- Involved flight mechanics and the pure joys of dogfighting fill Star Wars: Squadrons with plenty of highlights, even if its campaign and multiplayer experiences can leave you wanting.
Edmond completed the Squadrons campaign on PS4 in about 8 hours, spent an additional 15 hours playing multiplayer on PC, and a couple of hours testing VR using both PSVR and Oculus headsets. Code was provided by the publisher. - Ігри

It happens in the prologue. The rest of the imperial campaign everyone is perfectly happy being the bad guy.

@@DanielLopez-fj9yz It does, but it's starting to become an overused trope in SW games. It was the same thing in Battlefront 2
The problem with Star Wars in general is “ bad guy is bad” and build the stories around the revels instead of the universe. I want a story where the empire is the good guy, showing why so many people sign up to be part of it, even more seen the rebels being terrorist and the real bad guys to the empire and the galaxy.
does this require a controller or does a keyboard and mouse set up have good functionality?
Bought the game and keyboard and mouse works just fine, although you really need to turn the mouse sensitivity down to nothing.
I have never been a fan of multiplayer games, but man, this game has me hooked. I am busy with my 3rd campaign playthrough (bumped up the difficulty), but it is the 5v5 Dogfight mode that got me addicted. I absolutely love it. Especially the asteroid field. I agree that the Yavin map is not that fun. With my PSVR and Thrustmaster Hotas 4, this game really is the realization of a fantasy I have had for decades...I grew up on Star Wars, Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica and The Last Starfighter. I remember laying on my back and looking at the stars in the back of our station wagon as a child when we had to drive somewhere at night and imagining that the back window was my cockpit window...And now I sit at work every day waiting for the horn to blow so I can get home and jump into the cockpit of my beautiful little A-Wing....
Thats great... makes me want a VR just to play this!
hands down one of my top fav game specially in vr. We need a No Man Sky verson of star wars

is this similar to rouge squadron 2? I enjoyed that game. I bought it day one. Played it a lot as a kid. The unlocks seemed endless.

Neither. Think the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter PC games. It's a Starfighter Simulator, not an arcade action game (which both the whole Rogue Squadron series and BF 2's starfighter assault are)

The game deserves way better score. def a 9/10 game for me and reviewers who played in VR all give it a 10/10 for vr.
Can you play ai in the multi player missions
Bought this game last night and spent 45 min playin on PS4 VR before I threw up... literally.... nerveless I did enjoy it a lot because I've been playing SW games since the early 90's (Rebel Assault, TIE Figher .... ) and this game really makes you feel you are actually there until yeah... you throw up because you loose the sense of time and space.
The original afterburner game had more buttons and switches on the screen than a modern day star wars game.
A real classic game for sure! Friend had it on his PC.
But...
Afterburner Arcade: Stick, throttle,Trigger, missile/bomb, start game, eject coin 1, eject coin 2.
3 buttons (for flight).
X Wing: Alliance has over 100 controls, if the pilot wants to be picky.

Playstation now is 60$ a year and you get games like bloodborne, resident evil 7, metal gear solid v, final fantasy xv, littlebigplanet 3, doom, the last of us remastered,hitman 2, dead cells, hollow knight and way more

If you have VR and a flight controller, this game is a solid 10/10
Since its free on the ps store for this month, I decided to give it a shot. Its a good game. Not great or fantastic...just good. I mean I'm having some fun playing it, but if it was on my game rack, I would pull something else out to play. I'd rate it as a 3.8 on a 0 to 5 scale

Reasonable score. I see it also as 7/10 game: good, but not great. I’ll just keep flying and exploring in Elite. Also can’t wait for Microsoft Flight Simulators Xbox release.
@wesley lol Developers latest update in October says: “The release date has not been announced yet. We will share more information regarding the Xbox release in the future.” But hopefully it is sooner than later in 2021.
It's a great game with some issues
the biggest issue for me......no DLC content. which has been confirmed, so i don't feel that it will have a long, popular shelf life, but will be played by hardcore SW flight gamers, which is fine. I just wanted more ships, maps, the MF, etc...

Star Wars Squadrons really makes you FEEL like someone who regrets spending money on another EA game.
I don't know this doesn't look that appealing to me bc it just look like the star fighters mode from battlefront and that was bad so this just looks like a full game of that

I thought that when i first heard it was coming out trust me man its not its amazing way better than starfighter assult ur ships dont pop in 5 seconds of being in a match for a start so much fun to play with freinds yeah people say there not much content but tbh its early days yet its good for a laugh and the vr is deff a game changer
Way better than Starfighter Assault. Your hull can take damage for one thing. Plus you have control over your ship (shields, speed, lasers).
This game is not arcady in ANY way. and DEFINATELY does NOT cater to all players. its an insanely hard game with a high skill cap. It's not "accessible" like you say.
It's a hell of a lot more arcadey than actual hard core flight games....
Just because it's your first flight game doesn't mean it's the be all end all

For the authentic just stick basic layouts onto the ships and don't overclock anything. No boost or different weapons.
At that rate the combat is just a slightly more complicated battlefront, which is much more limiting

Matheus Junqueira i mean the game is a hardcore, team based competitive game, so it definitely wont die out within the first few months. not to mention how fun the game is. even Shroud has been streaming squadrons quite a bit since its launch.

Matheus Junqueira yeah just do a little more research on the game. the skill ceiling is insanely high. and that isn’t really an opinion thing. if you start to try and get really good at the game you’ll realize how much skill it takes to actually be a good player

You’re the one that makes it an issue. It doesn’t impact the gameplay in anyway. I suggest looking inward and asking yourself why seeing women or PoC in the Star Wars universe bothers you :) And the thing is that if you play the game you will see that there is a balance there. Just play the game and enjoy it.
