    People who say he didnt achieve enough in his career are idiots, Uniteds top ever scorer, Englands top ever scorer and technically amazing.... and this is from a Chelsea fan!

      The main issue is with England - definitely faded away when the important games came apart from when he burst onto the scene. I'm a big fan and think he's had way too much stick but there's a nagging feeling that if only he could have repeated what he did in those first games for England...what could have been :(

      Is he club legend or football legend? If he is football legend then where he will stand? Pele,Maradona,Messi, Stefano, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and C Ronaldo are football legand.Sorry can't put him in this bracket. He is MU legend and one of the most hype english player and that's all.

      hmm rahman, how can he be most hyped english players when hes the record holder for goals for both club and country along with winning alot of silverware during his years. ? im pretty sure that qualifies him as one of englands greatest.

    Rooney is a legend but gets so much hate just because he's not as good before but in his prime he was something else, always so hungry and aggressive.

    • @toiletcomputer
      @toiletcomputer 6 років тому +29

      Good points but just to add to the hate point some people were more just constantly frustrated with him because his first touch in tight areas was generally awful for such a great player.
      On the flip side there haven’t been many players who can strike a ball as well as him

    • @beerus966
      @beerus966 6 років тому +17

      That's because the media made him to be better than he actually is. He's been on the decline since 26 when your peak years are supposed to be 25-28 after Cr7 and Tevez left he has been bang average scoring the odd wonder goal. Very good but never world class just in a world class squad until SAF left.

    • @teewhiz_
      @teewhiz_ 6 років тому +88

      Beerus if he was average how did he break the man Utd goalscoring record and England Goalscoring record and also he took us all the way in the champions league to the semi final vs Bayern. He was world class and still is when his in the mood. The guy used to take on 8-10 players at a time and beat them all. And he proved he can still do it against Crystal palace in the final of the fa cup.

    • @teewhiz_
      @teewhiz_ 6 років тому +52

      For me Rooney is not in decline he is just not bothered about his football anymore. He thinks about the team more than himself which is what I love but sometimes hate about him. If he took his football serious he could have been the greatest ever player to step on a pitch.

    • @teewhiz_
      @teewhiz_ 6 років тому +52

      Beerus also if he was average since sir Alex left look at his stats in the David moyes era 19 goals and 13 assists with young,cleverly,Anderson,Fletcher etc. Wayne Rooney carried Man Utd even when Ronaldo was there He was the one doing the dirty work and picking out a pass for Ronaldo to score if he is average you obvs haven't got a footballing brain or don't watch football at all. Rooney is one of the greatest England and Man Utd have ever had.

    Great to hear Wazza's take on that golden era between 2004 - 2009 .... Chelsea vs Man Utd back then at Stamford Bridge was an almighty clash.

    Rooney is one of the greatest players England has ever produced. He played so many games and sacrificed himself a lot for the good of the team. Technically he was so underrated his vision, passing and shooting accuracy were up there. I don't think he will ever be truly appreciated but for sure he's LEGEND period!

    Fair play to Wazza. Offered a great insight although not the most articulate at times, but he's not made for television unlike others. I'm certain he'll make a great manager!

    As a lifelong Liverpool fan i never thought id ever say this...EVER!. But he's actually fairly articulate. You would never of guessed that in a million yrs from his Interviews when he was a player. But credit where credit's due!

      I don't think there's any point in comparing Paisley and Shankly to Ferguson. All three were absolutely superb managers. Much like the whole Messi v Ronaldo debate, once those 2 retire it won't be a question of "who was better?" but more a general sense of overwhelming appreciation for fantastic players. I'm a Liverpool fan and I've only experienced the era of Fergie, and to me he's without a doubt the greatest ever. All 3 are managerial inspirations however.

    I’ve always thought Rooney had a lot more about him than people give him credit for. I think he’s just a bit shy and awkward. Few years on tv getting used to it and I could see him pretty good at it. Glad to hear his desire to go into management too! So many good British players don’t seem to bother..... and that’s coming from a Welsh Arsenal fan so no loyalty to the guy.

      He’s already showing at Derby he has plenty enough in his locker to manage...because he clearly motivates others.

    I find it quite funny that there are so many rules yet size of pitch can vary so much. I suppose it helps make home and away games more interesting.
