Gotta love that your summer is so hot that oil temp cam is now a feature
🤪
If you can have the temp shown more often it will serve as a useful database of what cars are good cooling-wise or not
@@tnadolsky9341 i fully agree :D
Car needs a oil cooler asap, i was over last weekend done 50+ laps never when over 120 degrees
50+ laps sounds like a bunch of nonsense as even on a dedicated NR trackday weekend that kind of number of laps are rarely attainable (accounting for introductions, briefings, cooldown time, breaks, eating at noon and in the evening ect). On TF with all the closures? Forget about it lol.
When Misha's triceps are flexing during corners you know it is serious 😂
Is is a good Hany Rambod sponsor😜
That's not a good thing....
Misha casually mogging us just by handling a steering wheel 😅
This kinnda of men are always self flexing
@@Raidenovic its not like he means to flex, his muscles are tense because hes trying to hold the steering wheel in place.
I feel like everyone that gets Misha to drive their car should know to have an external oil cooler by now.
fakkssss😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Many times he is over revving the cars. For no reason.
@@phipo666the revs are there for a reason. Use them. If your temps can't handle designed revs its shit and needs upgrading.
@@phipo666 The rev limiter is there for a reason and he pretty much always asks where the "redline" is aka when the owner wants him to upshift. Also these kinds of big turbo builds usually make their peak power near the limiter and in almost every car the gearing disadvantage when upshifting is worse than the torque lost to higher revs, so it's usually better to rev it out anyway.
I would of told him to pull over and kicked him out the 🚗🚨
Positively surprised by everything this thing did; well except the smoke and cooling. But suspension look extremely sorted (just lowering springs? amazing), and it put the power down surprisingly well. FWDs can handle a lot of power these days, thanks mostly to modern tires.
We both were surprised!
@@mgcharoudin Do you think a larger oil cooler would help keep the oil below 130C?
Fellow Cupra owner but mine is stock on stock suspension, amazing fun and I’m desperate to take it on the nurb. With good tyres and a couple of tiny mods it’s an absolute monster In the corners. Very underrated car 👌
@@mgcharoudin I liked the Bridgestones a lot on my C6 Corvette!
Awsome video!!!
Awsome car 👌 it just needs it's external oil cooler
Very well managed lap. The clouds of smoke were a bit disconcerting.😮
I think he said it was blow-by, in which case a good catch can system can help. Although if the blow by is from worn piston rings then maybe it is disconcerting :p
Thats pretty normal on ea888 engines.
What is that even from? I don’t fully understand ? From oil getting into turbo ? How would you get rid of this ?
@@domfaustino2887 think it's the pcv valve that gets clogged when the car is run hard and there's heavy braking. A catch can does sort it yeah.
My car is doing the same thing from time to time during hard braking on the race track. Stock 280 ST. But not every 2nd corner like here :) Once per 2x25mins maybe.
He must be thinking about transmission oil cooling
The most underrated hothatch of the last 10 years. Invested-received win-win.
Same with the Astra J OPC
@@Fatlace24 Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
@@TheEditorizehe isn’t wrong…
Seat leon cupra's are everywhere like golf R's they are far from underrated
@@xtrfy1439 i bet this kid never been in one. I actually have one now, it’s a lot of a car for the price.
Also any engine with a manual or automatic can get and should have an oil cooler.
Once the cooling issue is sorted this will be a very capable car. Amazing performance for a fwd
Best Cupra I’ve ever seen, good job man. Mine is 450ho stage 3 dsg albo 5f hatchback and your thing is as fast as dsg, gotta love this manual transmission
All that power aint that big of a use when your engine is overheating after 3 minutes of using it 😬
It would’ve done better in cooler weather it was just hot but yea he definitely needs some cooling done to it
To be fair in UK this cooling would probably be adequate as cooler weather and you cant really rag the car like on the Nordschleife
Seems like a cool little car however That overrun noise is appalling
Is it anti-lag or just what it does?
@@RDEnduro just sounds like one of those generic pop and bang maps to me.
