Kegels Are Bullshit - Do THIS Instead

    Are male kegels beneficial for premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction? I have found kegels to be an unnecessary or even dangerous exercise for men to practice. Kegels only target a small portion of the pelvic floor muscles, and because of this they can easily cause imbalances - actually making premature ejaculation worse and even leading to erectile dysfunction and pelvic pain.

    I have to say I'm on the other side of this . Doing kegels as a young man really helped me control my reaction to sex, but when I learned about kegels your description of a reverse kegel was part of it. So I practiced both. I'm not sure why not doing all the exercises you mentioned wouldn't be the best practice.

    I think an important and often overlooked piece of the puzzle for some men is that of chronically tight psoas/ illiapsoas muscle. Due to the deep facial network in the abdominal cavity many imbalances can occur. I have found that the potbellied breathing practices you have taught have gently and progressively helped release pain and discomfort in the psoas, as well as helping with digestion issue and back pain. Thank you for the information you provide Johnathan!

    It seems like this could just be an overuse issue. For example, if you did bicep curls every day for several months, eventually you would get elbow and shoulder issues from not giving your arms enough time to rest and recover. Doing kegels every day would be unwise for the same reason. Like any other muscle group 1-3 times a week is sufficient to make them stronger. And then when body weight is no longer enough to challenge you, exercises that require bracing your core like suitcase carries and deadlifts should be enough to maintain your strength gains in your pelvic floor.

  • @eastafrika728
    @eastafrika728 Рік тому +47

    As a trainer myself, I think it's not about omission of the excercise, but about balance and scheduling of excercises in concert, kegels are important for testosterone and sperm production, however, for sex more muscles are required like the adductors, glutes, hamstrings, erector spinae and lower abbs. It's about how you schedule the excercise and the training routine. Having one muscle tighter than others is a problem of all muscles, not just the pelvic floor. Plus, you cannot just pin your previous sexual issues on just the kegels, it could have been how you did them, the frequency, the weakness of other surrounding muscles. So, no, people should not just stop kegels based on what you experienced (I believe that from your description, you had weak adductors) but should schedule and perform them correctly along with supporting or synergist and agonist muscles. Adductors are the synergist muscles with the muscles and vibrations just under the surface of your penis, that cause stimulation, they are also the blood flow control muscles. Reverse are excentric motion of squats and deadlifts, moving down the weights slowly in a deadlift and squatting down slowly are reverse kegels.

    If you have chronic PFD it will take a long time to recover, it took me 10 months of going to the gym consistently.
    When these muscles don't coordinate properly the symptoms are horrendous bladder urgency/frequency, problems defecating, sexual dysfunction, ect.
    Then you get these "flare ups" which is a sudden increase of symptoms and that is because your core is weak and everything surround the pelvic floor it takes a lot of dedication to improve your quality of life especially if you have had PFD for more than 10 years like myself.
    I agree, kegels make a weak and tight pelvic floor a lot worse you have to start by relaxing the muscles first and slowly rebuilding the surrounding muscles and eventually you can move to kegels and never strain when you pee or defecate as it is suppose to be a passive thing not something you force it will just keep you in a vicious cycle of symptoms.
    Also keep masturbation/sex to a minimal and don't drink caffeine or alcohol products while you recover because they are inflammatory and will just have you taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

  • @davidmickles5012
    @davidmickles5012 8 місяців тому

    There is a slight misunderstanding here that needs clarification.
    ALL exercises should be viewed in terms of CYCLES. Kegels are also a CYCLE (btw in yoga these are called bandhas like mula bandha, uddiyana bandha etc).
    If properly understood and correctly practiced these excersizes do NOT create tension in the body.
    Everything in life is a CYCLE - day to night, summer to winter, movement to rest etc.. Exercise is and MUST also be CYCLICAL and so I will explain this now..
    Muscles in proper exercise are to be "flexed" and then "released" in a CYCLE of tension and then relaxation. Then by doing so we are training the muscle not to simply be "tense" all the time, but to SENSE the difference between tension and release, or relaxation.
    If the CYCLE of "flexing and relaxing" is practiced properly, over time an over all state of RELAXATION is achieved - NOT a more tense state.
    What you are saying is TRUE about working entire muscle groups instead of isolated ones which can result in imbalances. But the idea that "kegels" or "bandhas" cause increased tension is not correct AS LONG AS these are properly done in CYCLE fashion.
    To say that "kegels cause tension" is like saying ""exercise is bad for you because it increases tension when I have to make the effort to move.""
    In truth, and in reality, you can only view relaxation in relationship to tension. In other words it must be a case of CYCLING between tension and relaxation - or else unhealthy imbalance will occur.
    Catabolic states are to always be followed by Anabolic states just as action need always be followed by rest.
    So how to do this?
    When you do these muscle flexing "tensing" exercises. they are to be done like reps in a gym, not simply held for as long as you can. They are CYCLED - tensed then released, tensed then released, tensed then released, and so on.
    Then, when you finish your balanced over all whole body routine, you rest, relax, eat right, sleep right etc, until you get up and start the cycle all over again - just like doing reps.
    EVERYTHING is CYCLICAL

