STIHL 500i VS Husqvarna 592XP Cut Test

- Hey guys! Today we are comparing the Stihl 500i to the Husqvarna 592xp. Both chainsaws have a 32 inch bar and a new chain. We know that this test pound for pound is not exactly fair but though it would be fun, so here it is! Hope y'all enjoy!

I have both of these saws and the 592 just is the more powerful and robust. It is, however, heavier (10kgs/22 lbs) whereas the MS500i weighs the same (7.5kgs/16 lbs) as my old MS029-Super that I have had for 30 years and was a fairly light saw even back then - so the 592 may do better on s simple speed test, there are times when humping 22 lbs around just does my back in! Both are VERY easy to start and both need no adjusting for temperature.

Yep, them electric saws can get gone LOL. Per your last video, I had the husky electric die while i was taking the top of a poplar and made matters super sketchy. Both the 500 and 592 are such beast's, can't go wrong with either. The new Husqvarna 540 xp III also just came out and heard nothing but good things about it. Cheers bro!

GuiltyofTreeson has the new 540iii ported by redbeard, with the nano bar/chain and that saw screams! He did a comparison to his 200t and his 540iii beats it. It's got me wanting one. Plus it's 39cc 😎
592 has more power and weight. Operators were cutting in 2 very different styles. Need to switch users or have the same operator cut with both and do a split screen. Stock 592 will have it either way, but the results are actually much closer. Guy on the 592 had it down.
Thanks for the video, looking to replace my saws after a theft. Just what I was looking for - it’s the exact 2 saws I have been looking at. Always been Bit of husky guy @ heart but always good to think about other options & see competitor saws in action. that 592 one hell of a cookie cutter!
You’re welcome thanks for feedback. Hell yeah it is. I usually run a 25 inch bar in my 500i and I’m certain that it would’ve kept up with the 592 in that case. But I just wanted to see for fun what they would do with the same length bar 👍 I really love my 500 in the tree to me. There’s nothing better because it’s so light. But the next song I buy will be the 592 for the ground. Stay tuned plenty more videos to come.
that 500 needs a user mod
Trust me no user mod is going to make up that difference in power due to much larger cc’s.

The 592 has a bigger motor at 92 cc of course it would smoke a 500i.
We know this but I wanted to see how it would do just for fun. I think I’ll do it with the STIHL ms661 next that’s more fair 👍

should have switched users for saws to get an accurate test.. seems the 592xp user has it down.
I didn’t think of that at the time. Yeah the first cut was definitely bad 😝 second cut was better. The saw kept choking up on me. We did a cut test with the 592 against the 661 yesterday I’m publishing the video on Sunday. We switched users in that test. 👌 Check it out on Sunday. 👍
I lied, when I edited the video the clip where we switched users did not come out right could not use the footage 😡 I’m sorry about that. But it is a better cut test I think 👍 uploading it tomorrow morning check it out.

The thing is, the guy with the Stihl does not know how to cut honestly. The guy with the Husqvarna knows very well how to do it.
The pot head sticker 😂. That 592 is one mean saw. It sounds like it runs at a higher rpm, and the exhaust doesn't sound so restricted.

New Husqvarna is great.. 592xp have more power n heavy duty. Upgrade oil cap n quide bar... I have 395xp husqy and 661 stihl... Old husqy design so poor... 592 husqy.. wait for me...🤤🤤

Not a fair Race .The ms500i has a lot chain speed Lets get the ms500i Ported for more power and put a bark box muffler in. It will turn into a wild ass Monster
You’re definitely right it was not fair but me and the guys just wanted to see what would happen. The 500 is such an awesome saw. I thought it would do better than it did. if it had a 25 inch bar on it, which is the suggested size it would’ve kept up with the Husqvarna. 💯

Yeah but how long will the husky run for before it starts having issues. Stihl for life baby! And it’s almost a hundred cc’s bigger it better win.
592 runs strong and long. No issues hardwood timber.
