Music video by Thin Lizzy performing Dear Miss Lonely Hearts. (C) 1977 Mercury Records Limited
Brian downy has to be one of the worlds greatest drummers, who unfortunately does not get enough recognition.... The man's a legend.....
He gets recognition from us Lizzy fans and that's all that matters.,
Never flashy or bombastic, but one of the best in pocket players of all time
Lonely girl.
RIP Phil Lynott (August 20, 1949 - January 4, 1986), aged 36
You will be remembered as a legend.
Man Phil has such an energy, Its something that I can't explain but Its impossible for me to watch any Thin Lizzy video without making a huge smile, see him singing with such love makes me so happy!!!!
I get that. Its charisma. He radiates it.
Phil's a legend
❤
What a legend i wasnt even born when this came out , but i would take this over any shit today
Does music get better than this? Thanks Phil!
Pop rock perfection
No
Music does not get better than this
Snowy White! Phew!
You're a musician..no discredited to anybody else but. ..hey its perfect.
Probably one of the greatest phrasing of lyrics ever.
Big up thin lizzie xxx😮
Lizzy had such a unique sound. What a great band they were.
the best.. I found them last year and I am 100000% sure they will stay the best for me until I die
This ain't Thin Lizzy per say, but Lynnot solo
@@peterknicked It's Lizzy lol. Look at the band. Phil's song from Phil's solo album but that's classic Thin Lizzy up there.
Dear miss lonley heart ...
The Man is smiling all the way here,
One of the all time greats for sure
My favourite band ever, still listen to the live and dangerous album every day, it’s so sad you not hear Phil, thanks for some of the greatest music ever written and played live, “ does anybody want a bit more Irish in them”
Drinking beer watching Lizzy videos. Love this band ❤
Salud mi amigo!! 🇲🇽
I've just pulled a load of records out of my garage and apart from the damp damage they're fine. I played Solo in Soho album by Phil Lynott and I'd forgotten what a great album it is. I once met Phil, at the old Marquee Club in Wardour Street, he wasn't playing but he was there and turned out to be a total gent. Brilliant album, brilliant bloke. Turn it up...
Love Lizzy and loved the Marquee. There's a Marquee group excellent for reminiscing.👍🍻
Samuel Beckett and James Joyce are like Funk ....are we from the same land as this beautiful man!
It's ecstatic when a group of musicians play together and everyone plays their part perfectly. No feeling better than you all being in the zone, feeding off each other. As a drummer, you don't even feel like you're keeping time, you're just one unit, working together, you're not keeping time any more than the guitarist. That's when you know that musical chemistry is good
The rock band of my teens. I only listened to thin lizzy. Timeless.....
A very underrated song - still love listening to it 40 yrs later :)
Philo was the man. Carisma like no other rockstar. Fantastic bass player and Singer. Lets not talk about his songwriting. It was to Good. We love you Philo. Can't wait for your movie. :)
Thank God this was my era. I'd hate to think I was a kid today listening to their shite.
I'm 19 and can listen to all this music way easier that you could in your era.
I've seen some off the so called greats in concert. And to this day Thin lizzy rank up as probley the best live concerts I've ever soon .I'm getting on a bit now it won't be many more years before I see phil rocking out again at the concert in the sky
Phil looked so charismatic, having fun with the words of this song and just being a great artist.
RIP Phil..🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Massive Lizzy fan Phil Lynott just a awesome singer songwriter frontman much missed legend
The rhyme and lyrics to this song are genius... RIP Phil an Irishman...
So glad I saw Phil and thin lizzy live..memories that live for ever..they will always be the best live band I've ever seen
Am so thankful I saw them for the first and only time at Reading on the Bank Holiday 1983. Miss Phil to this day....
Yep I second that, saw many live bands in the late 70s but Lizzy did it for me. I will never forget that night at bingley hall staffs.
me too. in NYC
i saw them twice in australia and they were better than ac/dc with bon scott
Phiol's style is brilliant in everyway
great song I could listen a lot of times in a repeat mode
great for guitarist-bassist too
Pure quality
Phil lynott et Thin Lizzy, excellentissime. .....
must not trust this guy 2:35 hahaha i laugh everytime at this scene
ye, same)
He, Scott was quiet “guilty” of Phills drug use and later death. Anyeay, a Rockers lifestyle. Still in love with you Phill.
Deisy Roncal You have no idea what you are talking about!
They were good friends 🙂
In my opinion one of the best worked lyrics of all time.
The song writing is soo sublime, philo we miss you!
Such a good and gifted man 🤩🙏 but unfortunately so much addicted to this damn drugs 😢😢 R.I.P. Phil still in love with you ❤
Timeless. Never ages in impact. My teen years come back everytime i listen to Phil. Well done 👏 thanks lizzy...
Lizzy have been my favourite band since 1979. It's not just the music either, the band had real swagger. You'll not get a more charismatic front man than Phil Lynott. Scott also had great charisma too. I know Snowy wasn't popular with some but I loved him in the band. He looked the part and he's a great player and Brian on drums, well what can I say? A band just couldn't get a better drummer. I also want to include the 'silent member' Jim Fitzpatrick. His album artwork sparked the magic for me.
Phil still looks well here ; i'm sure he did'nt abuse everything any worse than many other rock n roll guys ( keith richards etc etc ) and i'm sure that he would have been ok. He got an infection that killed him, admitedly the drugs and booze weakened him and made him more vulnerable to illness, but he was also unlucky
Grande mi Phil ❤️🔥
Gracias por siempre LYNOTT 🎶🌹💙🎸🎵
Y SU gran banda THIN LIZZY 🎶🙏🏻🎶
My all time hero.........(and the band also...)
