- Hey guys, This is one of the harder videos to edit. We went out to @HolleyPerformance Ford Fest & brought out Snicker's our 1978 Ford F150 4x4 with a @MastMotorsports 7.3L Godzilla & sent it a little too hard.

The fact that this kid made a whistling diesel video..is beyond me...come on vato...the whole point of ford era I'm sure Is to rebuild and fix these trucks..you said it best that you had no idea how to drive this truck..all you needed was new tires ..but you instead put a 20k motor....dude I'm a loss..such a nice truck such a nice story behind it and to blow it on a burn out....tastless...when some one says they don't care and that they were just having fun that means...you don't know what your doing..... The tires were within the safe time to use. It was a mess of things that caused it.
I do care, what I meant was that compared to my life i don’t care about the truck it’s just materialistic.

Only adding a comment to say how sick I am of all the creators destroying vehicles in name of likes and subs. If you want to have fun tearing up an old truck hit the junkyard and buy a rusty piece of crap and leave the good ones alone to those that will take care of them

That's nothing to be proud of. So much for your 50K original truck. Several thousands of dollars and countless hours of bodywork for 45 seconds of fun. Just FYI, all the beds are interchangeable from 1973-1996. Go to pick 'n pull and get a newer bed, then hang dentside quarters on it. (you have to get full quarters, obviously) I'm glad to hear you plan on rebuilding it. Maybe put a locker in it next time.

As we used to say in road racing…never race anything you’re not: 1) prepared to set on fire and 2) push off a cliff. The awesome thing is that you’re having fun with your cars and trucks. Your rigs aren’t sitting in the garage under a cover. Shit happens. You didn’t get hurt, you’re healthy…you will, like all car guys & gals, pick up the pieces and rebuild. Good luck.

It was crazy to see in person! The slow mo clips are so cool in this video, it sounds like a cannon firing. I hate to see it happen to such a rad truck but you sure put on a show! Keep doing what you do.

BFGs wouldn't have blowed out like that. Always remember that. If destroying that short bed didn't bother you I didn't know what to say. But then again, I'm 59 yrs old. I grew up loving the 73-79 fords. Oh we'll. Make some lemonade man. And BTW I hope you do a detailed video on the godzilla swap. I'd love to do it to my 77 f 150 4x4 short bed.

This brings a tear to my eye. 😪 That truck was so sweet, and now it's basically totaled. lol It was epic to watch, no doubt, but I sure wish it would've been a typical rusty POS this happened to!!! Dude that was insane!! I was there & have a video of it (not as good as yours though). I was in the stands & voted for you after every other car ran. You won by a mile! My mind is still blown from seeing that live, so I can't even imagine how you feel after that. You're right about the haters or purists or whatever. But dude, the reason we do any of this is to HAVE FUN! & no doubt you did. As well as bringing joy to so many of us watching. Thanks brother, appreciate you bringing us along for the ride!

So that’s what built Ford tough looks like! I always wondered! Seriously tho if the tire didn’t leave the ground it most likely never would have blown, glad everyone was ok, like you said the truck can be repaired. Love the slow motion part of it exploding!
I hope the old dude you bought it from doesn’t see this. Probably break his heart. A friend of mine back in 1980 bought a pristine 68 cougar XR7 with a 390 from a neighbor,an older man himself,down the street with the understanding that it would be in good hands. He destroyed it over the course of a year. They were devastated watching it slowly die. They offered to buy it back for same amount even though damaged but no dice. About four months later he lost control in the rain ran it into a ditch at 60 miles an hour destroying it completely. I came by to see how bad the damage was and the neighbor he bought it from was walking away with a defeated look on his face. But hey it’s just a car,right?

That's a shame. I liked that truck. It was very recognizable. I saw it in the background of other UA-camr's videos. The box is easy to replace. I hope the cab can be straightened out. You should repaint it the same colors and pattern because the truck is infamous.

That was hard to see for those of us who spend years and hard earned cash getting their F100 drivable. I always looked to this channel for inspiration and encouragement in keeping Ford trucks alive and preserving their history. In fairness , I do not believe you thought the possibility of damage could be that bad. Now that you can see what could happen , I hope it affects your decision making in the future. (perhaps reserve your burnout with big explosive tires for Chevys)
It was and is still extremely hard for me too. Never in my mind did i actually expect this to happen to it. Sadly this wasn’t my plan but I believe that God intended it to happen as it did.
I’m just praying for clarity to understand the reasoning.

@@Milllusos Stories dont die unless forgotten. The truck isn't totaled, everyone is safe. This isnt some teenager who will have to sell it for scrap, he has the resources to repair it. This only adds to the trucks "story."

I have mixed emotions over this one...If it were mine (which obviously it isn't) I would be pretty upset but then again. I wouldn't have entered such a one of a kind time capsule to begin with...but that's just me.

Your truck your channel, but I hate to see this done to an original truck with custom paint, burn out competitions like this will definitely drive up the prices for people with clean survivors. I had a hard time finding a cheap 70's truck with a rust free bed in the 90's when I bought my first F150 so I settled on an 83... but at least you find them and drive them better than rusting behind the barn.

Me and dad restored his 77 when I was a kid. I drove it in high school and years afterward. My parents lost everything in a out of control "controlled burn" including that truck. Priceless sentimental value. Made me sick seeing that video.

I like your videos and I’ve been watching them for a while, but this was pretty stupid. You guys did a ton of work to that truck and even advertised how it was a “1 of 1 truck.” But if it really was that rare and you cared about it that much, then don’t do dumb shit with it and expect nothing to happen. Things go wrong, I wish you guys good luck on the rebuild and hopefully this was a learning experience for the future.

I’ve watched a lot of burnout videos and i have never seen a tire come apart that early in a run. In the slow-mo looks like a silver piece of debris cut the tire….
Imagine building a nice old ford that took a lot of hard earned money and time for some of us. Just to be more excited of a rebuild at the end that just goes to show how much of work the guy who owns it actually does compared to all the rest of us.

@@FordEra I assumed as much, for the most part, considering your obvious love for the trucks, but you must've seen enough of these types of events to know the likely results (even mentioning to pray for the quarters), & why most who do them build beater burnout vehicles so as not to destroy such nice rides, which I also assume you could build with so many parts around. Snickers can be fixed but will never be such a rare low mileage survivor again because of this & it was one of a kind. But I'm sure it generated subscribers & likes.
Agreeably I felt slightly hypocritical by calling you out for this considering I've actually considered the idea that if I build a cool offroad truck then take it out to the dunes & destroy it during a fun thrash session, the video online could generate way more business for my planned toy shop than the truck itself could ever sell for. Not something I'd want to do but that I understand about the world we live in today. Crazy times we live in indeed. Also, for what it's worth, had Snickers been so mangled on a trail it would seem less painful than doing so on pavement: far more fitting demise for a 4x4. :)

I really care, I love this truck a ton. When I said I don’t care what I meant was. I don’t care about any materialistic things. It is only a truck. I could have died and someone watching could have got hurt. So when I said I don’t care thats what i mean.
Trust me, I’m sick to my core that it happened. I just try to keep positive in all situations. Because there is nothing we can do to change the past.
