    I've been a gunsmith for 43 years, a police officer and armorer for 39 years. I bought one of these and started having problems the first time I took it to the range. I tore it down, studied the design, then put it back together and started troubleshooting. When I figured the issues out I contacted Canik, who aren't interested in speaking to me. The repairs aren't difficult, and would cost nothing except reworking a little tooling to make slight changes. I was able to troubleshoot and repair for about $15, that wasn't making anything it was buying parts available through the aftermarket. I actually was able to modify original parts to work, but I felt better replacing them with aftermarket parts. The pistol is 100% reliable now.
    The heavier recoil spring is a band-aid solution that masks the real issue, and costs Canik a LOT more than the real fix. It could compromise reliability when shooting lower power ammunition also.

      It is very sad. Canik spent years building a reputation of building solid firearms. And they are letting that all erode away on this firearm.

      I was really sad about this one, I wanted it to work so bad. And they never could get mine to run right.
      Also, in my subjective opinion, the compensator did not do much, if anything, at all.

    Same, sold mine after tons of failures on any ammo I tried. Not for me. For this money you could get Walther PDP and some ammo and no issues until end of you life...

      Unfortunately, I think Jacob is a very busy man dealing with broken TTI's. But he seemed nice to me.

    Never had an issue with mine. Use it for IDPA CO. I use the lighter recoil spring for all my ammo. Blazer, Federal, Winchester and Magtech Steel cases, all run perfect.

      I am so glad you are one of the ones that got one that ran. I think for all of us that got one that could not be fixed, and made right we would have been so much happier if we would have gotten a correctly functioning pistol

    I notice a lot of people who claim to have no issues with it seem to all be using a red dot while almost experiencing issues used iron sights. I wonder if the extra weight on the slide makes a difference

      Interesting theory. With as light as Red Dots are I would be surprised of that made a difference. But someone might want to check that out.

    I just bought mine a couple of days ago but didn't hear about these issues. I took it to the range today and had 3 light primer stirkes in the first 23 shots fired. After that, it ran another 150 of PMC and Winchester white box without issue. I'll take it out again Friday to see if the issue arises again. Thanks for the videos.
    On the shadow thing. I was told that is a design they put on the gun from multiple sources so im going to assume thats the case.

      I would love to hear how yours does on the next range trip. Some people are having much better luck than I did with mine. I hope yours works better than mine. Thanks for supporting the channel!

      @theBucketshallnotbeinfringed Two more light primer strikes in 300 rounds today. Total of 5 light primer in 500 rounds with PMC and Winchester White Box. It's not great, but I'll do a good cleaning now and oil. I will also work the slide about 300 times before I go back out to shoot. I try to work the gun in the garage for a while during the break-in period.
      I was going to use Blazer Brass, but it says on the box not to run through comp'd guns.

    Its a shame its really a great gun when it runs flawlessly regardless all guns are gonna have issues some more than others but to each there own

      It was fun to shoot, but the problem was you never knew when it would. And they can not seem to figure out how to fix the ones that won't shoot.
      My comment section has plenty of customers that have gotten guns back from service that still don't run.
      It is sad that they released onto the market a gun that they did not have the kinks worked out, charged people just south of a thousand dollars guns that won't run, that they cannot get too run. Bad business practices. I will probably never buy a CANiK again because of this.

    The range I work at has a TP 9 elite combat with a ton of rounds through it as a rental gun. It started acting up a few weeks ago: failure to return to battery. Changed recoil spring and detail cleaned and lubed. Still no joy. Given the research we’ve done my personal opinion is Camille has a measurement/ tolerance issue in that it’s affecting multiple models and different places in the guns life cycle. And obviously some are close enough to not have any problems at all. Good luck.

      Very good assessment. CANiK has such a good reputation, sad they are wasting that reputation for a few bucks. This whole process has soured me on CANiK, Century Arms, and Tarran.

    i’m shipping mine out, when shipping yours out did you just drop it off at any fedex location?

    • @theBucketshallnotbeinfringed
      @theBucketshallnotbeinfringed  5 місяців тому +2

      I boxed mine up with some paper in the box. Taped the packing label on the box and wrote the number on the box like they asked. Went into FedEx, and they scanned it in. 5 weeks later, they had it back.
      Let me know when you get yours back if it works. I'm praying for you better luck than I had.

    Spend your money on something more reputable. I had so many problems with my TTI, and I tried everything. Different spring, ammo, mags, secret grip handshake. (cause everyone says limp wristing causes malfunctions as if you haven't been shooting guns successfully your whole life.) Clean/lubed. Nothing made this gun reliable. I sent it in for repair and it took 12 weeks to get back to me. Their customer service has extreme spotty communication and gets a 1 star. Got it back and tried 100 rounds. It had a 13% failure rate. Other friends who didn't have the problems I had right out of the box talked a lot of shit about how great their gun was, until the striker started to fail after 600 rounds. Canik needs to do a recall and they won't. Me and everyone I know that has had one all turned them in for something else and just took the loss.

    I belive the recoil and striker springs are to heavy from the factory. I started shooting it with the low power recoil spring and 124 grain blazer. Ran flawless thew 150 rounds . I'm currently working with sprico changing the recoil and striker springs.

      I usually can find they positive in most guns. But guns that don't run, then get sent back and still have the same problems, hard to see the positive.
      But if you were lucky enough to get one of the runners, I can see why you would love it.

    Their customer service was good but my god this gun has been aweful for me. Honestly, I would've been happy if I had your failure rate of 1.5%. I was initially getting about 35+% failure rate. After they sent the high power spring I am down to 10%. Comparing this to my METE MC9 which was reported to have a lot of issues, I'm getting about 1% failure. I run about 300 rounds on each today and I got about 2 failures from MC9 and my TTI was failing at minimum once every mag. I use 10 round mags so that is 1 out of 10 rounds on average. I really wanted to like this gun but it is so disappointing.

    I have shot 1000+ rounds with no issues if you use cheap ammo or have poor fundamentals you will have problems with the pistol.

    • @theBucketshallnotbeinfringed
      @theBucketshallnotbeinfringed  4 місяці тому

      I am glad your gun is running well. And I never said that none of the guns will run. I used 4 different types of ammo, no reloads, no steel case, and al quality factory munition within the specs detailed by Cannik.
      I show videos of me shooting the gun, and you can see that my fundamentals are sound. No limp wristing or anything like that.
      I have had many people that have reached out saying these problems are occurring. And Century Arms and Canik have admitted this is a real problem they are having with their guns.
