The radio stations need to play Ian Hunters original version of this song. Everybody thinks great white did this song. This a Ian hunter song. Love Ian. All the way from Memphis. Love Ian and Mott the hoople
@@billybandyk0720I never really thought GW’s version sucked (probably because I myself was a teen at the time and thought GW was the original artist)but I’m so glad I found this ORIGINAL version to rock out to! I’m now going to research Ian Hunter and learn more about him and his music! 🎶👍
@@aaronshane37 Exactly my fuckin' point. 2 clarify matters; I do stand by what I said RE: Great White' version sucking. W/all due respect 2 Jack Russell's passing; it's probably the production of their version of this song that sucks. Nvrthlss; glad that u discovered the original by Ian Hunter. I just found that in a lot of old LP’s my husband bought from an auction. I didn’t know who the guy was but pulled it out and put it into my “to listen to” pile because it looked interesting. Glad to know I made a good choice.
I won an album on a radio station back in the early 80's Ian Hunter Live and I didn't know this dude or his music but after listening to him I was hooked I still have the album a little worn but still sounds good. Thanks Ian HUNTER for the great music you play.
Ian Hunter was extremely underrated. Mott the hoople didn't start getting AirPlay until all the Young dudes album, and yet they still should have gotten more airPlay from that album and the following two.
Last few times I saw Ian it was so disappointing to have idiots constantly yelling out song requests. Do they think he's going to forget to play All the Young Dudes?
'Allo. The 'Once Bitten,Twice Shy' single made the Top 10 in Australia.back in '76,or it may have just been in Melbourne. That'd make sense. Awesome groove, catchy as hell dirty, bluesy riff, and that perfect piano, pretty heavy for back then all up and the words and their delivery sleazy enough.Loved this song from the first time i heard 'Allo, onwards.Straight up grabbed me in a similar way to a fair few other English artists around that time.[Damn you English came up with some sensational music back then that's shaped my music life tremendously.]Took a few years to pick up on some of the double entendres on this, however. One of the numbers of songs that really whet my appetite as a just-about-to-turn-teenage kid.Ian Hunter is a legend rocker who was 77 when he made his most recent record,[i believe] Mate! You just gotta love, admire and respect that! Could think of worse ways to go out than with your Les Paul in your hands, still crankin' it out loud in your 80's or more. Way Worse!
And God walked among them, and held His les paul high and lo, they came to worship at His feet. For He was The One, The Only One and forever they will love the song that He played.
mick was the sound of bowie and he owes so much to micks fabulous guitar playing ....and of course mick was the biggest guitar show off ever on stage !
Ian Hunter was SO underrated ! Such a bummer he didn't get US airplay. That's ok, trusted rockers know and love him. How about naming an album , " You're never alone with a schizophrenic. ". Classic !!!!
I saw him once in Lowell Mass, early 80s. Great show! One of his Roadies bought an ounce of weed for him from me... I think I charged him fifty bucks at the time...
Happy Birthday Ian Hunter born on June 3, 1939. He is an English singer-songwriter and musician who is best known as the lead singer of the English rock band Mott the Hoople. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Hunter_(singer)
He says in interviews he can’t really hear those he has influenced but after the two minute mark I can see why The Clash were big fans and Mick Jones went regularly to see Hunter with Mott and there is the Ellen Foley connection but Ian Hunter also tells this story of letting in a broke skinny 14 year old called John in to a gig in the north somewhere via the back door who only turned into the legendary punk rock vocalist Joe Strummer.
Total Bedlam after 2:10.....I LOVE IT ❤️!!!!! I wish I could have been there to experience it....and to think all this time I thought it was Great White’s song. They did a Helluva good job too but nothing compared to this:)
Bill Keith Channel - “His voice is total crap”? How are you even able to type a comment when your head is jammed so deep up your own ass? You obviously don’t get the genuine article. Just stick to your lame 80’s hair bands and their mediocrity.
Great.White took this song and slayed it! Best thing that ever happened for Ian Hunter. Hunter screams the song, while Jack Russell's could sing it. No comparison!!
Great tune!!! Mick Ronson!! I think Ian Hunter was the leader of Moot the Hoople but not till the end, I think there are two later albuns without Hunter......
My favorite music of all times is that British Rock sound from the late 60s and 70s I just love it. Unfortunately Great White did a much better job on this song from a singing perspective and Jack Russel is simply better singer than Ian. Although I would pay a small fortune to go see Ian Hunter and Mic Ronson play my gosh what a treat that would have been. Those guys were simply amazing.
What a GREAT song. I just prefer Great White's cover of it. Jack Russell took it to another level. The song was way ahead of it's time when it was written in 1975
2024, it still rocks and at 67 still love it. Hearing makes me feel young!
Ian Hunter was the original Once Bitten Twice Shy song master.
Ian Hunter, the only Brit who does not lose his accent when singing

