Great looking forest Steve. When you had camera looking up through trees with blue background it looked just like a mature real forest. Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks Nigel. I wish it was as easy as pressing (or not pressing) a button! That German Shepherd will not warm up to me or to Luca! I’m hoping this forest can stay small.
Some very lush growth on your Dawn Redwoods. Thank you for sharing the prereqisites for pruning Dawn Redwoods. That was very helpful. I have several in various stages of growth and some small seedlings for a forest planting next spring. Thank you for sharing :-)
@@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai Sorry I could not comment more. Arthritis in wrist and hand. Watching you work helped to keep my mind off the pain. Thank you for being a friend.
I appreciate how tactical you are in your decisions on pruning these trees. Thinking through each prune is so important. You made some great decisions here. You also reminded me I need to do an update on my Dawn Redwood as well!
I am determined to have a nice Dawn Redwood forest someday. Forests require so much maintenance, and it would be easier if the tree was ready when I was!
I'm having an issue with some thin branches looking leggy but only on one side. Any idea why that would happen? They appear to be droopy but alive and green.
Are these branches permanent branches, meaning they survived at least the last winter? Also, at this time of year, you should see buds on the permanent branches and on the trunk. Are there buds on the branches in question closer to the trunk? Sorry to answer your question with more questions, but I’m trying to assess the situation.
Thank you Steve. The forest is looking good 👍 Thank you for sharing 😀
Thank you Gail!
Allie brings back memories of my old neighbors dog. MILO I think it was. Ruffffff, Ruffffff!!!!!!!
I don’t know what to do about Allie. I’ve tried everything to get her to warm up to me. Caesar, the Great Dane puppy, is a big mush.

Thanks Chris. I’m glad the angle worked.
I have the same button on my camera, it activates sirens, dogs and lawnmowers! Nice work on the forest Steve, it looks so different in leaf!!

Lots of tougher decisions with the forest. Lookin fantastic, brother.
Thanks Billy!
Nice to see your forest get some work done too :)
The maintenance required is jaw dropping. I do it because I love it.
Great video Steve mate
Lots of decisions on that forest. Looks great 👊👊
Thanks Andy!
that is a good looking forest.
I think it will be someday. It’s a tough tree to tame. Thank you Mary.

The rules are necessary with this tree. Good luck with yours.
Nice tutorial Steve.
I appreciate that Tom

Thanks Dave. I’m interested to know if you are seeing any buds yet.
@@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai I shall let you know! When I looked over them last week it was mostly new green branches, not many ruby/rusty branches then.
I liked that perspective of the low shots. It was like walking through a forest looking up.
Thanks Bryan. That’s how I was making some of my decisions, so I needed to share the angle. I appreciate the comment.
Looks like a difficult plant Steve, l can see how you stared at it for ages.. thankyou

I’m a little nervous now to work on the big RWF that I got from Candice.
So many rules! But I think if I can follow them, the result will be good.

Hi Steve forest looks great but when you give intro could you stop waving tree back and forwards it makes you dizzy
Sorry John. Hope you got through it ok.
Would you please put your dog somewhere else when youre filming ?
Those are my neighbors dogs. My dog rarely barks. I appreciate your patience. I edited out most of the interruptions