Cool might not be the right word haha
@@RDEndurostandard chav pops and bangs map
I agree. Pops and bangs on these cars should be illegal! They just sound like the car is broken and they don't please anyone who has a brain more developed than a teenager's. This why people generally think the EA888's sounds like crap, when actually they sound pretty good for a 4 cylinder without the trash pops tunes and anything better than a ebay downpipe.
One of the fastest rides in recent times. But a little higher water temperature (at one point it reached a max of 130) and oil.. Excellent car, it lies well in curves..
Over run mapping is chav-tastic. The smoke is the turbo on overrun surely.. or breather pipes
looks more like oil blow by
This issue is very common on the 2.0 TSI, an oil catch can will fix it. This will prevent the oil going into the intake of the engine, which gets burned. That is the smoke on the video
I don't understand people who get on a ride while holding their phone like an idiot when Misha already recorded the lap perfectly. Riders should just enjoy the ride. But no they need the awful shaky footage for whatever reason.
Another annoying thing is that people tune their cars aggressively without improving the cooling performance. The oil temperature experienced thermal runaway within a few seconds of the lap. Yikes
They're recording the first part entering the track and hitting a high speed.
It's just sad to see, any car could lap faster than that Seat because he has to slow down with those temps, baffles me why they don't build them properly instead
@@instagib5085 ???? These aren't leased
@@Calitrax43look forward to your lap video on the A3 😂
@@garethhollinshead454 would love to, it's slow as shot so not very exciting, but would not overheat after 3 minutes and cut the revs 🤷♂️
love the layout with the speedo and tach where they are
keep up the amazing work
It's crazy how much power you can get out of this small engines with turbo.
Yes its very cool. My Skoda Fabia 1.0 TSI has 200 hp now with some adjustments. But thats almost the max possible😂 ultimate sleeper
Its even crazier how fast the wear gets on them xD
@@kealke at 38000km I achieved the 200hp and I am on 120000km now without any problems. Proud of that little engine
@@Sumofallfears Nice one! Yeah, I have to admit that I still remember some of the early Audi S3 1.8T 4-cylinder turbos, which had about 220hp. It was mind-blowing when I drove one for the first time about 20 years ago. So, to see these small hatchback cars now with 400+ HP is mind-blowing for someone like me.🤩
@@optimusmaximus56 poh yeah I agree, that was awesome!! Back than it was a major achievement to get 220hp out of that 1.8T engine with the available technology of that time. The 200hp I achieved was easy, so much technology available. Software upgrade, few intake and exhaust system adjustments, bigger intercooler another turbo and minimal RON98. Done. But I wouldnt drive it on the Nürnburgring😂😂
I had no idea the ring got so HOT! In a weird way, it makes me happy because I started to detour from my dream of living there one day with how cold and cloudy and no sun it seemed like. I’m from CA and days without sun can be difficult. Thanks for the video Misha & Adrian, amazing shots in B-roll.
Europe is mid heat wave, so another 10 degrees hotter than what it was in this vid. Europe gets up into the high 30s c each year now.
dont go to germany or netherlands it will rain so much. go to lower europe for warmth. Although upper europe is nicer financially
If you instal a catch can oil ( Racing Line brand ), the smoke problem never appears again.
Needs a oil catch can to avoid that smoke problem👍🏻
Couldn’t tell if it was a breathing issue or baffling issue it need a oil cooler sump baffle and catch can either way
I can't be more surprised by anything than Mishra's driving skills and handles.
Good lap, really high temps, btw, you can add an oil cooler to manual and dsg, the oil cooler if you get Racingline for example just replaces your oil filter. So one end goes where your oil filter is and the other end is the little radiator which you just mount behind the front bumper, you're getting confused with the dsg gearbox cooler.
I can't quite understand why Misha actually turns down attack mode just by the entrance of the car park. Brakes are toasty, engine oil temps are high enough to be worried of staying on idle. Everything baking hot while you are stopped on traffic jam waiting to leave Nürburgring.
As a mechanic, the lack of mechanical empathy shown on a lot of his videos kinda saddens me. Some vids appears to be a punishment instead of a lap you are applying on these people's cars.
