Haha thank you. I try to cut as much of the boring stuff as I can and I try to keep the nonsense to a minimum. What's funny is I just filmed an unboxing on Monday. I only did it because it's the new Rustler 4x4 that doesn't come out until next month. Don't worry though, the unboxing is only like a minute of the video. I slap a battery in it and get to bashing pretty quickly.
@@outsourcedrc hey I think it does help actually. It shortens the stroke of the shock. So if the shock can only extend so far then a direct set of events would be that the rods can only droop so far. So all things being equal then it should be a great help in the very least.
This mod is specifically to keep the rod ends from popping off. Shock bumper on the inside of the shock on the shaft. Works wonders. Doesn't let the rear suspension bottom out.
Good thing. I really hope to waste less of mine. Just too hard to stop jumping so as soon as I find the hardware for the straps, I should be good. My Home Depot app can't find the exact screws and spacers and when I go in there, they don't have the same CrownBolt brand in the bags and no metric. I'm in S. Louisiana lol. I have the 100mm straps ready. ;-)
Gotta agree, I’ve put the same on mine and one of them bent on the first run! Mine had plastic rod ends and I had one stripped so far. Going back to the stock push rods with RPM short rod ends so hopefully this will work as I can’t find limiting straps in stock anywhere at the moment!
Hey man. Have you thought of trying the RPM true trac arm upgrade? I think that maybe if you get the true track upgrade from rpm and also have limiting straps, maybe itll finally be the end to those pushrods popping out.
@@Beanflip If it works, it works. Its a cheap mod and is worth a try. There really is no reason not to do it. Maybe i will do that mod and test it out by landing on the chassis.
@@outsourcedrc the steel ones? I just ordered those. Also bro did you dry the damping thing inside the shock? That fixed it for anyone's who's tried it
Bent my stock ones and looking for a long lasting solution. been told the right ones are 5318X which also need 8647 rod ends. Did you find a solution to the problem?
tried the 5318x with stock plastic rod ends 8647 and seems fine. I guess using the aluminium rod ends as you did is not ok as there is no flexible element. However in my setup I have to change the rod ends sometimes but that's way better than bending or snapping the actual push rods. Rod ends ended up in my "consumables" list with this truck :)
I think this rc (the Revo 2.0) in general will take the 2018 award for "Most time spent on the repair table". On mine, the right rear axle pops out all the time, and strips out the rod end on that particular link when it does. I tried replacing it with an RPM rod end, same thing. Tried a set of Integy rod ends and ended up snapping the threads off the link doing a simple jump. I did the limiting strap mod he posted a while ago. I used zip ties as a test run run to set the slack limit, finally so far so good. Holy hell this rc is NOT built to go airborne!
They were the "short" rod ends, although they are the same length as a Slash 4x4 rod end. I used said Slash rod end as a quick repair, had to trim it back to match the e revo length. That worked as a quick fix.
I’ve been watching,,I have the same problem. Tried everything,,,,I’m thinking maybe fabricating. From stock metal solid pieces,,although it may cause strain on the plastic. Maybe infuse some sort of cushion at the rod ends to alleviate some of the shock.....
Started watching your vids about a month ago and subbed today. You do a great job explaining your upgrades and comparisons. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I try. It seems I always forget something after I've uploaded the video lol
Thank you! I almost bought those for mine! I appreciate you bro!
They are good for racing, but not for bashing
Love this guys vids just simple buy something stick it on and jump and review it getting fed up of so many other unboxing vids

Trick I seen for rod Iends popping is the rubber stopper for the shock that it on inside the shock also to limit down travel
That doesnt help with the rod ends.

Thanks for the review. Glad I haven't tried em yet. Bummer.
I waste my money so you don't have to!

Need maybe some MIP parts for E-Revo 2.0?
I don't know which MIP parts you mean.
Wishful thinking on my part. I don't think they make much yet for E-Revo 2

I'm testing out some titanium ones right now. I'm not sure how well they are going to work.
Great video straight to the point! Good job sir. I agree with you this revo is heavy!
Thanks! I try to make videos I like. I'm glad you liked it too!
Thanks for the heads up and the review.
I spend my money so you don't have to!
I tried them also, the heim joint wears very quickly
Thanks for experimenting for us great information in your videos, quick question I was wondering what batteries you run in the e revo
They are Venom 3s 5000mah 35c 11.1v.
Outsourced RC did you change the connectors or use the adaptors
The batteries come with ends you can swap out. They actually click into the Traxxas connectors. They work well.
Outsourced RC I’ve used Venom for awhile thanks for the info looks like I don’t have to buy new ones 👍🏻
I’ve been doing a lot of research, I think I may fabricate my own system. If it works I’ll post a vid! Thanks guys
Well?
Hey man. Have you thought of trying the RPM true trac arm upgrade? I think that maybe if you get the true track upgrade from rpm and also have limiting straps, maybe itll finally be the end to those pushrods popping out.
Those true track arms dont impact the push rods, just the toe links
What was your final solution to this problem?
Check out my latest videos! I test out some aluminum push rod ends. I kinda think I'm going to go back to just using plastic rodends.
Outsourced RC I believe I saw the video. What do you think about this solution ua-cam.com/video/gr3zHqVE5l0/v-deo.html

Hey, I know this is an old vid. But I was thinking about titanium pushrods have you found and tried this setup
yep. I have a video on it. I bent them right away.

What is the fix? I'm cruyinggggggg

Are they longer than factory ? I ordered some they came from China .... there longer than the factory’s reading 112mm
yes they are.
Bent my stock ones and looking for a long lasting solution. been told the right ones are 5318X which also need 8647 rod ends. Did you find a solution to the problem?
Not yet. I'm still working on a few ideas. I have a video where I try the RPM rod ends. I didn't like those.

yeah I snapped them on v1 e Revo. they look really nice though 😁
I just wish the 2.0 rod ends were not out of stock all the time
nice video and try Lunsford Racing titanium push rods
I found some complete titanium rods with rod ends I'm going to try.
U bought the wrong ones, buy the aluminum ones with plastic ends they are way better
Did you heat them up before installing? That's the problem

Nah, my V1 stays broken. My 2.0'is rarely down compared to how much a run it.
What integy rod ends? Did they come on rods or was it just the end?

Push rods? Does your rc have a v engine
No, it has cantilever suspension.
I know im late but thanks for the info I was about to get some for my E-Revo 2.0 but f*ck that! Keep up the good work.
At least you got here in time!
I am breaking my 2.0 all the time! I just blew the rear end out of it on the 4th!
You broke the rear Diff??
