I’ve explained this exact thing to my sons. I have what they calls 2 motion. Told my sons I’m just holding the ball cause I elevated more. Elevation is important the closer to the rim you are so I told them they’ll hold the ball with more elevation for closer shots.
This exactly i would like to hear, I was trying to teach how to shoot like carry but, for me it was not enough time to stop the ball on your head, now i understand it
I don't know who has the best jump shot in the NBA, I just wanted to write a comment to say this is the best freaking basketball channel I've ever seen on UA-cam! Good work
Hey I have seen your videos hey are really cool and practice me alot I really appreciate that and also am subbed my coach is lazy and never practice us so I really mean it thx u
Been saying this for a while now. If your shot doesn’t have a set point it’s horrible, you can’t even shoot free throws properly and you don’t have a good rhythm or midrange game
And btw I’m having trouble with my jump shot I keep recording it and my arm is always chicken winged I even try to start it from the side of my body but it still slightly bends and I need it to be pretty much straight and my follow through too I keep making my right arm go slightly sideways too and I have good arc but it still doesn’t help it
A one motion shot is real. It is bad habit kids learn trying to shoot on a hoop too tall for them. It’s when the ball goes down as the knees bend and body goes down then the ball is sent toward the hoop as the knees extend. It’s a remnant of when kids would heave balls toward the hoop as children any way they could to get the ball to the height of the hoop. What coaches like this one (rightfully) try to teach players (who are now far stronger enough) is two motion shooting where the ball moves opposite to the body until the ball reaches the desired set point then they everything moves up in one direction. 2 motions. Body down ball up, body up ball out. All in a fluid wave like motion. The video lays it out well.
can you analyze ben simmons shooting? I found out that he is right handed, but left footed. A lot of people are saying he should shoot with right, but his body will turn naturally turn right when he jumps, which will make it even harder and awkward to shoot with right. I know lebron is like this, left handed but right footed, but obviously his unhuman amount of practice has surpassed this. But there are a lot of people with opposite hand and foot who doesnt have lebrons workethic, and even nba players like simmons is suffering with this. Should simmons or us give up the normal shooting stance, with natural foot slightly in front of opposite foot, and shoot with maybe both foot completely aligned, like matt barnes?
