- Опубліковано 20 лип 2024
- The NUX MG300 and Valeton GP-100 are two of the hottest guitar processing effects units on the market today both with CAB IR's and the NUX MG300 with AMP IR's, they both have faithful recreations of popular and legendary effects pedals.
UPDATE: the MG300 now has acoustic simulation with Firmware update V.3
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases but it costs you nothing extra.
NUX MG 300 amzn.to/3tzjy0L
Valeton GP100 amzn.to/3tx0Jvh
Both modelling guitar processors have aux in and headphone out for silent practice and stop box modes for live use.
With a tuner, looper, drum machine and the ability to connect to a PC or Mac making the units audio interfaces, couple that with the software editors that these units have and the fact that they are both around $140 makes them perfect practice units and can even be used live as stomp boxes.
Both have amps ranging from Fender, Marshall, Vox, Friedman, Mesa Boogie, and effects pedals such as the Boss blues driver, super overdrive and the Ibanez Tube screamer and Big Muff to name only a few.

your content help me decide, thank you for sharing this, and i'm subs also because you are a humble person. cheers mate.
Thanks for the comment! happy to help out, cheers!
Both pedals sounds very good. In this video using OD effects, NUX seems to have more gain than the Valeton pedal and it is not a problem, setting up the gain knob. But in my opinion the sound of NUX has a little more middle frequences and Valeton sounded more faithfull to the Strato timbre. I don't know if it's different playing with other guitars, but I thought Valeton a little better. But both seems to be great pedals. Thanks for the video, sir!!! Cheers!!!
Thanks for the comment and feedback!
Nice Lightning Crashes workaround ;) Like your approach and your channel orientation. Best Regards and Subscribed.
Thanks! and really appreciate that, cheers and all the best!
The ability to put pedals in any order is the feature that will almost always win my favor. It can solve various problems with high gain tones for metal and complex instrumentals.
As i understand it they both do this now
@@DerekPaulGuitar that's what I thought but in another review, I heard otherwise. Most units today allow pedals in any order. Zoom started that probably 10 years ago.
They did! Yeah I think they can compete easily as it’s a simple firmware update these days
I prefer the Valeton's tone over the NUX. More hollow and less treble sound and pitch. Just personal preference on that part. Nicely done demo Derek!😎 Cheers Bro!!
Nice man, cheers! It is more mid humped that the NUX’s note scooped sound, cheers my friend 😎
Very good comparison Derek. I'll have my cards on the NUX. Already have a Cerberus which I find great. So, already ordered one, now gonna have to wait...
Thanks Chris! really appreciate that, and waiting is the hardest part.....
Many thanks for this vid! To my ears Valeton sounds more open and organic. Nux is more colored and has more highs in default presets. I'm very impressed by the Valeton and don't hear about this unit before this video.
Thanks Sergey appreciate that, stay well!
i would love to see a comparison of tones between one of these cheap tiny little multi effects vs “boutique” amp modelers like the Strymon Iridium or Walrus ACS1
It's amazing how things have changed over the years. If you get tired of lugging around a full stack, pedalboard and rack effects you could just take something that's a size of a mini pedalboard to gig with.
It is incredible! things are progressing so quickly, all those amps and cabs available in a little box, imagine what will happen in 5 years! cheers
@Sam Santana Can you imagine! i'm sure they'll sell by the bucket load lol
@Sam Santana That's too kind, although they'd be missing a few fingers haha
For me the best one was the Nux, some frequencies sounded a little more "fuller", also the software looks more worked in the Nux, but I can understand that some people might prefere the valeton because it looks like it has a little more to offer, at the end both of them are great for the price! Nice shootout man!
Thanks man! They really are both great units for the money depending on what you want, cheers!
I believe the Valeton shares its modeling from its big brothers the ampero. The headphone out is good but could be louder. It sounds damn good with cab sim off through a traditional amp. I’m running the Valeton through a Marshall dsl1 to a 1x12 closed back and its great.
Thanks for the feedback and input, very much appreciated, cheers
I just ordered the Valeton. Let`s see what it brings :) Cheers for the upload btw.
Nice! And thanks for the kind words, hope it’s everything you are looking for, cheers!
