I've watched this a few times, and I can't help just take from it, that Keane is not only extremely humble.... but his respect for other players as HUMANS, is amazing. He's spoken about taken advice and tips off senior players, when he was in his youth... and also he always talks about being a senior player, and having others take information from him. At 35 years old, the names of Hughes, Sharpe, Bruce etc.... it's great to see him remind me of how good they were. Roy talked about the character the most and football being priority irrespective of what else was happening around those players. At that time (even today) if you are at United, you definitely have players with skills and talent. It is how they keep their hunger for Trophies high and take responsibility when the game is not going their way.
Some of the current squad players won't put effort and drown easily in negative emotions even when the game is a draw. Maybe the low desire for glory due to hefty pay-check and long contracts made them think they can't be disposed of for putting less shift. Also, As Roy pointed out most of the players at his time at United were self-motivated for improvement rather than coaches asking them every day to train hard or work out the issues themselves. They just follow the training module and when something comes out of the syllabus, they choke.
I think the brilliant character is the most distinct feature of any big team that separates them from other teams because in terms of raw quality United had brilliant players then and even now but that mentality in the squad is missing.

As a Liverpool fan, Roy Keane was a player I admired and enjoyed Watchung his style as he mentioned in his interview speaking about Robo, he filled those shoes pretty well.
As for the best 11 you guys pressurized him to do, SCARY to to face with Keane' s exclusion from the 11, top quality. Thanks for the entertainment.

Liverpool fan but Jaap Stam for how short a stay he had in England had the biggest impact. Probably the best we've ever seen. Similar to Van Dijk now and before you get on me, Gary Neville himself had compared the two many times. Just make defending look a piece of cake and utterly demoralise attackers.

agreed - have to say im surprised he left out Scholes, he was pretty pivotal for them so many times. I fully understand Ince he was a superstar at the time, but Scholes body of work at united is outstanding
