Nice to see there is no hostility between these two anymore.
There was never any hostility with Nardwuar lol. It was Sonic Youth who were being dicks
It is all in the approach, my man. Theres a difference between joking around, or messing with someone, or instead being a COMPLETE jerk to someone. Sonic Youth weren't tactful in their approach at all, just extremely rude. Nothing about what they did was cool or funny, so why be so disrespectful?
I'm glad nardwuar confronted them
Bully’s don’t change.
Jim O'Rourke is cool as shit man
Sonic youth: the worst part of any 90s playlist
"Come kiss these lips" was an apology from Thurston, lol. As for Lee...I'm still trying to figure out what he was high on in 1992, because he's usually more a calm, quiet guy. Same with Steve. I just really wonder if it was coke or something else?
PNVG just because they're quiet, doesn't mean that they are not douchy. Lee has became more chill and respected in newer interviews though.
PNVG and yeah they had to be high on something
@@JacksonGeary even if they were, doesn’t excuse their actions
Ftw you realize that narduwars career has lasted longer than sonic youths existence.
"CD's are a passing phase"
That quote is the epitome of our generation.
Im taking their 1 song off my playlist 😂
Never saw sonic youth the same after this. total jerks.
Does Thurston Moore ever age. He's looked 19 for the last 30 years
and acted like 5 for all his life
@@aggelbeatboxer maybe
@@aggelbeatboxer wow so if I act like a 5 year old ill become one of the most respected musicians ever?
@@black_spring "one of the most respected musicians" might be a slight stretch, but maybe, who knows! Give it a shot and lmk
@@aggelbeatboxer yeah man. The guy isn't totally friends with some of the most innovating musicians of all time and anytime He wants to play he just picks up the phone. He isn't hounded for interviews all the time. He didn't tour with Neil fucking young. He didnt get Nirvana signed and change the culture totally. I gotta keep working. Find more reasons right? Enjoy youtube.
Aggressively hipster
"you were in seattle washington weren't you mr sonic youth" haha fucking laughing here, nardwuar is always awesome
this video really sucks as a sonic youth fan and they were definitely being assholes here, but it is interactive how so many bands at the time were. i think nardwuar’s uniqueness scared them in a way, and they felt the need to lash out and attack that which was different to them, which is really antithetical to punk, but a disappointing fact of humans. we fear and attack what we don’t understand. i wish sonic youth were better than this but no one’s perfect
poor nardwuar got like abused by them last night and thurston didn’t even remember him at first
He was pretending not to, because he is smug and unapologetic.
did he just say that he tried playing his CDs on a record player. How? Why? OK I guess
Waiting on the documentary❤
Oh so they were still assholes a whole 11 years later.
Nardwuar was planning this confrontation for 11 years.
"THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU *Hugs him* THANK YOUUUUUU"
The Nardwuar Sonic Youth incident, never forget