Update: just got it and wow, it's an absolute YES. Still figuring out all the options though. The build in drum options are not really my thing, but hey I play guitar and not drums.
What I really like about this box are the 'metal' presets. So thanks again for the upload, it helped me to decide which one to choose. Bottoms up!
@@hayovink9708 fantastic! Glad it’s working out for you, great little box of tricks and so many features! Cheers for the update
can I switch on/off individual effects of a patch with foot switches live ??
Can i use with my electro-acoustic , I'm just bored of the peizo-pickup and also currently I just have NO effects pedal or eq or anything at all. Could this be useful to me ?
Real answer is here,
Usually ppl end up saying "It's up to you" and that is a waist of time. Thanx, Derek for honesty
Thanks! i do try and give an opinion, cheers!
For me the Valeton sounded better overall. Cool video!
Thanks man! and cheers for the vote!
Hi Derek, compliments for a clear explanation. I play both the electronic and an acoustic guitar. Which device is most suitable for both electric and acoustic guitar playing. The Benton DNAfx was also on the wish list. please give me some advice, greetings Fred
Hi Fred, if you are looking to use acoustic guitar effects then the Valeton is the only one that has them, i'm not sure about the DNAfx as i havent tried it, cheers for the comment and kind words
i was so confused until I watched this video. Thanks a lot man, now I'm on my way to get the NUX!
Glad it helped man! Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for posting this. I couldn't decide so I bought both. 😂
😂 why not! It’s good to have all the options :)
Hello, Derek thanks for the responce . But I want tot play also with an acoustic guitar through the MG300. The sounds with an electric guitar are awesome. I have a Fender and a Taylor with both guitars I want to use the MG300, in the home studio and live performance. Is the sound with the effect chorus and delay good for the acoustic guitar ? Greetings.
Hi Freddy, i havent tried it with the acoustic but there are many people out there using it with acoustic guitars, cheers!
I already have a gigging guitar rig consisting of individual pedals and amp etc, but I'm keen on getting something simple that I can use for when I play simple, solo and duo performances DI'd into the sound system with an electric guitar that also has a piezo pickup under the saddles.
Seeing as I would just be looking for something that I can program a decent electric preset with a little bit of gain and an acoustic preset (using an acoustic guitar IR), all in one unit using the same guitar. I'd say that the Valeton is the one that would work for me.
That sounds about right, I think that’ll work perfectly for you ,cheers!
Really interesting video . I have got the Valeton gp100 and I am not over impressed with the sounds . However before I move it on , could you do a video on how to connect it to a pc laptop . Thanx . Neal .
Hey Neal I haven’t got either of them anymore, I have too many multi effects to keep them all :) cheers for the comment though
Much more pleasing dynamics on the Valeton. Cheers!
Cheers Brad! It is a more Marshally tone I’d say
Cheers Derek ... just found yor channel & your vids.Good stuff man and ya come across as knowledgable and good spirited. Both these products seem fairly equal and top quality over the others(they know who they are lol). With that said, i've been doing MUCH research and vid watching(love UA-cam for gear reviews), and it simply came down to one thing that i havent seen many talk about... USE OF THE PEDAL!!! Which product would you say had a better pedal feel, motion, ease of use,and the "Throw" in em or how hard and far did ya have to travel downwards to achhieve desired effect sound??? The Valeton (from looks alone) looks like a MUCH BETTER pedal for home studio, stage, gigging use...and that solid metal construction is hard to beat for longevity of a product with Live band situations!! Thanks in advance for your opinion on this subject,ya have a new subscriber here now as well,Staysafe and PEACE Derek....(sorry about it being so late after the post of this video, but as stated, just found ya!!!) #MusicMaker69
Cheers John, it's always good to chat to people who are passionate about these things! that's a good question, in my experience with them i'd say they were on par with each other with regards to getting what you need easily and the range of sounds and throw of the adjustable parameters, i found the NUX to have slightly better tones, but that's going to be subjective, the Valeton on the other hand is really good for the money and will probably take a better beating in gig use, i reckon you can't go wrong with either for what you'll need gigging tone wise, the Valeton as i understand it has a stomp box mode, but i found the NUX to have the same sort of thing if you set your sounds up and stomp between them at a gig. Anyway, rambling on....hope that helped and thanks for subscribing and sticking around :) cheers!
