Had both, fancy the cupra more just because it feels lighter through corners even though its not by a lot compared to R. R is a decent car but would never go back if i want that exciting feeling
@@bura280 The only problem is the hatchback Cupra only comes in FWD. The station car version has 4x4, but i don't really like the look too much like the hatch.

@@ML-si5ht i have mine on stage 1 around 360hp , no problems with traction. You just need good tyres and a feeling on the throttle
As a former Cupra R owner, I absolutely love this Cupra. Very clean and fast. Making me wish I had another one! The owner has done the right mods IMO and those anchors will only make you feel confident. Nice project indeed!
You can always tell if a car is seriously quick if Jamie goes for that handle 😄
Surprised to not hear a VAG car with a pops and bangs map
If i put my clubsport in sport i have pops and bangs standard...
Bang it in cupra or sports mode with sports mode selected on dsg and it pops bangs all day long
@@gticlubsport1168 yeah some cars generally from factory have a slight pop and bang map on them. I was thinking that as this car is tuned and mapped the owner could of chosen to have the pops and bangs added but looks like he kept it subtle

These seat leon cupra is the most underrated hot hatch, and it's faster than a golf r around the nurburgring, and also was the fastest fwd hot hatch in the world

It’s been the Civic Type R for the past two generations, cupras are quite overrated I find.
If a R Estate, and would say that the new 2020 Cupra Leon Estate is far better looking on the outside. Not sure VW are going to do the R Estate again, so might well look at the Cupra one. As for going around the Nurburgring a few seconds quicker or slower, is that really important to people? As for FWD, really not interested in a high powered one, so happy to stick with a heavier and slower 4WD.

Cupras are reliable type r's have naff gearboxs and the engines are pretty questionable once tuned I looked into getting an fk2 or fk8 myself and was quickly put off by the reliability issue threads on the type r forums. Cupras with dsg mapped are absolute monsters
@@CJax749 it was when it was new to the market. The optional performance pack was called "sub8" because of the laptime.
And also the last cupra R fwd is as fast or faster than the last fk8 civic type r in different tracks.

Highly underrated cars, I can confirm one of these running a Venom hybrid turbo did 100-200kph in 5.9secs on dragy, running at 560bhp. Absolute weapons these, and they fly under the radar nicely too 👌🏾
That car blew up tho but venom for the win my mates own venom they are doing damage

I had a stage 1 cupra 280 running 357bhp. Absolutely unbelievable car, no stock golf r or s3 can keep up. Recently sold it for a hyundai i30n, so much more fun to drive but I do miss the power of the cupra.

Nicely modded car, not too much, nice owner. Key is weight, there are light cars relative to many others, while old car are usually not as light as we think they were (e.g. an F40 is ~1350kg kerb irl, so similar power to weight to this, not 1100kg as we though it was). Have a stage2+ Cupra myself and with the right mods it is epic yet nicely understated.
