CatchCook.com is a movement that promotes and rewards a primitive lifestyle where we take responsibility for what we put into our bodies, over unhealthy and unconscious consumerism. Most people believe that food comes from the supermarket, and this platform will aim to change that behaviour by creating and sharing hunting, fishing, spearfishing, farming and gathering videos that promote and motivate a lifestyle free of processed foods, containing growth hormones, pesticides, antibiotics, chemicals and GMOs.

Love your channel!
A friend and i used to do the muscle dance in all weather and tides if we were going Galjoen fishing in Agulhas or Witsands area the weekend, Friday night after work we would go down to Blouberg Beach from Edgemead where we both lived. We would start at Big Bay and would catch what we needed without moving further down the beach. Sometimes depending on tide we would be up to our necks in the water with a tot of OBs to strengthen our resolve. After nights angling at about 10 in the morning the braai with boerewors rolls would be made. The muscles leftover and still alive would be placed around the edge of the grid and when they opened a little mixed butter and garlic would be go in the shell, delicious but chewy tough. If you’ve eaten white muscle you’ll know what I’m speaking of, black muscles this way are much more tender. What a wonderful life we had and experienced as we grew up in Cape Town and all its wonderful coastline, enjoy it to the fullest while you still can guys.
Lol. Fun! I remember being a kid on holiday in Langebaan and being taught by the locals to "jive" for white mussels. We'd all go back to the beach house and the grown ups would braai the mussels with garlic and butter. Delicious

What is the daily quota ?
50 white mussels and not smaller than 35 mm in diameter, may be collected per day.
Is it possible to clean the “sak” before cooking?
Preferably take it off - and then wash it clean.
@@CatchCook Whilst it is time consuming work, I prepare the mussels before hand by first cutting out the white "tongue" meat (the rest can then be used for fishing bait) then blanche (pour boiling water over them for 1 minute only) then put them in a vinegar pickle solution of your choice. Ready to eat after 1 day only (keep in the fridge).
I need a jacket where can i get one i would love to do my catch and cook on my beach MACASSAR BEACH please