NUX TSAC nice review!
I’m curious about the mooer compared to these two. I only ask because where I live mooer is easier to get a hold of.
That’ll definitely be an interesting comparison!
Great comparison. does software work for NU-X 20? I don't see quick tone for -20
Thanks man! Just go to nuxefx.com and look under support, cheers
Ótimo tutorial amigo.
What are Amp IR's? Does that mean you can download more amps to the unit? The Valeton doesn't have that feature?
IRs are digital emulations of cabs and amps, the Valeton only has cab IR capabilities, cheers
Great review mate, ive been playing nux which is fine but valeton appeals more.
Thanks for watching and for the comment! Cheers
Greetings, this was very useful. Just wondering which of these two does a better job for recording into computer via audio interface. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! I think they do that job equally well! Thanks
@@DerekPaulGuitar Thanks! for the reply and sorry just one more Q. Would you say they sound better when recorded through an audio interface than via USB. Or are both approaches equally good.
No problem, I would say use the audio interface route to get the best sound, thanks!
@@DerekPaulGuitar Super, thanks!
Without a doubt the Valeton has a richer warmer sound from the start juat what my old experienced ears pick up hence I took back 3 BOSS units in the last months because their overdriven sounds were too brittle.I just ordered a Valeton cheers!
Cheers for the comment! Enjoy the Valeton!
can I switch on/off individual effects of a patch with foot switches live ??
Can i use with my electro-acoustic , I'm just bored of the peizo-pickup and also currently I just have NO effects pedal or eq or anything at all. Could this be useful to me ?
Yeah, to me and the tones I look for, the Valeton sounded better. The NUX just sounded too bright for me.
Thanks for posting!!
Thanks for the comment! Appreciate it
I wanted to see the comparison between the valeton gp100 x flamma fx100, could you bring this video? thanks!!
Sorry I don’t have the Flamma FX100, cheers for the comment though
Been using modeling unit for years. Line 6 Helix I've used since 2015 is still tops. I have a POD GO as well. I like to test these cheap units for fun. The NUX here is superior to my ears.
So do we still need separate audio interface for mg300 in order to use DAW on a PC? 🤔
No, the MG300 is an audio interface as well, just connect it to your PC or MAC via the supplied micro USB cable and your'e good to go :)
can i use it like analog pedal?, like i used clean in the verse and when i play solo i used the distortion
Yes you can, like a stomp box
Good review. Do either of these pedals have better-quality effects that those of the Zoom G1X Four?
Thanks! I haven’t tried the Xoom unfortunately
I had used both mg 300 and G1X 4 before and yes, mg 300 is way better than G1X Four interms of patches and effects.. in my opinion, G1X 4 is on par with mooer ge100 if not better..
Hello.. nice video :) , .. i wonder which ambient is better?. i need ambients for solo live acoustic singing.. i need good ambients/clean reverb..
I found the NUX to be better for ambient tones due to the better reverb modelling, hope that helps! And thanks for watching
here in my town the valeton costs $150 while the nux costs $100 so without any consideration I choose nux mg300 and I got from FB marketplace for $70 used
This really helped me a lot. Thanks!
I’m happy it helped and thanks for watching!
Nice man, good video.
Both have acoustic guitar simulator?
Thanks man, only the valeton has the acoustic simulator, cheers!

How about the volume knob response on drives, which one does a good response when you roll down the volume knob?
I would say they both do it equally well, they clean up on drives when dialled back, thanks for watching!

i love your comparison tutorial about nux mg 300 and valeton gp 100.
Thank you! appreciate that
Hey derek nice comparison
If u ask me Ill prefer mg300 cuz it sounded more natural to me.
Another thing, i guess u missed the looper section for both the pedals
I heard that mg300 has undo/redo looping feature (not sure cuz i dont have it ive seen tht in the manual in thr website) also dont know about gp100
Can u plz tell tht undo/redo looping feature is thr in mg300 or not
If it has then can u make a dedicated video on this then it'll help others to choose very nicely cuz none of the YTbrs r showing this feature they r more concerned about the patches
can u do it plz thank u🙏
Hi, it does have the undo/redo looper on it, I can’t make another video though as my nephew has it and is enjoying it, thanks for the comment and stay well, cheers!
