- WWE talent are upset that The Rock is able to use profanity in his promo after Nick Khan, and Triple H sent out an internal memo telling the roster they need to adhere to PG guidelines. Is it the fact that The Rock can use profanity, or is it the fact that nobody else has anywhere close to the TV as The Rock does, with The Rock. Not Cody Rhodes, not Seth Rollins, and not even Roman Reigns. What's the real issue here?

On the contrary, he intentionally neutered both Roman and Cody by inserting himself into the feud. He made himself the centre of attention, just like he does in all of his ventures, since he has to feed his ego. His movie projects were flopping hard, so he comes back to wrestling to hijack a popular storyline.
He siphoned off the momentum from the Cody vs Roman feud, and he's making himself more popular at the expense of those two guys.

A big problem is that the company's top guy never shows up anymore. Roman needs to be on TV and interact with Seth/Cody/Rock for this to work. Rock isn't even an active wrestler anymore and he's working harder than Roman. He needs to do his job to help promote these matches at WM.

Then on Monday he cried. WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT ANGER?

Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes has all of Raw to say whatever they want to The Rock. The Bottom Line is that they are not on The Rock level. CM Punk had no problem cutting good promos on The Rock. Nobody complained.

Miz is another one of you wanna mention Priest too. Priest it's more of his voice and delivery of a promo. But again PG promos and cussing isn't the problem. No one should be crying in a promo and Cody not once mentioned The Rock or Roman in any meaningful way this past Monday Night and he was given at least 10 minutes

Just my opinion, but its off because the WWE's fan base made it off. The uproar from the decision of having Rock v Roman instead of Cody have forced a rushed change of plans. Months of creative that was pre-planned totally goes in the crapper.

@@QuilishWammy I watched Cody on Impact, ROH, and AEW. His character doesn’t do it for me. I’ve been watching Seth since he was in ROH as Tyler Black. I liked him when he was in ROH. But when Seth was WWE champ, he never built up his character. Roman had the ball and being a heel was the best thing that happened for him because he got to be himself. Seth and Cody play characters that don’t come off as genuine.
The real issue is that WWE under Vince Mcmahon’s total controlled reign and regime, under that time they created virtually no long term stars. One in a very long blue moon they would have someone, and even then, them micromanaging their promos with their material did not get over with most people in the real world. So Vince constantly resorted to the older vets and legends to bring back the attention of us casual viewers.

Not surprised at any of this one bit. I believe you are absolutely right JD, in that this is all Dwayne's ego running rampant. This is the same thing he did 10 years ago against Punk, only now he literally has all of the stroke that Vince had back then. I've been pissed off about Dwayne showing up since that SmackDown in January. He is a maelstrom of turbulence and chaos for the entire roster. I won't lie and downplay his positive effect on weekly TV ratings - but it would be the same for virtually ANY "Part-timer" who walked through the door for WrestleMania Season. Austin, Taker, Cena (which I think may happen), even Lesnar (though improbable now) - they would all significantly bump the ratings with the nostalgia.
Dwayne is butt-hurt that HE isn't in the Main Event against Roman the way HE wanted, and HE was asked to turn heel for this run when HE wanted to be the face against Roman. So in retaliation, HE is going to say what he wants, wherever he wants, however he wants, whenever he wants, and take as long as he wants to say it - consequences be damned - and NO ONE can get a worthwhile retort or rebuttal (on OR off camera) about it without Dwayne firing back twice as hard.
I'm literally to the point where I feel like saying, "Okay, just put the four of them in the ring, let him do his Rock Bottom & People's Elbow to whoever he wants, count to three, and get it overwith so he can leave again and go back to making shitty movies."

