hey, thank you so much for this video! i have been wanting to switch from wf1000xm3 (which has a very bad mic quality lol) to either the buds2 pro or the linkbuds s and was a bit hestitant on choosing since i value the mic quality quite a lot (but the earbuds with actual good mic quality are either too bulky or dont suit my taste in sound). past few days i have been looking for such comparison videos and ended up finding this one on reddit so thank u! this video was super super helpful to me !
Thanks for watching and glad you liked the wind test, which is very important to consider when talking outside where wind gusts are often unpredictable. Cheers!
Thank you for the detailed review! any thought about Jabra elite 5 vs Sony linkbuds S? main things for me are good call quality in a dynamic noisy environment
Hello and thanks for watching. I'm considering it, but I need to figure out a way to properly test and ensure repeatability of results in different noise environments. Stay tuned!
Indeed the Linkbuds S and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are better than the other 2. However, I can guarantee that the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro and the Earfun Air S are much better than all the earbuds in this test.
Thanks for watching! In addition to voice call microphone quality, the sound quality has much more bass, in comparison to the Apple AirPods Pro 2, and slightly more than the Bose QC Earbuds II and Samsung Buds2 Pro; all at their highest bass settings. It's incredible for such a small lightweight Earbuds. Awareness Mode on the LinkBud2 S is just OK, and not as good as Transparency Mode on the Apple AirPods Pro 2, although it's no better or no worse than the Bose and Samsung's versions of awareness mode. Unfortunately, I have not tried with games, but video playback and video conferencing show no latency issues and lip syncing with Bluetooth audio looks normal. Cheers!
Thanks for watching. I've only compared the original Apple AirPods Pro to the new Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Gen in my previous video here: ua-cam.com/video/TkIb4MCUu80/v-deo.html You can skip to the 7:07 mark in that video link to hear how they compare.
I just got the Linkbuds S and when i am in a MS teams call, it amplifies all the ambient sound around me and there is no ANC at all and no option to turn it off. How is it so diff from that dynamic environment in this test? What firmware was used during this testing ? I am on v 2.1.3
Hi and thanks for watching. I am still on v2.0.2 as shown in the video right below each headset as you listen to each test. I too hear a bit of ambient sound during voice calls, which is to be expected, so that you can hear a bit of your own voice which is called Sidetone. headsetadvisor.com/blogs/headset/what-is-sidetone However, the Sidetone feature shouldn't amplify all the ambient noise around you into your ear, just enough that you can hear your voice and a bit of your surrounding. Sidetone is different in that the sounds heard during the tests in this video, is what the other person hears when you are talking to them (rather than what you hear), where the noises in the background should ideally be reduced significantly by the noise cancelling microphones as you talk in these noisy areas to them, so they can hear you properly demonstrated in this video for each of the different headsets in the different noise environments.
Your measurement criteria centres around how the other party hears the voice through the buds. Calls are however 2- way. Your own experience matters too. I suggest the following criteria: 1. Can you have ANC while on a call? It's pointless sounding great to the other party when you can't hear his response. 2. Does it have sidetone so you can hear yourself? Because earbuds block your ears so you perceive your own voice being very muffled. 3. How long can the battery last continuously using it for calls? Zoom calls do not last 5 mins each.
Hello and thanks for watching and the good feedback! The focus of these comparisons is on microphone voice call quality for the following reasons: 1) Most complaints about voice call quality is due to people can't hear your audio properly, which Verizon has made popular in the media with the "can you hear me now" commercials. But once voice data connection is good, the main source of complaints for voice call quality is the microphone quality of the headset, especially wireless Bluetooth headsets. 2) Most Bluetooth headsets have good enough passive noise cancellation due to the nature of the design of over the ear, on-ear and in-ear design, hence even without ANC, the amount of user complaints in comparison to microphone voice call quality is small. 3) Most Bluetooth headsets are able to control the amount of sidetone manually to user preference, and the default setting on most Bluetooth headsets is set optimally anyways by the manufacturer. Thus, in the amount of user complaints about sidetone in comparison to microphone voice call quality is small. 4) Battery life for talktime is definitely important, though there does not seem to be too many complaints about this in comparison to microphone voice call quality. 5) Finally, while aspects of 1) 2) 3) and 4) are covered in other reviews, what other reviews don't cover at all, or cover sufficiently or cover correctly for microphone voice call quality is: i) being transparent with their test methodology, since they are more focused on views and hyped features, and methodology is typically a views killer and/or they are not knowledgeable to know whether their methodology is even correct to speak to it or ii) not using a test methodology that is reflective of the actual real world experience, since they are testing using either the audio recording app which does not use the same Bluetooth HSP/HFP Profile and codec. Some use the Video Recording App, but also need a separate 3rd Party App to re-route the audio from Speakerphone to Bluetooth accessory, which again is not reflective of real world experience on top of that it's again not using the relevant Bluetooth Profile and Codec. Hopefully this helps sufficiently answer your concerns! Perhaps I will include these in future videos reviewing individual headsets, but for microphone voice call quality, I'm hoping my comparison videos will not only educate the viewers which headsets perform the best, but also help improve this main source of user complaints industry wide, by having other reviewers use the same test methodology (either with Zoom or other popular Video Conferencing Platforms like MS Teams, WebEx, etc.) to help identify microphone voice call quality issues on a wider scale, and drive improvement for the benefit of customers! Cheers!
No problem, I am just providing feedback. The areas I raised are relatively simple yes/no type of questions that do not require extensive testing, but are nearly never covered in a company's spec sheet or promotional material. I have purchased too many earbuds blind only to find out it was lacking in these areas, so I thought to share my experience.
@@ganwb79 Thanks again for your feedback and outlining your experience, and outlining the need for manufacturers to be be more forth coming (or making it easier) to outline some of their features. Will definitely see if I can incorporate your concerns into future Headset reviews! Cheers!
Best video compatarion that I´ve seen related to anc... short and sweet... straight to the point... thanks.

I appreciate your windy noise test coz I often want to call while jogging outside.

Please also test Huawei 's freebud pro 2.
Brilliantly done! Thanks for this.
Are you planning to do an anc comparison?

do you recommend the sony linkbuds s as an overall bud not just mic quality?
and if you tested them with games do they have huge latency?
Thanks for watching!

I’m shocked how good the Sony bud s sounds in all types of environments.
Thanks for watching. Yes, the Sony Linkbuds S surprised me as well, considering it's lower price.
Are the regular airpods compareable to the pros?
Thanks for watching.