@@DerekPaulGuitar thank u very much derek
Thank u ❤️
I'm wondering if the GP200 sounds better than GP100 (with externals IR)!?
Hmmm i haven't tried that one yet! could be interesting
Is it possible to save a looper session with the base guitar plus the drums for later use in improvisations or performances?
That's a good qood question, i don't know unfortunately but NUZ have a great customer service team at nuzefx.com, and a facebook group, might worth asking there? thanks Robert
@@DerekPaulGuitar Thank you. I will take a look in both site and Facebook group.
PS. I'm sorry for all those spelling mistakes. I am from Brazil and do not speak English. To tell you the truth, I was surprised at myself that you still understood the question. Oh, and many of these errors are due to the cell phone keypad that seems not to want to collaborate with me.
@@Robertoilo I understood perfectly Robert, your English is superb 👍 great to chat to you and stay well in beautiful Brazil, cheers
They both sound good. the MG300 is a little darker or more muffled. Can't go wrong with either, but I do gotta say the nux editor looks way better to me!
Cheers Josh!
I very recently bought the 300 but how do you save your customized patches to another position please, without using pc?
I think it can be done but it’s so long winded you’re better off using a computer, you’d have to re-set them up individually, cheers!
Press the save button at the patch that you want to move. At the rename screen, press the up/down preset for a new directory...
Then press that save button for copying the preset...
It doesnt call moving patches, just copying....
@ Daniel ,thanks very much
am i right in thinking the nux will record the drum on the looper i def know the gp100 won't ive had one and was very disappointed when i got it why i ask myself
Can you use the NUX directly to a smartphone like the mooer ge150? Kinda having a hard time deciding.
I don't think you can currently as there's no App to do that, they do work on continuous improvements though, cheers
Zoom
Hello, The Nux, work for a Bass? Or only in Guitars?
You could use it for bass too, cheers
ON NUX can I switch on/off individual effects of a patch with foot switches live ??
Can i use with my electro-acoustic , I'm just bored of the peizo-pickup and also currently I just have NO effects pedal or eq or anything at all. Could this be useful to me ?
You could certainly create different patches (the same patch but one with effects and one without) don’t think you can switch the effects on and off with the foot switch, maybe someone else can clarify
Great comparison!! But the NUX-MG300 is better in sound quality and that is what matters in music. Cheers!
Cheers for the comment!
hi derek,I want to know if you change places of the effects on the Nux?
Hi, yes you can, it used to be just in the editor software but may have been updated to do it in the unit now, thanks
@@DerekPaulGuitar thanks for the quick response.I am torn between these two but now I am leaning towards the Nux.😊
No problem! I’d say whichever has the best sound to your ears as they are both very compatible feature for feature :)
An it's possible to use expression pedal to gain up or down fx sound, mosulations, delay, wa etc. withoun a computer? I only could turn on tje red light o pedal button, clicking in it on iys software PC. If not, the pedal only change volume sound.
It is possible with the new firmware update as i understand it, theres a symbol at the top of the screen indicating that the pedal is engaged, go into the patch editor and push pedal button, cheers Robert
@Derek Paul Guitar I've seen these symbols, but the pedal apparently ignores them. It seems to me that this feature is only working through the interface on the PC. Note that when you click the wah pedal on the PC interface (which does not even appear in the signal chain of the LCD pedal interface patch editor) the pedal button turns red, but if you press the pedal button while in the function of patch editing, the icons change giving the impression of having changed the function of the pedal, but neither the red light of the button lights up, nor the function of the pedal changes, and remains only controlling the volume of the sound.
@@Robertoilo I’ve heard about this on the Facebook forum, I haven’t tried it though to be fair, the forum is here and I’m sure there are guys that can help you better than I :) facebook.com/groups/879966155822846/?ref=share

The Valeton has a stomp mode which I don’t think has been covered here. In that mode you can select two blocks within a patch to be controlled by the footswitches. I don’t think the Nux has that and is a cool feature
Thanks for the update Richard, i think with the new firmware the NUX now has stomp mode and acoustic modelling, cheers!