What a band legands
Awesome tune from the golden days of music
one of my fav lizzy songs one of many
Agree 100%
This was his solo work. Still class 🎸🥁🎧🎤
My absolute favourite Thin Lizzy song.. so cheesey but I love it!
We miss you every day sweet prince.
Lonely boy ...
Epic song
Have the tingles listening to this. Miss Philo walking around town.
This is from a solo Phil Lynott album, solo in soho, still brilliant
But all Lizzy members played in the song...
Regardless of what who was taking what and who was clean. The music from those moments are with us forever please enjoy 🎙🎸🎷🎧🥁🎤 just wish there were others who could step up to the plate and deliver. Life is only a heartbeat away. And so is death. A wise man once said. Long life to you all 🎷🎸🎹🪕🥁 see ya on the other side. What a bunch awaits us. 🎸🎤🎧🥁🎹
He looked healthy there.
Most people today don't know the majestic status of Phil and This Lizzy.
I think Phil Lynott as a singer and songwriter is in the same - eh dunno how to say it in english (I`m swedish) - in the same league/division as Bob Marley and van morrison. Sad he went away too soon.
Uno de los mejores letristas.
Long gone like all the good things
I run to the pusher, used my last krone (NOK) to by this one, amazing, I still have it in my LP collection:)
Great front man who could sing play and write. The best.
Thanks Brian Mc in Glasgow for reiterating how great Thin Lizzy were. You were right
Great name in the rock
awesome voice
How can't i leave a comment about the greatest album ever!! Appetite for destruction!!! Only my opinion!!
Phill and Scott could have learned a lot from Mr. Snowy, of how to last in rock bizz. Snowy left, as he could se where it was going, and he was much too prof for them. Mr. Downey could not do anything on his own with such two figures. Best group ever. Love you all.
30 years at it still here thank you Phil.
Snowy is a true musician , in Lizzy and Floyd and his solo career, I agree
Cool beyond words. . My teen guides in early life 👍🙂
Song of my life.
Yours Sincerely = Just Fantastic
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite band ❤🇩🇰
Legend
Fantastic voice
I have the original record in 45 and live version in 12 inch with Mark knopler brilliant
Twin guitars, god bless u Phil, also Gary Moore, Stuart Adamson, lemmy, fast Eddie
Hermoso tema,😍😍🤟🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Great song.brings me back
❤💖 phill
Love lizzy, best;)))
This song would have been on the Chinatown album if Phil hadn’t been also recording his solo album then. Snowy White wasn’t happy it ended up not as a Thin Lizzy song (although the band played it on tour).
I agree. I think Don't Play Around should also have been on Chinatown. I'd have sacrificed Sweetheart and Didn't I to accommodate both songs.
Brilliant Philip lynott
Awesome lyrics
You can't beat Thin Lizzy.
brilliant... just. brilliant.
Música inmortal.
Snowy White.
Great guitarist
Good guitarist but he did not fit into Thin Lizzy at All, he only stayed 3 yrs after all. It was fatal tragedy when they split in 83/ 84 because John Sykes was a brilliant fit for Lizzy as the last l.p. and tour showed.
2022 still listening 😘👌
Phil Lynott.... unforgetten
Snowy, was on that moment, far from both Phill and Scot, professionally and mentally. And a much more professional musicians than both of the other two. A shame they couldn’t overcome this period of their life. I still miss and wonder how phill would have sound today. Thin Lizzy has been very important brick in my rock n roll live so far. Thanks to all of you. Still miss you, Phill.
🇧🇷 Brasil!
Top top top
Essa musica é do Álbum solo dele “Solo in Soho”.
Eu conheci a banda através da música whiskey in the jar. É muito boa a música. Mas tem muitas outras que curto... Cowboy song, wild One, Boderline, Sarah, Renegade, Dear miss lonelyhearts...
A banda é top
This is great. Thin Lizzy were almost as good as the Eagles!
Two completely different bands.
This sounds softer than Ultravox, can you imagine ? All that sugar, all that honey....
far higher in my opinion.
Está de brincadeira né ?😂😂
@@marcelorp1970 No. AC/DC essentially have made one album 25 times and the Stones just mimic old blues bands. Lizzy were way more talented and creative than those two bands.
Você está de brincadeira ?😂
@@marcelorp1970 So you think your opinion is the only opinion, do you?
Phil sings to you not at you and brian has got the best drum sound eva
Only my opinion! But gnr mattalica and lizzy are seriously different class 😁♥️I'm so lucky even when I don't play selfish music! I love people taking the piss out of me for what?? Twats ❤️❤️you lot understand. X
Ain’t Thin Lizzy. Was on Phil’s 1980 solo album Solo in Soho.
Joining Phil Lynott on the video, are Scot Gorham and Snowy White on guitars and Brian Downey on drums - so although you are technically right, the song was from Phil's Solo in Soho album, this was the version of Lizzy at the time the video was made, after both Brian Robertson and Gary Moore left.
John Colville It wasn’t released as Thin Lizzy. End of discussion.
@@thefonzkiss Also ...i believe ,snowy white felt duped into working on phils solo LP , on the pretense it was going to be some lizzy stuff...i seem to recall reading that somewhere
@The Fonz Actually, the whole Thin Lizzy line-up from 1980. recorded this song in the studio, the same four guys that are in this video. www.discogs.com/Philip-Lynott-Solo-In-Soho/release/1190809
@@TheMichaelseymour Correct. He did say that and he didn’t get paid for stuff like this either. It’s in The Rocker by Mark Putterford. Still the best Lizzy book.
The most soft side ofPhil but, still he is an a GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song is so good 😜 it was the b side of Are you ready about 40 years ago 😜