Amen. Rock is literally John Spartan ( or should I say Simon Phoenix, since he's currently playing a Heel ) in Demolition Man. A guy that comes from a long time ago when things were a lot different than the world he comes back in. Nobody can expect him to play by the rules of the current world, the current era.
Im in the minority here..i wish the Rock had not come back..and i have felt this way every single time he has come back since the Cena feud. All he does is come back, bury the current talent, talk, and make the show about himself.. which would be fine if the rest of the cast didn't feel so insignificant because of it. This is not me saying he isn't great or is not doing great work. This is me saying he needs to go tf away. This WM would have been fine without him in my opinion because the other talent are getting their segments and matches cut because his ego wants to make everything about himself. As far as the PG promo thing.. that's a skill issue 😂 Drew and KO are current stars and are always great, and don't need to use profanity to cut great promos and be great.
Rock has a shtick, and it works for him. But it’s been getting kinda stale. And I really don’t appreciate him making Cody-Roman 2 a secondary story because “reasons”. The fans made their choice clear that they want Cody. Dwayne should have taken the hint and found a more subtle way to transition to his eventual match with Roman. But instead, he hijacked everything and has made this whole angle about himself. Hell, the way he’s inserted himself into this storyline, it almost feels like it should be Cody vs Rock for the title at Wrestlemania and not Cody vs Roman. I don’t appreciate that. Cody and Roman did a great job building their rivalry last year and could have done better concluding it this year if they were left alone to build it without Dwayne coming and shoehorning himself in with his concerts and his entrances and his 30-minute promos and his 101 catchphrases circa 2003. This was not what I was hoping for with just 3 weeks left before Wrestlemania.

The problem is the talent wants to be allowed to use profanity as well. You can’t tell me some of these feuds heading into mania wouldn’t be heightened by an F bomb on their social media accounts. Remember when Rollins and Riddle were cursing at each other in that side by side interview a couple years ago? It took their feud to another level

Look at the Roman/Heyman-Cody promos last year vs what we’ve gotten so far this year. Night and day difference. Everyone but the Rock is being handicapped in this build.

The man is cutting the best promos of his career - weekly - on social media - for the benefit of storyline progression - and NOT defamation of the company or some backstage drama bullshit. Why don't they follow suit instead of complain?
They complain because he's making himself more popular AT THE EXPENSE OF EVERYONE ELSE. This Mania is supposed to be about Cody vs Roman, but the Rock is making it about himself. Cody and Roman feel like side characters in their own stories, and Rock made it that way.
The softness of the roster is absolutely annoying. Hearing them whine about nothing is like hearing a nail scratching against a chalkboard.

There's people on the roster capable of cutting a promo just like the rock but you wouldn't know that because wwe keeps everyone mid and doesn't allow them to be themselves everyone is forced to cut unnatural promos that doesn't make sense and isnt believable

He also cried when the fans turned against after Cody gave up his WM spot to him, also his daughter, Ava getting death threats. Rock was able to take all of his anger and bash Cody and his fans, making them looked like crybaby geeks.
Well in my absolute complete 💯 straight up true honest opinion..., I don't have any problems at all with The Rock using cuss words in his promos and segments for real.. Because I likes to cuss whenever I talk.. But anyway., I'm a fan of The Attitude Era in the WWE back in the day.. So for The Rock to be doing what he does is making the WWE more edgier sort of like The Attitude Era and The Ruthless Aggression Era..., Which basically making things more realistic with feeling on top of everything else.. I feel this is what the WWE needs to be from this point forward instead of this PG bullshit for real.. This feels like John Cena vs rock. They went weeks snapping not directly in person until two weeks before wrestlemania twice . It’s the same concept because it’s the rocks and cena era of talking smack. Cody and Seth had Monday’s while smack was the bloodline except once when Cody and Seth went to smack down. They are building this fued and rock is making it memorable. This is what people asked for and including cm punk getting hurt which caused a entire shift in wwe plans so now Seth, Cody, Roman, and rock has to carry all of this weight but rock is making things interesting by playing his role in all this since it’s all last minute changes

The memo supposedly included social media postings, with regard to the PG standards. If that memo didnt include that edict, then it would definitely be screen time "jealousy"....but, since that memo did apparently include social media postings I can understand them being pissed. Theres no way for Seth or Cody to rebut, and as a result promote the match and fued, if they are neutered in every way and everywhere. I understand not doing it on tv, but they should be allowed to say whatever on social media. Hell, I dont think even Vince wouldve allowed the burial that is taking place because of these weekly social media diatribes.
