This song was my introduction to Ian Hunter. I was instantly hooked upon hearing this on FM radio in summer 1979 and duly bought the 45 and then the album shortly afterward which turned me onto Mott The Hoople. Not bad for a young teenager who was about to start high-school later that year..
I have seen him do this song live and it is one of the most memorable concerts I have ever seen. I have not since seen anyone involve the crowd as well as Ian Hunter. A true rock and roll legend
I always wondered where this petite person got this amazing voice. For those who don't know, Ellen Foley was Meat Loaf's singing partner in "Paradise By A Dashboard Light", not the lady in the video.
@@clash4everSorry 2 "burst ur bubble" (so 2 speak) but Meat Loaf's singing partner from "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights" & the woman in this video r 1 & THE SAME!!!!! In fact; Ellen Foley's also an actress who was on the original "Night Court" (she preceded the late Markie Post as the District Atty).
@@vmax4steve524 Ok; however; the female w/Meat Loaf in the Paradise By The Dashboard Lights" video does have a slight resemblance 2 the female in this video (both women r named Ellen Foley). W/that said; I personally believe that they r 1 & the same. That's what I MEANT!!!!!

I love Ellen Foley. I always thought she was a looker the three albums that she put out under her own name are excellent as well.