@@DerekPaulGuitar ah interesting thank you!! Was the one feature that might have swayed me to the Valeton. The Nux is looking incredible value at £85 currently, and reassuring to see the regular firmware updates

Guys, im a church guitarist who most of time playing with clean, reverb, and chorus sound... can anyone tell me which one is the best for me, or any suggestion. Thank you.
Hopefully someone can help you out as I haven’t experience with a church type sound 👍
If you have to deal with clean sounds maybe the best option is NUX. It has jazz clean roland and fender twin reverb amps. The valeton don't.
The Valeton has both Roland Jazz 120 and Fender Twin Reverb amps available as well (called J-120 CL and Dark Twin in the unit). It also has several other clean amps.
has a menu for mic/amp/effect for vocal???
I haven’t tried it with vocals, but it doesn’t have 48v phantom power for condensers, but with a dynamic mic I’ve heard that you can ‘that pedal guy’ on UA-cam did it :)
Blimey Derek, 9+ minutes! However did you find the time ?? LOL
Nice demo yet again. These boxes really are catching up with the big boys in terms of practical functionality and will definitely appeal to those want a quality tone but who can live without the bells and whistles. I look back at a Korg AX1G I had many years ago which would have been a similar price and I'm in awe of what's available in these boxes. I somehow knew what your' conclusion would be 2 mins. in, both would provide excellent sounds and both great VFM.
Anybody wanna buy a slightly worn GT-8?
Gareth
Haha i know, i'm pushing the boat out with this one! i do prefer the NUX for the sounds but i guess others will prefer the Valeton, it's incredible whats happening for no money these days, i also remember the old Korg guitar effects back in the day, we used to love them, and the GT-8 was a good unit, i had thew GT-6, not sure how it would hold up these days though ;)
@@DerekPaulGuitar Derek, to a large degree, I don't think it matters too much which one you go for unless you want the bass and acoustic options. I reckon there are no losers in this match, both have more capability than the intended market and I include myself in that demographic. When I bought my GT-8 I did some soul searching and went ahead and bought it. Did cool clear reasoning win the day?. No chance, it was the the buttons, dials, lights and looks that secured it. (Shallow, me??) I've had it for 8 years now and I've come to really like it but do I need or use all the functionality?. I guess we both know the answer to that poser!!.
@@garethpoole1645 Exactly, one is going to suit someone more than the other, and i think we are all the same when it comes to shiny things! i was the same when i bought my first keyboard (Korg Triton) wasn't sure if it was the best one but it had lights and a screen, job done ;)
@@DerekPaulGuitar Much more of this soul searching and you'll have to push these reviews out on a Sunday and rename it "The DP confessional"

But I want to try this Valeton product..
Great comparison, thank you but I do have one question, maybe I missed it- the outputs on the NUX, are they stereo? I see one says headphones. I would be using this for small gigs where space is an issue and I plug directly in the mixing board so I would be relying on the amp sims. Any advice as to which would be a better bet?
Thanks Frankie, yes the output to phones and the output to a mixing board are the same output and is in stereo, so if your mixing desk has a stereo input then great, or you can get a stereo out jack split to two mono signals for your desk, hope that helps, cheers!
@@DerekPaulGuitar thanks for the quick response! Very helpful.
@@FrankTGuitar no problem at all, cheers!
Could you connect to the amplifier of a hifi separate system and speakers like the Line 6 Amplifi TT using a splitter cable?
I'm really stuck between these two. I really love everything on the NUX MG300, but the 26 presets against 99 presets scares me. I'm afraid of ending up wanting to play a certain song and not being able to get the specific sound out of it (or something close).
I've never had a guitar pedal before. I've only played through my Roland CUBE-15X amp which has some basic lead sounds. So this territory is very new to me. The only thing i know is that i'm interested in experimenting with the drum machine and looper.
Do you think i will end up with too few sounds, or is it more than enough to get the sound i want?
