It was a beautiful afternoon in Hermosa Beach at the Lighthouse Cafe as they hosted the incredible “Mood Lifters - A Tribute to Rush” for an epic 3-hour show. This Southern California-based group of four virtuoso musicians has been called the world's greatest Rush tribute, and I give my endorsement that they live up to that title.
As part of their show, it was amazing to see the Mood Lifters perform Rush's 1981 "Moving Pictures" album in its entirety amidst a mind-blowing selection of Rush's greatest hits. The power of the music was so intense that it gave me goosebumps at times and even had me on the brink of tears.
The Mood Lifters truly accomplished their stated mission, "that the music of Rush deserves to be honored by faithful and accurate reproduction, with energy and enthusiasm, in every single performance."