140°c on oil is a lot on any application. The "cooldown" is made uphill, at 150km/h+ on heavy load. For context, revs are just part of the equation when comes to temps. The better way is to literally baby the car at partial or no load on the engine.
He saw the blowby smoke on this video, and i'm pretty sure that have the knowledge that excess blowby would fuckup or even hydro lock the engine.
“Gonna be the tire that give way first” no mate your oil coolers already giving way 😂
That was alot a smoke 😬
Some James Bond shit 😋
I was thinking the same
Put your phone down and hold on man!! Misha already has 3 cameras :)
This is why i am current on my third 5f cupra. Love the handling and the power delivery.
The oil temp is great addition, thanks for adding it!
Micha, what is your opinion of people filming the race with their phone in their hand flopping around like that? I would probably find it somewhat disturbing knowing that a phone might come flying in to my face in a hi-g corner/bump.
I don't think it should be allowed.
What i find stupid is that he is watching the whole lap through his phone 🙈 . I would just enjoy the moment and Micha makes much better videos anyway.
Nice, now the owner knows where he still has to invest time. And it's great to see what he has performed so far
WHAT A CAR AND WHAT A DRIVER shame about oil temp I've had 4 SEAT LEON two CUPRA two FR DEISAL HYBRID turbo I just love the way they can be thrown around think there the strongest and they love being ragged SO YOU SHOULD BE PROUD
this is what it looks like when someone puts power into the car and doesn't think about other things - Oil catch tank, oil cooler and other
Found your channel 2 weeks ago and I can’t stop watching ❤
Living in a hot area, and tuning one of my vehicles, I always leave a little AFR to the rich side to help cool the engine a bit. While leaning it out for max HP might use 11.5/1 AFR, I usually run 12.x/1 to save the engine a bit. The few HP you lose is worth it for me to keep the engine alive.
I seem to have some kind of glitch in my car. Previously I had a 12 AFR with the gas pushed all the way down at high rpm. Currently I have around 10.9-11, and sometimes even 10.5. I am so wondering if the lambda probe is to blame? I rule out injectors because the car has very low mileage(87000 kilometers). Although who knows... The pressure on the injection rail is ok. In addition, I noticed that the long-term correction is on the very large downside(-25%).
@@MaximusHexon Sounds like an air leak. Start the engine and warm up. Take brake cleaner and spray around at leak prone areas of the intake and vacuum tubing. If the RPM spikes up, you found a leak in the induction system.
@@beaugator Good idea. Will try this method.
Catch CAn needed... Problem in Gen 888 engienes. maybe install oil cooler too &make the "overrun" switchable on cruise controle or AC, it also will drop some degrees ;)
You are right. Racing Line catch can oil is the solution.
And i was thinking the same, that overrun must be helping with the engine "cooking"
The car is pretty amazing but was ruined by this vanity tunes with farts and shits. People simply do not realize how much heat these poops&farts tunes throw into the turbos, cats (who still has them), and so on. And as always amazing drive from Micha! Awesome stuff!
If the owner is trolling around here. few questions.

What a little monster this car is 😅
I like the addition of the oil temp been on the screen good to see what it’s at 👍
7 minutes of glory...and a new headgasket that the young driver will buy it.
Nothing is wrong with the head gasket grandpa.
135°C+ oil temperature for that long, and all that smoke out the back? That volvo might not be the only car which blows up this year...

You don't run with original low viscosity oils ( 0w20 or 5w20, for example ) in Nurburgring. 5w40 oils is a good compromise.
Damnn i think i might have to look into a cupra after this Awesome lap as per Misha!
I got it power to weight
That Cupra is on the extreme side of theatrics Misha...smoke and pops...had me waiting for the boom! LOL
Миша не бери больше таких пассажиров...они раздражают своими телефонами...лучше девочку бы покатал...а за езду жирный лайк!! круто!! Seat шикарный...
Smoke is due to bad design of the factory pcv system. It drinks oil through pcv breather on hard brake right turns. Can be solved with a good catch can, or an updated pcv valve.
