The black box is the data communication module for telematics(starlink) disconnecting it will cause all sorts of problems. It's good you noted it in the video because some videos just have it removed and that box actually let's the car communicate in the event of a crash and if you remove it your warranty could(and most likely will) be voided for some things
So what's that module got exactly? I'm out of warranty already anyway and I've never ever used any starlink stuff. Do I really need it for the front speakers to work?

And you kinda have to man handle the unit and push it into place. Like i thought i was going to break it, that’s how tight the fitment is. Looks oem.
the antenna you have plugged in the back of the unit. was that actually so the unit can have cel service on its own (with its own sim) or blutooth (isnt there a smaller BT transmitter on the unit in another cable) ?

@@ElectricShock14 Installed mine 2 weeks ago after your recommendation. After figuring out the mess of nonsense wires in the package, it was super simple to install. Had a few quirky bugs at first but the system seemed to figure itself out after a few power off/on cycles. This thing is absolutely amazing.....Thank you so much for your video and information man. I am beyond stoked with this unit

What does the Starlink box connect to? I have a 2019 Subaru WRX Premium with Starlink and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the iDoing Head Unit.
You can get a USB retention harness that plugs into the OEM cable for the car's USB and use that to pass the aftermarket head unit's USB to the OEM port.

@@MrPapiBoi yeah you should start from the bottom. Attach the bottom first, then move up to the middle. When you push the middle, use the top corners of the screen bezel to push it in. Don’t worry about breaking the screen, just push it until it snaps in.
Hey bro I am having issue installing mine. I'm not able to get sound to the front speakers and when I make calls I can't hear anything but the mic works. Would you be able to help? I have one connector on the headunit that doesn't seem to have a connection from the car but everything else is working. Thank u for ur time

I got one of those in my car already, got CarPlay, Bluetooth, and stuff. You can always buy extra plates or whatever that makes it flush and oem too

I have a 2018 STI Stock aswell. Did you have to by any additional cables or does the unit come with everything to work like Backup camera.

Yeah got mine working, WiFi can be a bit finnicky but I got it working well!

There is a remote wire that you connect your amp remote wire to on one of the idoing harnesse! Just got mine and it works great.
