*Hidden Fates Charizard example isn't ideal anymore now that sports cards investors have entered pkm and throw lambo money at anything with an orange or black dragon on it, so we're seeing some growth there again but it's still not where it used to be and for good reason. These cards aren't rare.
How do i search on psacard.com for the submission results of "great shogun shien" 1ST ED STON-EN013 ultimate rare? I wanted to know how many have been sent for grading to get an idea of how common it is. This card is worth an estimated $52 CAD the last i checked and i expect it to be abit rare. But nonetheless i wanted to get an idea of how rare.
The example of TTT - the value now is in its playability, in the future it's value would be it's nostalgic value to competitive players and it will be made rarer in mint condition because of how many people played their copies and damaged them. I agree however with the idea that newer cards will be very unlikely to go up in value because of how many are kept in perfect condition and graded.

I would think so? The BPT series is *very* old & it's getting some attention. It's the highest vintage rarity outside of DDS (which is inaccessible for a lot of ppl.). I think if ppl. are grading SDY Dark Magicians I don't see why a BPT Dark Magician would be too out of the question. It's probably never going to reach big boy bucks, but it's not pocket change either.
Nice video! What about 1st ed SDK and SDY BE/DM? Not sure cause on one hand it's obviously not as rare as LOB and DDS and such. But on the other hand to me personally they're the most iconic cards since it's what I and lots of other people started out with, so I can imagine them going up as they become more scarce over time 🤔

@@alisaverkuijl6537 Actually in gem mint condition the sdy/sdk 1st are more rare than their DDS versions.. but its not easy to get a psa 10 on them unless you are opening a sealed 1st starter deck and even then the odds from what i saw is 1 to 3 to get a 10. Also, you need to remember that those starter decks along with the lob set are the first products in yugioh (released in march 2002) so their 1st edition printing was much more limited compared to later products like mrl set or starter decks joey and pegasus. As you mentioned, the sdy/sdk dark magician/blue eyes are probably the most nostalgic cards in yugioh, also their psa 10 pop is very low (70 for blue eyes and only 39 for the dark magician). This is why the price of their psa 10 1st edition version is going up exponentially. In my opinion, they are one of the best investments in yugioh

From what I've learned so far, the only way to tell if your card is legit from 2002 is that is needs to be 1st edition. Reprints from the re-release OG packs like LOB or MRD etc. will have the same code as the ones from 2002 but they'll all be unlimited (non 1st ed).

Hey! There’s actually a website called yugioh prices that can give you an idea of what cards are worth by analysing all the listings currently on eBay. Bear in mind value is heavily dependent on the condition of the card, and most of the higher prices are for proper mint condition

Hmmm....I have some Starlight rares in mint condition (well guess every Starlight is mint since people are preserving them) and some PSA 10 Starlight Apollousas. Perhaps I need to sell these now. Listening to this, I strongly feel that Starlight PSA 10s are not gonna be worth as much despite how rare they are.

The problem is, I know absolutely nothing about Yu-Gi-Oh and I can tell that I have quite an impressive collection from a bit of amateur research, but at the end of the day I have no idea what I'm looking at, I can barely find it English cards I have on ebay, forget about the Japanese ones so if there's anybody that just likes talking cards and is interested in helping me figure out what I have, because I'm That kind of person.. if you collect anything card wise and just like talking about it or showing off or whatever, I'm down to look at whatever you have.. so if somebody is like me and is willing to help me figure out what I have, I would greatly appreciate it!

I mean, I don't even know if it's been out of print since Walmart continuously restocks their shelves with unlimited LOB. You can walk into walmart right now and get those packs. If you like the card a lot, there's nothing wrong with getting it graded, ofc... but long-term financially speaking, it's not rare or anything >

You can but it would be less valuable than the english ones i guess. Dont take my words to serious and do a little bit of own research. But i often saw how the languages sometimes make a 50% difference in the prices. But if you have a german LOB Blue eyes, or similiar cards like that, go for it

Like i said dont take my words too serious thats just something i saw several times that some of my or other german cards are not as much worth as the english ones. I think like its because the english cards could be more valueable because english is the world language. But like i said im no real expert, i just grew up with yugioh since i was 4 and my brother does sell yugioh cards and products. Demand is the factor here. A card doesn’t need to be all that rare if it has enough demand to see growth.

check ebay the prices sold for ungraded and graded...and look at yours see what grade you reckon good way to find out

The population is low because almost no one tries to grade them because there's very very very little demand :s

Damn just about to send in my Unlimited blue eyes from LOB in to PSA. Does anyone know if they are planning to reprint LOB again?
I mean, I don't even know if it's been out of print since Walmart continuously restocks their shelves with unlimited LOB. You can walk into walmart right now and get those packs. If you like the card a lot, there's nothing wrong with getting it graded, ofc... but long-term financially speaking, it's not rare or anything >

You can but it would be less valuable than the english ones i guess. Dont take my words to serious and do a little bit of own research. But i often saw how the languages sometimes make a 50% difference in the prices. But if you have a german LOB Blue eyes, or similiar cards like that, go for it

Like i said dont take my words too serious thats just something i saw several times that some of my or other german cards are not as much worth as the english ones. I think like its because the english cards could be more valueable because english is the world language. But like i said im no real expert, i just grew up with yugioh since i was 4 and my brother does sell yugioh cards and products. Would be cool if solem would answer us here to give us his perspective on this topic