Old school rock n roll. Ian Hunter can rock with the best of them
The tone on Ronno's Les Paul... no words really. So good to see him at his best and in great health. We miss you down here. Rest easy King!
Ikr, it's unreal and so much is just in his hands. Few effects. Just a kickass classic guitar/amp & super rare talent!
@@bul166 Alot of his tone was due to a half cocked wah pedal.
You’re Never Alone with a Schizophrenic… one classic album, and an even better tour… especially with Mick Ronson at Ian’s side!!
I just found that in a lot of old LP’s my husband bought from an auction. I didn’t know who the guy was but pulled it out and put it into my “to listen to” pile because it looked interesting. Glad to know I made a good choice.
I am hooked ! Love this song , just can not get enough . Nothing better than the original version by Ian Hunter . So cool music!
Completely awesome! Rock n roll at it's finest!
Saw Hunter on this tour Summer 79 a couple months later in Detroit with The Kinks. GREAT show...
Arguably, one of the greatest Rock 'N' Roll solos of all time...Ronno is killin' it!
This is a great rendition but surely your not that sheltered!
a fine musician and saddly missed by alot of us thankyou so much for what you gave us

Michael Valentas I have that album also 👌
Saw Mick Ronson in 1974 with Bowie and Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. When they did Moonage Dream I was blown away by .icks guitar!!
Wow! Ian Hunter can play guitar and drums at the same time!!
The original and still the best version of this 'classic' song!
Hell ya
The wtiter version captures artist heart.
Great Whites version rocked it to a whole d level they gave it deserved justice . Love the song ,thanks Ian

been a huge fan since this song was released in Australia - Hunter is a great songwriter and musician - and - oh year Mick Ronosn played with him....
The Live Versions of OBTS with Mick Ronson gives me Chills
Absolute anarchy from 2:10 on, the way it should be. Great White really ripped the guts right out of this tune. Thanks, Ian.
Yep. Great White aren’t fit to pluck the corn kernels from Hunter and Ronson’s turds. This is the real deal.
Godly music sucks my soul and gets me jumpin' and a jivin'. One of my all time favourite songs !!!!
Still just two years from graduating when Ian and company did this oh so cool song. Grew up Cleveland. 1965-1981
East or west side?

Remember rocking an 8 track. All the way from Memphis and violence. Mick Ronson great guitarist and Ian Hunter good old 70's rock

Ronson is one of the most underrated musicians of all time... Ian Hunter is flat out brilliant and ageless...
I remember when this concert happened. Saw Ian 4 times and loved the music.
Last few times I saw Ian it was so disappointing to have idiots constantly yelling out song requests. Do they think he's going to forget to play All the Young Dudes?
Saw this same show @ The Agora Houston....This one recorded @ The Agora mother ship Clevland
Happy Birthday !!!!! Great Ian. Thank You for the Music !
Sad to have only learned last night they were the writers but this version has more energy. This is what it was meant to sound like
Just fantastic!!! Thank you Mum and Dad for having me in '48 so I could experience this stuff.
i just found the best rocknroll band ever! i'm telling friends
That’s Cleveland Ohio with Mick Ronson on lead guitar. Legendary!🎸🤘🏼
Filmed at the Cleveland Agora Ballroom. Alot of calssic concerts done there. Cleveland Rocks!!!
Ian has the IT factor when it comes to rock n roll swag. . . You can bet I will always dance my ass off to his version, the original!
Back to my youth.. Hell yeah, Ian Hunter, Mick Ronsen and some beer
Blistering performance! Mick Ronson so cool!!
Ian Hunter, love Ian so much I named my first born Ian Reynolds after His Name The Great Randini 1956 ROCK N ROLL..
Hunter....A proper Rock god.
I love when it kicks in !
These were the days, so lucky I was to be part of it then.
Cleveland rocks! Ronson rocks! Ian STILL rocks! (Mick in 'is bowling shirt - a long way from silver eyeshadow and spandex!)
Mick Ronson is still a hero in my home town of Hull :)

So underrated. From Mott the Hoople until today. Nice to see old footage of Mick Ronson.
Awesome. Unapologetic classic rock.
Timeless...just like Ian!
And God walked among them, and held His les paul high and lo, they came to worship at His feet. For He was The One, The Only One and forever they will love the song that He played.
Nobody could get the crowd up on its feet like Ian Hunter and Mott the Hoople.
ian hunter....happy birthday to you....loved you for years!!...born 3rd june 1939!
This version of this song definitely has a mix of 70s Rolling Stones and (Rod Stewart / The Faces) kind of sound too it .
mick was the sound of bowie and he owes so much to micks fabulous guitar playing ....and of course mick was the biggest guitar show off ever on stage !
Check the dictionary: under Rock ‘n’ Roll, this is the definition.
