    Ellie,
I just purchased a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba and my HI horn was not working. After watching your video, I was able to drill out the rivets and see what was going on. Mine had a set of points that were dirty. I cleaned the points and bolted it back together. My Cordoba has a full voice now. Still haven't decided on what to name it. Thanks so much for this video.

It's so cool to see young ladies like you appreciating the old iron & getting your hands dirty!

    Ellie,
How awesome to see a young and extremely inquisitive female "gear head" (also known as talented and gifted)! I love your wit , enthusiasm, and sense of humor. Your '65 Falcon will definitely turn heads. Thanks for bringing a smile to a person who was 15 when your car rolled off the Ford assembly line!😋

Kudos to you for taking it apart. I don’t think I would have even considered taking it apart once I saw the rivets.

OMG!!!! I'm officially amazed. I've been working on Cars since 1977, Professionally since 1982.....
And I have never ONCE ever taken apart a Horn!!! 😲😳
That was literally my first look inside a Horn. New Horns are so cheap, that I, and everyone I knew, just replaced them.
A 57 year old Fart was just schooled by a 15 year old Girl!!! 😎😳😊
Thanks Ellie! You give me hope that your Generation is more than just Gamers and Slackers. Your Parents must be so proud of you!! 👍👍

There should be an adjustment screw on the back that makes the vibration more or less. Sometimes this fixes it without taking it apart.

Wait before you grind off the rivets (to late) but anyway sometimes just spraying PB blaster into the horn and beating on them will get them working.
After they are working an excellent upgrade is installing a relay to power them

Oh how I would like to put Ellie in the drivers seat of my motorhome and start the camera rolling. The twelve button keypad so far has nine noise makers. Everything from an Amtrak train horn and bell, to a siren and air horn from a fire truck, and a huge fog horn. I'm working on a VW horn now that was working perfectly fine in 1973, but now has issues. Vacations for us are literally a BLAST.

I took mine apart today as it wasnt working. It bench tested OK when in half, but never worked if assembled. Can't understand that..

I see you're wearing eye protection while grinding, and a mask while painting, but I would also recommend some ear protection when making loud noises. I can still hear the deer in the woods, at 62, before I see them, something my former co-workers cannot say. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

A concourse reproduction horn is available from Scott Drake for around $40. A lot of work to save $40.
