So sad about Dean's passing. Just saw him at the Iridium in NYC. Was one of my all time favorite musicians! RIP Dean😢

Wonderful feeling watching Dennis so healthful again, doing the tricks he knows so well. Happy also to watch Dean Brown playing so well, as Darryl Jones, one of my favorite bass players. As for Bill Evans he's in good form and playing on top.

I've attended 4 Dean Brown gigs here in Los Angeles over the years in a couple of small clubs. Dean's shows are always KILLER! When it's right close-up in your face, just a few feet away, it is EXTRA KILLER.
I had never seen this one of the two great Bill Evans play keyboard before.

Miles Davis hallucinated with the pianist Bill Evans, and then, in the eighties, he hallucinated again with a young saxophonist with the same name. Miles is (a cool) God. God Save the Bill Evans.
I can write a book on why Bill Evans IS the GREATEST sax player of ALL Times!!! He remains THE MOST underrated/under appreciated sax player for completely unknown reasons to me!!! Bill personifies EVERYTHING you want to hear in sax player in ONE single tune: EVERYTHING you can imagine and heard of being done EVER on saxophone, this guy, and ONLY HIM has the ability to deliver in ONE song: that’s how FKN INCREDIBLE Bill is!!! In his playing you hear EVERYTHING from Bird (Charlie Parker), to Train (Coltrane), to Wayne Shorter, to Eddie Harris and Ornette Coleman and Albert Ayler, Bennie Moupin and ANY funky/soul sax player ever existed and ANYTHING in between and ANYONE you EVER heard of playing saxophone ALL ROLLED INTO ONE!!! But!!! ALL OF THAT combined Bill has SOMEHOW managed to come up with his completely unique and identifiable PERSONAL style, which is so unique and so instantly recognizable as sound of THE greatest BILL EVANS style!!! There it is: in a nut shell!!! LOVE YOU, Bill!!! You’re THE greatest, hands down

I just saw and heard the film yesterday. Simply enthusiastic about them all but especially about the Dean Brown I wanted to know more. I ended up to read that he died a few days ago. Sad, but on the other side: I know him now and I am grateful.

The Munch wears his bass considerably lower now - way lower than in his Miles Davis/Sting days - he wears it in a much more 'Rock N Roll' , almost Punk hight.
