I'm going to try this on my FC. I don't have clunking noise, but I do get noise when turning the wheel while stopped. I'll give this a shot next time I drive it to see if it helps. I know some parts, it's not good to use WD-40 as it gets in the way of the grease its supposed to have over time, but worst case it will just mean hitting it with a little more WD-40 every few months to keep it freshly lubed.
@@HorsepowerLabs I haven’t taken it out this week. Been taking out a lot of the internal panels for paint but I’ll be sure to report back when I take it out. Thanks for following up.
Thanks bro. Imma try all your tips. I got a deal on some maxspeedracing coilovers worth 500+ for 300$ i thoufht they were defective or something but every adjuatment i make i get a different issue hahhahaha. Thr biggest mistake i made was my rear left coilover.... I BROKE THE LITTLE KNOB.... on honda civics you tighten in the shock with an allen wrench at the same spot... not with the coilovers i bought... you tighten them with abold under so naturally ... i snapped off the knob...
Just got new strut+spring installed on left front, it was whisper quiet for few miles and now its making horrendous squeak, crunch and bang noises. It was installed on that side first because old spring was broken, right front being installed on monday. I wonder is the noise because mismatched front suspension or did my mechanic screw up? I imagine there's no adjustment in stock parts? Also car pulls to the right. Visual inspection was ok, I'm no expert but seems to be in place.
I wonder of this is issue with all Max Racing Coilovers just installed mine yesterday and hear the noise when I give it gas. Like front end lift is causing a "clank" I thought mine was too loose so I tightened it, tightened damper bolts made sure nothing loose and still an issue. I'm gonna try adding wd40 to ball joints. Thanks for the info bro. Subbed since your the only one with this info.
I got a set of maxpeeding rods and my 2 front coilovers are clunking like crazy, I’m scared to put more preload I’m already bouncing like I have switches 😂
i do this on all my cars and it works perfectly for most applications but if the clunking is coming from the actual shock of the coil it’s time to replace.
@@jrot47 yes.. you won’t believe this, but I contacted raceland and they sent me a new pair of rear coils. So I just took my car to a mechanic and he changed them. The noise was gone after that. Idk man maybe I did something wrong the first time when I installed the rear coils.

In my car doesn't make any noise but when I hit a pathole it feels like it didn't have any shocks on the front . even tho the shocks are good, I have 16 damping and 3 to 5 mml of preload. so idk what the problem is ! if anyone could help ...
I like to run my coilovers a little softer than halfway on the adjustment in the rear and about 6 clicks less than completely stiff on the front so harder in the front and softer in the rear. Lol that last part didn't sound good.
Bro I got new BC coil over for my 17 accord but once I go over any small bump or pothole it’s sound like is bottoming out even going at slow speeds like 15mph. What to do?

Gonna try this out tomorrow hopefully it fixes

Not sure how that is set up but check make sure everything is tight. If spring is lose it could make that noise

I do have a clunk problem especially when I go really slow speed and turning. But when I drive fast the sound isn’t there. What could be the issue?
Could be a CV axle but idk probably have a professional take a look cuz it could be serious
Can you adjust the dampening on rear coils without taking the coilover? Planing to put my coilover on soft
No I have to lower the Coilover for that which sucks. Unless you can go through trunk
What if you have no pre load adjustment
Which brand is the best for such?
And Should you jack up the car before spraying?
Yes jack it up and when you spray it turn the wheel to move it around
Just bought some coilovers just for my 2012 lancer GT and I have the same problem when I hit a pothole
These you hear everything. On my other car I have expensive coilovers and so much smoother

I have that noise on BC too. But only in fronts. Also clunk by my feet. Did u have same issue? N how long did it last with wd40?

How do you tighten the lock nut???
It should come with a pair of wrenches for it
Will this work on d2 coilovers as well?
Yea if it clicks
ty bro
And also did it stop instantly? Or let it sit after spraying
The noise stopped right after. I jacked up the car and did full turns for a bit

yeah i'm hearing that clunking shit on mine. sounds like something gonna break lmao
Foreal I took them off
i tried this the clunk went away but return again after few days.
when you said spray the pillowball, did you do it from under? or did you do it from the top also somehow
I did it from the top. And moved the wheel from lock to lock
Were you feeling any feedback through the car/steering when the clunking occured? Mine is clunking but only when going over speed bumps!
Nothing through steering wheel just the noise
Grease anywhere the spring touches metal
My back rear coil over sounds like its clunking or when i a hit a bump it sounds like its "jumping" i tried the bolts with my hand but they didnt move
Also check too bolts make sure they are tight

How many mm of preload was it before you re-adjust?
I did the wrench thickness.. like 5mm - 8mm

Any ideas for the rears bro
If the rears are being noise. They sound lose. Try tightening the nut on top. It worked for me