Hi Anders, either unit would be suitable, they both have 198 presets (99 user which are blank for you to add your own and 99 factory presets) they will both allow you to get the tone you want, its going to depend of whether you need acoustic simulation and what type of drum sounds you are after (the NUX drums are better) plus they both have software editors for full customisation, cheers
@@DerekPaulGuitar Thank you very much :D It sounds like i'm going to get the NUX-MG300 then. I only thought the NUX MG300 had 36 presets because of another video. That must be a firmware update then? No matter what, thank you very much for your help and guidance ;)
You are more than welcome and it’s the one I use the most too, great unit! Cheers :))
The Nux may less presets but the sounds are superior
If I'm only intersted on getting one of these to use plugged into my fx loop (I'll be using my Fender Champion 100XL for amp emulation and I plan to record my amp using a microphone). I'll be using the pedal for both home studio and live situations so which one would be better? I'll only use it as an audio interface for demos as I plan to record my amp with a mic so the amp/cab simulations aren't that important to me. The stompbox mode is nice in the Valeton but I'm not afraid of creating all the presets I need so it's nice to have but not a dealbreaker.
If, for whatever reason I needed to use amp/cab simulation, is the Valeton good enough?
The Valeton has more pedals but does the Nux have any other advantages over the Valeton? How about the quality of the pedals?
In my humble opinion, the NUX would be better for all situations you mentioned, the Valeton however is a very very close second and has a metal housing as opposed to the NUX but sound wise the NUX has the edge, hope that helps, cheers
@@DerekPaulGuitar Thanks for the reply man! Yeah pretty much everyone seems to give the win to the NUX so I think that's what I'll be getting.

Not perfect 100%, but it does the job well imho
I have a feeling both can be tweeked to sound almost exactly the same. What came across here is the valeton cleans were nicer and Nux overdrive warmer. I think EQ can make them similar. For the price excellent value for money. I preferred the Valeton slightly.
Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Thank you for the video. For me, the Valeton seems to be the right choice. I like the direct dynamic response of the GP-100. The Nux MG300sounds for my ears over-processed and more digital, something what I do not like.
Thanks for watching and the comment! Appreciate it
GP100 probably suits me better cause of better high gain sims.
The only situation I think NUX sounds better, is when playing deluxe reverb amp reverb & phaser.
Hi Derek I am looking at these exact two units and the only thing left to consider is build quality. Thing is, I am seeing a lot of posts about how one of the NUX MG-300’s footswitch buttons suddenly stops working and ends up needing some hardware servicing. Do you have any thoughts on which of these two devices is likely to be more trouble free. Thanks!
If sturdiness is your main consideration then the Valeton has a metal housing and should stand up to more punishment, the new GP200 JR is also a metal housing and I reviewed that recently as well as the Mooer Arena, thanks for watching!
@@DerekPaulGuitar Thanks and will also check out those. Cheers!
@@DerekPaulGuitar Would you by any chance have checked out the Mooer GE100. Very entry level device. Do you think it would hold up today.
I haven’t tried that one sorry!
No problem, cheers!
Is the nux mg 300 good for home recording and live ?
Hi, yes it’s good for both! Cheers
I just placed a order for a mooer mg100 for 86.00 usd shipped. I found these for 135 usd on reverb. I hope I got the right unit,I think this one will be better. Man I feel so stupid right now. . man I think the mooe in front of my Peavey's vypre 1st Gen manily as a effects unit.
To be honest I reckon they will all pretty much do the same job, I think you’ll be ok there man, and you got a bargain, that’s always good 👍
@@DerekPaulGuitar aww that's bro ,I feel better. Thanks homie ,be well.
@@joehervey84 no worries my friend! Stay well :)
I think the NUX does sounds better, but I agree the Valeton is not bad either for a product like this, it's way better than some older, more expensive stuff.
I think you hit the nail on the head there, cheers!
I like the nux, the yellow drive sold me. Had a real creamy tone!!!🎸🎛🎸🎸🎸👍💚💯
Your pickup selector was change all the way
In my country Indonesia, Nux price is only 99 USD, valeton is 160 USD.
NUX win here for price to performance, almost half valeton price.😅
In India both are 100$🥲
99usd? Kakek lu jual....?
@@zamz1311it's around 107 new,
This is not fair because valeton in bridge pick up, nux in neck pick up
I used the neck position 5 and neck and middle position 4, I don’t use the bridge pickup at all, I did this to balance the pedals for a better demo and at the end both were played in position 4, cheers
To my ears, the Veleton still sounds like my Line 6 Pocket Pod. I like the NUX better.
