I have to speak to someone about the opening. Has anyone contacted an elder from the Northeast Alabama Native American community about attending the Grand Opening? It would be the appropriate thing to do since the land there belonged to the Cherokees of Northeast Alabama before they were removed to Oklahoma. Getting a blessing from an Elder help to show the NA community their traditions are respected.
3 years ago I watched a video of you two stuck in Yosemite….with a bird nest on your rig. And now,,,,, bam y’all got chicken eggs 🤗🤩💕. Craig and I will be at red bay for work done on our Tiffin ,,,, hopping we get out of there before July 1st as they shut down for a week or two,,,, I think it would be great if we can swing over eastward 161 miles to finally meet the bestest you tube creators ever!… after all it was you both that gave us sooo much information on our journey to living a simpler life. We’ve been blessed, worked hard and now look forward to the next journey of life. ❤

First off, CONGRATULATIONS on Your (soft) Opening of Thunder Canyon. I've been following your videos, and I should Thank-You for helping to bring me ease me back in to RV'ing. I started out in 76, with a dually and a self-contained cab-over camper. Graduated to a custom goose-neck that we built ourselves for racing, (and camping at the tracks). Then life changed directions for several years. Finally retired, and have be re-acquainting myself with modern camping. Not sure I'll be converting a van or maybe another small camper for the back of my newer (yet still older) dually. Just something for the dog and I to travel around in. Learning a lot from Ya'll. ESPECIALLY Enjoyed THIS video. Really admire Your Christian Beliefs, as well as Your Patriotism. Those Stars & Stripes waving in the background of this video, and the fact that Yall chose July 4th., Our County's Independence Date for Your Grand Opening of Thunder Canyon ... That's just something Wonderful. Bless Ya'll. Might not have our own rig by July, but know that we'll be there in Spirit. "🐾 & 👣"
It's good to see you guys coming out the other side of your huge challenge. People don't realize how hard it is to create something. I just asked them how much they were willing to give up to be successful.

I love your openness about God in your lives! I was just kicked out of a fakebook group for women campers for saying, 'God's with you; so are we.' The admin called that 'toxic.' Y'all have such sweet personalities. And your humor will keep helping thru the tough times. Just don't let it get to you. I left two campgrounds because of the anger and hostility of the campground owners. God bless y'all as only He can!!

I enjoyed my stay at the Bamboo Site and loved that Mercedes showed me the chickens, and that rooster! I meant to ask her how my daughter has chickens, but no rooster, yet they lay eggs?!? My daddy didn't have "the talk" with me when I was growing up so I'm missing some information, but that part I thought I understood. Maybe I better get back there for the grand opening and gather some more knowledge about this.

If I can ever make it out of Alaska and follow my dream of traveling to visit my favorite places and favorite PEOPLE … Thunder Canyon (and you guys) are on my bucket list. ❤️ You have me believing that dreams CAN come true if you are willing to work for them and BELIEVE in them. I was all set to head out in the fall of 2019, but health issues stopped me. Then the pandemic, and this year a total knee replacement. 🤷🏼♀️ At 72, I’m feeling the press of time passing and am not sure what the future will bring. It’s just me and my dachshund, Rhonda. Still, I’m packing my RV right now, and 4 months post-surgery, I’m ready to head out on a 3-week trial run to see if I’m still able. Maybe I’ll see the lower 48 next year, God willing. 🙏
Awesome campground! I'm 9.5 hrs away in eastern NC but would love to come some day. Been camping all my life and my boys love it too, maybe not so much the wife but she does camp! Have you thought about putting in a base radio (GMRS, HAM, etc) and/or repeater? Would be a good addition for general communications and emergencies!

God has put a vision in my heart for men to rise up, embrace our masculinity and leverage our masculinity to serve those around us. I enjoyed my stay at the Bamboo Site and loved that Mercedes showed me the chickens, and that rooster! I meant to ask her how my daughter has chickens, but no rooster, yet they lay eggs?!? My daddy didn't have "the talk" with me when I was growing up so I'm missing some information, but that part I thought I understood. Maybe I better get back there for the grand opening and gather some more knowledge about this.

Happy Mothers Day Mercedes. I have to say I've been watching y'all for a while now. Both of you look overwhelmingly tired. I know it's been a lot of work to get Thunder Canyon open but y'all need to take care of yourselves too. There is NOTHING that can't wait a bit while you take care of yourselves. Your health and well being should be 1st priority right now and EVERY day. Please take a few days to rest and recuperate from all the work y'all have been doing in the past few months. I love your campground idea but not at the cost of your health. P pray daily for you both that God will guide you in His direction. Now that Thunder Canyon is open it's time for you both to make time for your own journey. Rest and relaxation are what you both need, even if it's just a couple days off by yourselves without anything to do with your awesome project. I'm sure everyone will understand that you BOTH need a few days rest away from the park with NO interruption. I'm seeing how tired you both look and it's worrying me. I was all set to head out in the fall of 2019, but health issues stopped me. Then the pandemic, and this year a total knee replacement. 🤷🏼♀️
At 72, I’m feeling the press of time passing and am not sure what the future will bring. It’s just me and my dachshund, Rhonda. Still, I’m packing my RV right now, and 4 months post-surgery, I’m ready to head out on a 3-week trial run to see if I’m still able.
Maybe I’ll see the lower 48 next year, God willing. 🙏
You guys are great role models, we need that today in this crazy time. Can’t wait to stay at your place when I’m traveling through.

Awesome campground! I'm 9.5 hrs away in eastern NC but would love to come some day. Been camping all my life and my boys love it too, maybe not so much the wife but she does camp! Have you thought about putting in a base radio (GMRS, HAM, etc) and/or repeater? Would be a good addition for general communications and emergencies!
