Thank you all for watching this lapidary video with my new lapidary equipment, my cabbing machine, the cabber 6 from kingsley north. I had a blast polishing this lake superior agate, which is the state gemstone of Minnesota and my favorite mineral to find while out rockhounding. Funny enough, I found this agate stone on a short rock hunting adventure where it was found in a pile of rocks! Such a lucky find, thats how rockhounding and finding minerals goes sometimes. The polishing of this agate went very well and I look forward to showing many more lapidary videos with my cabbing machine.

I just bought a bunch of different obsidian to cab. Nice to see another person using just your fingers to grind and polish. I’ve been using a cabking for a little over a year and have gain some good skill with it. Thanks for the vid, keep up the grind!!👍

I just bought this cab machine 3 weeks ago. I love it but mind you, this is my first cab machine so I really can't compare it with the other ones on the market. I'm still learning to use it but I'm actually very happy with the results. I just can't stop grinding and polishing my rocks. The coming winter won't be boring at all.

Sorry for your pains of making the videos. You can consider yourself a stunt man....getting hurt while making videos! Lol. Honestly I found your channel this year and every time I watch it, it's so relaxing to see a rock formed up to the ways you make them. Always loved physical geology and this adds to it. Thanks! Happy new years to you and your family.

Congratulations on the new machine. Don't be afraid to use those hard diamond wheels - the DP wheels will last you a good long time. I spent a good chunk of time learning how to navigate my hands around the wheels to prevent my knuckles and fingertips from being "bit" by the other wheels...especially the edges. It will become easier as you practice. Happy Grinding!

Hi, Ya know, I've been thinking 'I want one of those 6 wheel do-flinkies' until today. I don't think my fingers would survive it!!! Lol. Your agate came out fantstic!!! But your fingers paid the price. I'm a big baby and after one scrape I'd be saying a few choice words and crying with pain. See, told you I'm a big ole baby!!! But I really enjoyed watching you make such a beautiful piece!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours!!! Take care, stay safe, healthy and happy.

I lucked out and found a used 8" Raytech Gem Maker with 2 hard wheels and 2 expandable drums, the arbor is so much faster than the lap.
I've found that standing up while using the arbor give me a little better angle on the wheels and helps me from hitting the other wheels with my hands. I still use my Hi Tech for all my flat surfaces thou. Good luck & enjoy

I agree that standing is the way to use a cabbing machine. It might not be as important when face polishing a rock like Taylor did, but it is if you're making a cab and trying to see the girdle line.

Nice work. Really liking these machines the more I learn about them. I thinkthe stainless steel housing and the motor being separate from the machine and replaceable are two great selling points. Everyone is always on the cabking bandwagon, but once the motor goesout it's game over for the machine. You really should wear a mask when doing this though. Silicosis is no joke. Just because it's wet doesn't make it completely safe. If you can smell it, it's airborne.

Describe a little more of your affiliation with Kingsley. Does this mean that we might be able to get some kind of discount? I really want a cab king or similar, and I would seriously consider making a run up there.

no discount code but if you use my link and buy something from their website, I make a small commission. The price doesnt go up for anyone by using my link though.

Loved the video. I was looking at that machine for my first cabber. I saw you got nicked a couple times during the polish. I have big hands and am concerned that it may be to small for me. I may have to look at something different. Do you still use your flat lap a lot or not so much. That is an option for me as well.

Great video. Amazing result. Nice to see Kingsley North get a KNC6 into your hands. I got mine in September and love it. I get all my stuff from Kingsley North and couldn't be happier. Mainly used for polishing Petoskeys. I have one suggestion for you. You were using the center of the wheels the majority of the time. You need to use the entire width of the wheels. You might get "bit" a bit more, but they will wear more evenly. Granted, it was your first time, so you get a bit of a pass. ;)

I'm sure it looked like I only used the center, I know its hard for the viewers but I only show what I show. I was very mindful to use the entire area of the wheel for that exact purpose. It just so happened not alot of the full surface polishing on the wheels made it into the video lol

Great polish !! To polish a natural shaped stone like that do you prefer the flat lap or the cabbing machine? I have been considering getting a cabbing machine, but all I polish are natural shaped stone and usually only one side .

Hey Taylor, you will notice a lot of people use dopping sticks when using a cabbing machine and now you know why.