Thanks Kristen, i have to agree, it does sound more digital than the NUX.
I own valeton...but nux is the win for sound ,it’s more natural
Thanks for the vote!
Is nux mg 300 epression pedal is sturdy enough? Cause the build quality is somehow not so good
I Haven't used it in a gig situation but it seems ok to me, cheers!
Hi, thanks for the feeback. I am thinking whether to buy this or mg 30. The build quality of mg30 seems to me far more sturdy.
@@collabproject5920 I haven't tried the MG30 but it does look really good!
Interesting that you lean a bit more toward the Valeton, not only due to its feature set, but surprisingly also based on sound. The MG300 sounded a bit throaty on a lot of amps, as if it was asserting its own flavor onto everything, whereas the Valeton sounded quite distinct from model to model. Also found the attack to more natural on the Valeton. The MG300 seemed to be masking/muddling things a bit. Still sounded good, but more like it has its own signature sound. With the Valeton also offering bass sims for my occasional use of bass, I‘m definitely going to now check out more sound samples of that unit. Thanks for turning me onto this device I was unaware of! Was actually looking for a comparison of the Nux Cerberus with the Nux MG300 (having summarily dismissed the new MG30 from the competition based on its wishywashy sound). Still curious how the Cerberus might stack up soundwise in this field...
Thanks for the comment Scott, there’s quite a few multi effects modellers out there now, I’d also like to try the Cerberus, I’ve heard good things about it, cheers and stay well :)
@@DerekPaulGuitar Yes, we are living in rich times, especially choice-wise. After posting I realized, though, that the Cerberus lacks speaker sims, so might be less suitable for plug-and-play applications than the devices you reviewed. Aaron Short (check out his UA-cam channel) uses the Cerberus direct even without speaker sims, though, and says it‘s workable.
@@scottbecker3485 ah gotcha, I’ll check that video out, yes! Rich times choice wise and more to come I’m sure! Cheers
And what about the audio interfaces? Any troubles w/ latency?
Perfect audio interfaces on both with zero latency, cheers
Is that gp 100 is good on scoustic tone ?
Do you mean the acoustic modelling or with an acoustic guitar?
Nux sounds good
Why does every reviewer test distortion and overdrive, and never compression, delay, reverb, chorus, flanger, etc?
It’s only honestly otherwise the video would be so long
Hello sir !
I'm from India and I have been searching nux mg 300 from past two months and I have not found it .
Can u tell me where did get it from and where should I get it from.
Cheers!!😊😊
Hi, I’m really not sure, I’m based in the USA, maybe the NUX website or an online search may help? Cheers man!
@@DerekPaulGuitar sir,
can I know where exactly or which website cause I know some ppl over there.
Cheers!😊😊
Falcon The Beast ah gotcha, I used nuxefx.com :)
aliexpress, wait 11.11.20
You could try Thomann---I know they ship worldwide. Also Amazon sells it and I think they ship worldwide too.
I recently bought online and now I am waiting for the item to arrive home. hopefully in accordance with my expectations. in my country the price of nux mg300 is much easier than valeton 3p100
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! let me know what you think, cheers!
@@DerekPaulGuitar At the beginning I really wanted Valeton GP 100. But my friend recommended the Nux mg300. he said sound from nux is better and when connected to soundcard for home recording, sound from nux300 is more stable than valeton gp100. valeton gp100 changes sound when plugged into a soundcard ..
Sofyan Rifani I think it just depends of what types of sounds you like, for me it was the NUX but for others it’ll be the Valeton, horses for courses as they say
They are is constructed in steel?
The Valeton is, the NUX is plastic, cheers
@@DerekPaulGuitar Thanks.
I choose valeton, because I produce music with guitar and bass, and I dont need to waiste my money for another pedal
But the nux is more better to be honest, and the mic position is awesome actually
Both have + and -
Choose wisely
Good comment! cheers man
@@DerekPaulGuitar cheers 🍻
can I switch on/off individual effects of a patch with foot switches live ??
Can i use with my electro-acoustic , I'm just bored of the peizo-pickup and also currently I just have NO effects pedal or eq or anything at all. Could this be useful to me ?