There are many tantra teachers who agree with you on the risks of Kegel, but also say that if Kegel is followed by a deep relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles (either through reverse Kegel or through bringing awareness to that area) then this combined practice gives the best result both in terms of the erection quality and ejaculation control. Stress and anxiety is a killer guys!if your stressed in your job/relationship etc sort it out becasue it can cause a whole host of bad effects on your health.

      This is me i have low libido,PE and ED for many years went to see a urologist got tested and everything came normal which means I’m supposed to be enjoying sex bt the urologist priscribed me viagra i was pissed off because he was not looking for the root cause of my problem i never bought them anyway ,
      then i decided to do my own research which took years until this week i found out about belly breathing.
      All i can say within one day of breathing I started thinking about sex and i could feel
      my erection coming back and I’m having erections each time i think about sex there not as strong as i would want bt I’m sure soon I’ll be able to hammer a nail with my bbc😂😂😂 and regain my confidence as a man
      One more thing the normal kegel never helped me.
      So boys belly breathing is all we need
      bt make sure you see a urologist you get tested because sometimes you might lack some important vitamins and minerals as well

    Johnathan, does this practice prevent retrograde ejaculation?

    • @SexualKungFu
      @SexualKungFu  Рік тому

      If retrograde ejaculation is caused by having an extremely tight pelvic floor to the point of it contracting and holding rather than spasming during the point of ejaculatory orgasm, then yes this will help.

  • @marcb.8117
    @marcb.8117 Рік тому +3

    Thanks for these interesting new and helpfull infos and tipps! Bit if you are over the point no return, you need some strong PC-muscles to hold back the ejaculation. So I think it is good to have the right balance between both techniques...

    • @SexualKungFu
      @SexualKungFu  Рік тому +4

      Going over the PONR puts you into genital peak orgasm and energy loss is inevitable. I used to use that technique but it's far superior to redirect the buildup towards the direction of full-body orgasm so you never hit the point of ejaculating.

    • @marcb.8117
      @marcb.8117 Рік тому +2

      Hello Jonathan!
      Thanks for your quick reply.
      I can only agree with you: energy is lost in the process, although not that much, since I have mostly channeled energy into the body before.
      I also prefer to put all the sexual and orgasmic energy into the body and self. But since I also like to work with the intense energy near the PONR, it sometimes happens that I tip over into peak orgasm. And then the PC muscle is very helpful to hold back the semen and at the same time still pull as much orgasmic energy as possible into the body.
      But I also find, just from your video, that with consciously relaxed pelvic floor muscles and avoiding the trained and unconscious contracting in the sexual act, it is much easier to stay in the plateau phase and not approach PONR too quickly. Which makes it much easier to control:-) - So thanks for your help!
      And last but not least, the PC muscle is also helpful in other QiGong meditations, such as the Iron Shirt of the 5 Major Organs, to increase chi pressure.
      Many greetings,
      Marc@@SexualKungFu

    I totally agree. I think the people who recommend kegels are just regurgitating content out of convenience. I did notice kegels lead to premature ejaculation. Relaxing the pc muscles help prolong sex.

    I've been doing kegels every day because in a different video Sexual Kung Fu describes an exercise he calls Dantian breathing, where after inhaling, you squeeze your perineum three times while holding your breath. This he said is how you accumulate dantian energy, which is needed for the microcosm orbit or whatever. If I remember correctly he described it as a fundamental thing to sexual and spiritual health.
    But that basically is kegeling. I feel like SKF is contradicting himself here, now saying that kegels are bad. Now I'm not sure if I should keep doing them along the reverse ones or not. :S

However, one day i was doing stomach crunches and i had a weird feeling in my lower stomach, that was over 20 years ago and i haven't experienced any sensation at all during orgasm since. That's over 20 years of zero motivation for sleeping with a woman. Be careful what you do to your lower body area.
