth is Lauren not being a superstar. That voice is earth shatteringly good.
WOW!!! Thank you so much, Neil!!! I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate this!!Thanks so much for listening!!! 🦇😎✌️
Much better than I expected. Can’t match the meat but a darn fine jog
Thank you, John!!
Thank you, John!!
Please do "nowhere fast" or "tonight is what it means to be young".
I am working on both of those! Can’t offer a def timeframe - but I’ll let ya know! :)
it took a chick with balls to finally do meat justice
Wow - Thank you so much for this tremendous comment!! I actually plan to try and post an updated version of this in the near future! I absolutely LOVE this song!!! 🦇😎
No one can beat the original but this was pretty darn good. The only "complaint" i have ( and this comes from a personal preference) is that i don't think the song is suitable for a female voice, just like i don't think BT "Total eclips from the heart" is suitable for a male voice. Good Job, Girl!
Hey! :) Thank you very much for this!! I must say that I 1000% agree with you! It is NOT meant for the female voice! Despite that, I still love to sing this song! So, I sing it anyhow! :) Thank you for taking the time out to comment and to also provide feedback. I really appreciate it!!! Have a good weekend! ✌️🦇
@@LaurenBradleyGivingOffSparks And you thanks for taking the time to reply, Good weekend for you as well and keep on rocking hahaha.
My sister son I challenge you to face off
I am sorry but the voice is terrible. I lasted less than 20 seconds and had to hit the pause button. Please do not quit you day job. Meatloaf had a classic operatic voice that defined one of the best selling albums of all time. If anyone attempts to cover such an iconic song, you better bring your "A" game. You did not or you just do not the chops to tackle such a legend. RIP in Meat and Jim Steinman. Thanks for music that will live on for others to cover and mutilate. LOL!
You know, the great thing about music is that anyone can add their interpretation to music and if its not your thing, move along or better yet, post your version that I’m sure is far superior to the one here. Put up or shut up. I, like many of Lauren’s supporters really prefer the latter.
@@robmarsili1450 Dude chill out, I never said I can sing but I know a great cover when I here it. This was terrible..... Listen to this again with out drinking the cool aide and smoking weed. She screams too much and mutilated an iconic song. Face it, this cover was sub par. She sounds angry for no reason other than to sound angry. It is not an angry song but a gritty rock anthem. It is was driving my car and heard this on Indi radio I would drive full speed off the nearest cliff to stop the pain.
Im very chill homey and appreciate her version. No Kool-Aid or substance involved. You have continuously to try to bring her art and interpretation down of one of her biggest influence. I like the aggressiveness of the song and if you don’t, move along. Pretty simple concept.
@@robmarsili1450 You say you are chill but obviously you are a huge fan boy, personally know this girl or have no taste in music. Compare this version the original and you will hear why Meat has had a 45 year music career, the # 4 best selling album all time and was praised universally for his strong vocals. This girl will not enjoy the same success. History will prove one of us correct and the other a fool. I would wager a huge sum of coin that I am correct. Criticism is essential for any artist if improvement and growth is to happen. She put herself out there and must take criticism as well as praise. She is mediocre at best. Two other Tubers, Andie Case and Lanie Gardner have incredible voices that can propel them into the stratosphere. I believe Lanie just signed with the Jonas Brothers label. Andie is equally as good as Lanie but seems to like being an Indie.
@@davejones1959 Hi, guys.
Rob, would you mind if I step in for a quick spin around the dance floor with our new Steinbuddy?
No, you don’t mind? Great. Thank you, Rob.
Dave - I want to take you up on your wager offer. But before I unpack the details of that, I want to tell you why I share Rob’s ire over your brazenly acerbic comments. You said, “Criticism is essential for any artist if improvement and growth is to happen.” That’s absolutely true, but it’s ONLY absolutely true when the offered criticism is constructive, not destructive - helpful, not hurtful - tasteful, not offensive. An example might be useful. Scroll up a bit in the comments section to this video. Keep scrolling, keep scrolling - wait, no … not that far, that’s the comment I posted (Oh, yeah - “gobsmacked … behemoth … titan, assassin, avenger” - yeah, I remember that … :) - okay, okay, back on track here - scroll around and look for the comment by a guy named “Poppa D.” After opining that Lauren’s performance of “Bat Out Of Hell” was probably the best version he’s heard, he said, “[i]f I could add a slight constructive criticism, the ‘like a sinner’ line should be more ‘breathy.’ Meat had that perfected.” Now, THAT’s how it’s done! Poppa D’s suggestion is a palatable popover of thoughtful critique, baked to golden perfection in the specialty ovens of simplicity, insight, and good intentions. Your comments, on the other hand, are an unsavory goulash of gratuitous vitriol, seasoned with a store-bought packet of malignant insults and a stinging pinch of sanctimony. “[T]he voice is terrible,” “please do not quit your day job,” “or you just do not (sic) the chops to tackle such a legend,” “mutilate,” “this was terrible,” “without drinking the (sic) cool aid,” “full speed off the nearest cliff to stop the pain,” “she is mediocre at best.” That’s NOT how it’s done! And that’s why Rob and I (acting on behalf of the rest of Lauren’s ravenous fan base) are taking you to task.
But I’m not going to get stuck in a circuit of endless rounds of verbal jousting with you. I’m going to do something far more productive. Like I said at the outset, I’m going to take you up on your wager offer. You said, “[t]his girl will not enjoy the same success. History will prove one of us correct and the other a fool. I would wager a huge sum of coin that I am correct.” I assume that you meant that Lauren won’t achieve “a significant level of success” and NOT that she won’t reach the level of success that Meat Loaf achieved. (If you DID mean that you would make a considerable bet that Lauren won’t reach Meat Loaf’s level of success, then I really don’t know what to say. I don’t think there’s a name yet for that species of … what is it - stupidity?)
So, ok, let’s do it - here’s my proposal:
1. Each of us deposits $1,000.00 into an escrow account. I’m a lawyer and, as such, I have a lawyer’s trust account. The money could go into that account, or if you’re not comfortable with that, we could use a third-party escrow agent.
2. We mutually establish what “a significant level of success” is, using a blend of Lauren’s personal goals and a set of objective criteria points to make that determination.
3. We set an end date - a date down the road at which time we assess whether Lauren has achieved a “significant level of success.” I say she absolutely will. You say she absolutely won’t. If I’m right, the $2,000.00 in the escrow account will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Lauren’s name. If you’re right, you’ll have two choices: (A) donate the full $2,000.00 to a charity of your choice; or (B) (if you really have to add “parsimony” on top of “sanctimony” in that ghastly goulash recipe of yours) receive your $1,000.00 back and donate my $1,000.00 to a charity of your choice.
So, do we have a deal?
Don’t think I’m serious? Call my bluff by emailing me for confirmation. My email address is Bmarcus.x@Gmail.com.
Have a good night!
please, sing Im gonna love her for both of us!!!!!!!
