    I have a creek beside my house that keeps me supplied with a variety of beautiful rocks.
    I just found your channel. I tumble rocks and I just bought everything I need to do the work with tools like these. Your information is what I am needing. Thanks. I look forward to more knowledge from you. ☮️

      I'm new to tumbling, I only got to tumble a few batches before I had to step away from it for a year or more. But I'm working to get set up for tumbling again! Slowly acquiring what I need. If you have Discord and would like an invite to our rocktalk server, let me know! I'd love to have some tumbling people there 😁 You're lucky to live next to a creek with good rocks! I'd spend so much time there if it were me 😅 Thanks a lot for being here 💜

    What is the diameter of the diamond drum you're using to rough out the stone ? Thanks, enjoyed the video very much.

    Just recieved my Amazon box with the diamond bits & also sandpaper & drum you shared links to. Thank you. Do you use your drip system with the diamond bits & the sandpaper drum? I'm just so excited to start, also joined local Rock club & went on my first field trip. & Wow what fun & great specimens -Jasper & some small leaftype fossils. To much fun & beauty! Thank you for your videos.

      Hi, thank you so much! Yes I use the water drip with the diamond bits and the sanding discs. The bits and discs last longer because they're staying clean and cool. The rock stays cleaner, too! But the first 2 years or so of me polishing like this, I did not have a water drip system. Just frequent trips to a bucket of water 😅

    Can you put it in a rock tumbler as well ? It’s really nice 👍🏻❤️

    • @thebroadhouse
      @thebroadhouse  5 місяців тому

      Yes! Red Jasper does very well in a tumbler. I know a spot where I can collect some, I'll try to get enough and make a video of the tumbling process! it'll take awhile so just keep an eye out for it 😁

    How did you know when to move on to the next grit?

    • @thebroadhouse
      @thebroadhouse  5 місяців тому +4

      The way it looks and feels and the amount of dust it's producing. Once you start a new grit there will be a lot of dust but it reduces as the surface smooths.

    Why don't you use cerium oxide for final polishing instead of mineral oil?

    • @thebroadhouse
      @thebroadhouse  5 місяців тому +6

      I didn't know about it! I just looked it up and that's something I'll be adding to my list of things to get! 😅 Thank you for suggesting this!!

  • @catzkc5488

    How many discs do you typically use at each grit? I figure it may take at least several?

    • @thebroadhouse
      @thebroadhouse  2 місяці тому

      For something with the size and hardness of this jasper, yes. Usually, it's just one disc per grit.
