Turns out it's my doing, ergo it also means it isn't a 2.2 indev thing at all unfortunately because this has no STJr involvement. "Grand Eggship" in this context is talking about the old Sonic: Emerald Quest MIDI I made a remaster for, among the others in said link, which S:EQ was the old game STJr was planning to make way back then but never really got past anywhere apart from a bunch of MIDIs that Arrow made (not Emerald Quest the 2.2 mod, completely different and coincidental). Grand Eggship Zone for whatever version of SRB2 it comes out in the future takes its name from the S:EQ MIDI, because if it stayed its old name, Doomship, then the acronym would be the same as Deep Sea - "DSZ". Sorry that people in the comments have been pretty much listening to a lie, but in the weird way that this has been presented and thus reached some form of audience, I am still kinda glad it has been getting praise, lol.

I don't know about the other musicians, but I don't really keep an archive of the various forms my songs take. I kind of work on them until I'm done with them, and that ends up being their final form.
What I find most fascinating is the sheer variety of these indev tracks: there's remastered 2.1 tracks (GFZ), midway points between 2.1 and 2.2 (VS Eggman), and mostly finished 2.2 tracks (CEZ, ACZ)... then there's DSZ1 and the RVZ themes, which take the compositions in entirely different directions from either 2.1 or 2.2, while still being recognizable as their respective zones.
This beta ost has its own different feel from the final ost. The only words I really have to describe it is "sensational" or "mystical", for some of the tracks anyways then again, im bad at describing Also where is that shot of RVZ 2 from? Both act 1 and 2, they're like the final version but without the effects that make them sound "bubblier". Idk what it is, but i like how theese feel more raw

GFZ1: Sounds a little bit too much like a midi. GFZ2: What is this!? Ancient Egypt!? THZ1: It’s pretty much the same song just with more treble THZ2: Hits so hard for no reason. DSZ1: Sounds really ominous, and god damn this just slaps! It kind of hurts how they didn’t add it! DSZ1 old: I’m 90% sure this is just Azure Temple from 2.1. DSZ2: Literally just a remix of the pre 2.2 versions. CEZ1: Eh. The intro sounds kind of prehistoric(!?). The song honestly lacks some instruments and the main melody is a little bit loud. CEZ2: The organ at the start fits pretty well for a castle theme level. The rest of the song is good too. ACZ1: The main melody is different and there’s BARELY a difference in the intro. Sounds good tho ACZ2: Eh. Not much to say here. It just sounds different. ACZ2 alt: HOLY FUCK!!! HOW DID THEY REJECT THIS IT SOUNDS LEGENDARY!!! RVZ1: This sounds cool as hell. I like the intro. Not much to say. RVZ2: The new one sounds better, with it’s guitar. This still sounds good tho. ERZ1: Only noticeable difference is the guitar, which is muffled. (also the piano sounds more old-timey?) Thank GOD they changed it. ERZ1 old: It’s a cool rendition of the old one. ERZ2: This sounds weird. Not bad, just kinda weird. But it’s pretty good! ERZ2 old: Meh… the piano at the start kinda ruins the song. BCZ1: Holy FUCK. Probably a remix of the Sonic 4 music? This sounds amazing! BCZ2: Sounds cool. Not much else to say. BCZ3: Sounds like a bizzare combination of the 2.1 and 2.2 version. FHZ: Sounds kind of like a dream or something? Maybe one of those old computer games? There were multiple iterations of these GFZ1 and GFZ2 reworks that were far more closely based off of the original by Dave before I gave it over to clairebun.
I think overall the final is better (in particular I dislike how much this one uses square waves and FM sounds, makes it feel trying too hard to be retro) but these aren't bad arrangements.
A lot of it was messing around with different ideas. I typically like incorporating chiptunes into my own songs, which is why it was prevelant in these WIPs. Sev and Dr. T also use a lot more synthy sounds than I do, so I would try to incorporate some of their sounds I liked. There's a reason they're WIPs. We hadn't decided on the sound yet.
One thing I was hoping for is that the mod containing this music on the Workshop is converted into a .pk3 file. Those are much better and easier to use than .wad files if you ask me. I left a review on the workshop about the mod, and what I said up here, I also said there. Other than that, no other words about the indev soundtrack of SRB2 v2.2.
its not hard to modify the file to be .pk3, but ive made it .wad file for simplicity's sake, as theres literally nothing hard with containing the music files
Man, if they won't reconsider to at least add this draft of RVZ2 to the OST, I will be really disappointed, it sounds so better. And I swear 27:11 sounds very similar, like I've heard this motif before in Sonic or somewhere else. The new RVZ2 sounds more polished, yeah, but also kinda bland and I don't like the instruments at the start, while in this old version, man it sounds so serious and kinda anxious. And also I really wish we would've gotten this more serious BCZ1 theme, rather than just a Metal Sonic remix. A lot of those tracks really capture the feeling like 2.2 was supposed to be very different from where it is now. Also knowing the dev history and how many levels was not changed except visually, makes me feel like they really should've delayed this version by a year, to polish everything around... and not make ERZ clash with new design philosophy. Also why did they cut Fang melody so much? It has so much going on and also a cool homage to Sonic 2 8-bit's boss theme.

That was one Nev3r was working on. As far as I remember, he wasn't a huge fan of how it sounded. I did do a live recording of it, but it was ultimately scrapped.
Not really sure what the big differences are, but I could probably make one once I get my PC up and running again. I just gave the raws to clairebun and she added some production to them. Otherwise, both THZs didn't change much outside of our mixing preferences.

The only thing I really miss from the older soundtracks is the more rock and roll roots, but the OST improvements were a massive step in polish.

Not really a leak. These were just the unlisted 2018 2.2 soundtracks plus some random ones devs posted. And there's thousands of versions of indev
the only 2019 unlisted versions here are THZ1-2 CEZ1, other themes were got from now deleted indev playlist and used here