Maybe he has the original older pcv valve, I'm sure there is a newer revision of PC valve for the gen3 ea888
This thing is absolutely INSANE! Amazing video👏🏼
Oil catch can solves this common issue on ea888. When the engine is run hard the crankcase ventilation (pcv) dumps the oil in the intake again. And it gets burned in the cylinders. Hence the smoke.
Fuck me, must have to put a litre of oil in that for every lap completed 😂
Spoke to this lad at bhp, this car was in the show and shine. Nice car
I thought the speed was in kmh until about halfway through the lap 🤯
Wattis cupra, the man the myth the James 👏👏
I don't understand why there are so many upgrades and no upgrades in oil cooling.
Went for a pop and bang map and ran out of sense
This is the ChavTastic Tune. Car doesn't need to hold to 21kms of track, only to pop and bang from 5 blocks away. It is fast, no hate about that, but the valves and turbo are not happy.
loving the rear cam
So many movies and still so many morons TRYING TO HOLD their phones while driving instead of enjoying and maybe learning something from an expert behind the wheel. Respect Misha for your patience
That is a fast little hatchback well done on the build looks amazing ❤
"can i reset?" 0.0000001sec later, DONE
Do these guys not know Misha literally records and uploads to youtube from every angle? Is a shaky camera angle from their Samsung’s really that much better?
Nice car but need's a oil catch can so unburnt oil doesn't leak out the pcv valve and go down the downpipe
Great video, shows just how capable the cupra’s are. With some better tyres and more cooling the next time round he should be on too a winner
guys from uk all these kids want is power, no handling no good brakes and defiantly not expensive tyres, sad car scene over here unfortunately lol
Car needs Oil Cooler & Oil Catch Can Kit ASAP.
Waterpump surely having an issue has this engine handles water temp way better then the engine found in the GTI.
Impressive and fun lap! Thank you!
Did anyone see the water temp in red at 11:00 ?
I did notice it and I think the system was probably running with too little water because the temps got lower so fast. If you have system full of water, the total energy in the water prevents that quick cooling but if your system is not pressurized, boiling water into steam could explain rapid temperature drop to 100 °C.
That little flash at 2:44 🙌🏻
When will people get that it is dangerous to record with their phone out… especially at those speeds and bumps. Could of flew straight in your face. Amazing lap btw :) as always!

Man I love Cupras. Specialy wagons.
I wouldn't know what Seat or the Cupra was , if it wasn't for Gran Turismo . If I remember correctly they actually had a race series called the Cupra Cup . And because I live in Canada , that game is the only experience I have with the Nurburgring to .
Ahhhhhh yes..... the rice burner, unburnt fuel into the exhaust to add "cracks and pops". I dont know who ever would have thought that sounded good. It sounds 10x better without that rice burning crap.
The smoke is some what normal for this engine. This smoke issue happens to the golf r mk7 which should have similar or same engine and it can be fixed with a good catch can. This definitely needs an oil cooler.
Yes, Racing Line oil catch can ( for example ).
that seat goes hard man!
Awesome. Do your passengers know you're filming it anyway, so they don't need to!? (Probably in much better quality / less-shaking
than they're getting on their cellphone)
Use RedLine oil and G12 Plus coolant for Nurburgring. The temperature oil is too high !.
That looked like it was a pretty dialled car and even sounded good, but the cooling is obviously wildly inadequate for the power level. Oil temps in the high 130s? That's not going to last long.
In reality these high powered UK cars rarely get used on track, even absolutely kicking it's head in you'll struggle to get over 120⁰C on a street, 140⁰C for a one off lap isn't too much of a concern but i agree it needs better oil and an intercooler/oil cooler
Do you have any update from the volvo 240 that blew up? Did the owner fix it? :D

That oil temp tho. I've looking at it since the lap started and asked myself wtf is going on with that car.
This car needs oil cooler and something to avoid slushing oil into the turbo + scan for error codes to figure out why it switched to limp mode during the lap. I'd guess overheating but definitely check the ECU data.
