Jim Steinman passed away yesterday, these magical moments will never be repeated, R.I.P...
Absolutely Paul. RIP to the legend!
And now Meatloaf has joined him.
And now Meatloaf...
I love how Meatloaf is still blown away.
Yeah me too because he can be quite blown away by himself for much less reasons.
There is literally nothing on this earth that rocks harder than an electric guitar doing a motorcycle
RIP Jim Steinman, your genius will never be forgotten
YEAH wtf are you talking about? Steinman just wanted some sound effect or recording. Todd Rundgren is the one who made it happen. And _that_ is why Jim says TR is the only person he has worked with who he considers a genius.
The guitar in bat out of hell is probably some of my favorite music of all time
RIP Jim. You made an album that was not only unprecedented, but will never be repeated.
Bat out of hell 2? :)
Bat Out Of Hell is reaching 45 years old soon this year and will always be a masterpiece. We have lost two geniuses.
RIP Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf.
They will compose more new songs in heaven :)
This is just my humble opinion of course but I think that is one of the most amazing pieces of guitarmanship ever commit to analogue tape. WOW Todd! Thanks for the upload.
Absolutely agree. Especially if it happened the way that they said, in 1 take,
Yes, totally with you on this. Too bad it doesn't get mentioned wt the usual guitar hero list
@@shankerr484 Todd Rundgren is truly underrated. If you saw everything he's been involved with, your jaw would be on the floor.
Was deeply saddened when I heard the news a few weeks ago of Jim's passing. One of the legendary song writers of our time.
Would really love to hear the isolated guitar track from start to finish. I had an art teacher who said (paraphrasing) "what makes a masterpiece is not just that the whole painting is genius, but that every unique element within the painting is also genius."
I totally agree. Especially the guitar track in this is so atmospheric.
You were lucky to have such a wise teacher. Most of us see the painting. Appreciate the history, the subject, etc. You experience the painting then break it down.
@@thomcorp yeh lucky to get the atmosphere more like
Listen to Eric bell
incredible guitar solo - and incredible vocals - and incredible writing...sometimes great things come out of a rare collaboration.
That solo still gives me chills its so good
That was brilliant to have a motorbike sound on a record in such a cool song.
One of the greatest moments in rock history its thats simple
This album really takes me back to my youth. Thanks 👍🇨🇦
I always loved this moment on the record. Totally badass guitar performance by Todd.
Bat outta Hell was my first Album as a Teenager back in the 80s. I To This Day Have That Album In a Frame in my Home. "In The Arm's Of The Loving Angel's Jim Steinman, Mr Michael Aday. Meatloaf" The World Has Lost Two Amazing Beautiful Soul's. Todd Is In My Kindest Thoughts. Bat Outta Hell Will go Down in History as The Best Ever Collaboration of Geniuses. Oh How my thoughts are with the Families left behind. From Australia x 🕯🕯
Jim Steinman is a musical genius.
I'm in shock over Meat's passing. RIP.
So am I. I love his music so much! My dad got me a Bat Out of Hell shirt a few weeks after he passed. And man, I wish I could turn back to the 70s to see him live!
I grew up with this album and song in my house for so many years, add Queen, Tubular Bells, Bonnie Tyler, Pipe Organ Music, its no wonder i have a great ear........
I love Jim Steinman and was sad to hear about his passing. I still play his album Bad for Good regularly. Bat out of Hell was basically 80% Steinman, 10% Meatloaf and 10% Rundgren.
More like 40% Steinman, 40% Rundgren and 20% Meatloaf. I'd give Bad for Good 60% Steinman, 40% Rundgren imho.... There was no record like Bat without TR.
@@DonMacGillivray You're probably right about Rundgren, one of the great producers, even at a young age.
Todd is definitely the most underrated artist of our time! No doubt about it!
Really> I think not.
@@bluemeanee57 To each their own.....
the guitar solos of all guitar solos brilliant
I love Guitar's & motorcycle's xx
When I saw this video a couple of weeks ago, my mind was absolutely mind blown. Few weeks later,. still mind blown.
It baffles me why Todd isn’t in the RRHOF
If he did (what someone else said in another video about how much of a joke it is lol) someone said "he should just say "hello its me" and walk off" lol
Thank the dipshits behind Rolling Stone Magazine who think artists like Roxy Music and Janet Jackson are more deserving. Jann Wenner's pettiness is the biggest reason why Todd has been excluded.
Thankfully, way too late, the wrong has been righted last week.
@@Hulkhoagie1 Er, why isn't Roxy Music deserving? Are you mad? But yeah, it is criminal that Todd isn't in yet. Makes zero sense.
Todd - “Little Red Lights” off of “Something/Anything”
yes its very reminiscent
Remember that Todd recorded the motorcycle guitar in ONE TAKE!
Lightning in a Bottle.
Not that complicated t.b.h
Rip Jim
His name is Robert Paulson.
Best dang thing ever ..thanks mr meats n the epps .. good stuff ..😁pip pips
From the “Classic Albums” lineup of documentaries.
Superb
Meatloaf died today... A sad day for music.
This was so cool!
This is probably the healthiest I’ve seen Meat. He looks like Tom Arnold a bit.
I've always thought the same about how healthy he looks. Reading a bit about him lately, he had suffered for years with chronic back pain with successive surgeries making it worse.
@@thomcorp that would be tough.
They are in my top 25 so yes they are a great band....Jim steinman ur an a amazing person and talented to the extreme....but meat loaf is the man...
Just remember that the "motorcycle" in Bat out of Hell is also a guitar
Do you mean like the title says and the whole video is about?
@thomcorp I guess youtube had an aneurism considering I commented this on a short about a different guitarist changing the tune of the guitar on the fly.
So bad ass!
genius in every way
Wow, never knew that
Oba prima do Rock 👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷
That's why Todd is god
Aside from the motorcycle and all, how does that blue dry-erase marker float above the soundboard?
Wow well spotted. I've never noticed that. It's so weird that it took me a little bit to work out what was going on. It's actually the shadow of each of the sliders. You can see at the beginning when Meat is raising his right hand it interferes with the shadows. What makes this even weirder is that the other sliders that are not in front of the pen, have weaker different shadows. It looks like that there are 2 or 3 lights coming from camera left creating different shadows of varying strength. Really weird though.
@@thomcorp 💯
Are the isolated tracks available anywhere?
What are the amp and tone settings!!!!
My question is how the fuck did Rundgren do it? Just really heavy whammy bar abuse?
That's what I always assumed, but I never knew it was one take with the guitar solo. There were no locking trems, and even a perfectly set up Fender bridge can only take so much, so how on Earth did that guitar stay in tune?
Very impressive. But of course you'd need great musicians to back up awesome vocals.
This is jim Cornett 😂wwf fans will know
Don't show or explain how he did it. It sounds like a fuzz pedal and a guitar with a whammy bar.
On both this and another doco where Steinman describes it, they both say he just adjusted some knobs on his amp.
Where’s the motorcycle?

Dump the floyd rose n let the strings flap about & play around with it alittle
@@icarus1416 Floyd Rose wasn't available in '77. Eddie started using them in '79-'80.
Any vintage tremolo abuse would do it. A perfect setup guitar would then stay in tune for the solo or there about "sufficiently" in tune.
