I was lucky to live a short ride from the Fillmore East. I went to all the shows there. Saw this show, saw the Live At The Fillmore show in March, saw them on the last day of the Fillmore. I'm seeing this vid for the first time, didn't know there were any from those shows. Now everyone can see an example of what it was like. How awesome to see this, and with shots of the audience and I'm one of them. This was over 50 years ago, but this old man is still a stoner, rock and roller. Rock on, all you Allman Brothers fans. You have good taste in music.
I don't know how it is for you, but I think it's really a great wonder to see the legendary *Allman Brothers Band* with Duane on guitar and Berry on bass ... Beyond all considerations this is a historical film of enormous importance.
I saw them 3 times! The last time was after Duane was killed, it was in ‘73 at Watkins Glen along with the Dead & the Band. A weekend with my older brother I’ll never forget, the party of my life! ☮️
It's damn good & i was lucky to have seen them twice with this original line up . Once at RFK & once at American University both in 1970. Opinions be damned they were the best of the best. The only crummy thing about this recording which i have an old copy where you can barely hear Greg on Dreams till the very end is all, now it seems they have cleared it up best they could as this is better than my copy as i can hear Greg better than the original release of this Historic moment in real rock history. Thank for posting this & i know it's all over YT but we can never get enough !!!! 🎸🎸🔥🔥
No backing tracks, no lasers, no smoke machines. No auto tune They make tuning a guitar into a song during the show. No in ear monitors, just pure unadulterated music.
Unreal that this was 51 years ago! So much talent and such tragic lives. God Bless The Allman Brothers Band! Hope Greg got to see Duane the very instant he left this earth.
If you weren't alive to hear this when they first appeared, there's no way to explain how remarkable their sound was. You can listen now thankfully, but to be 20 years young and hearing this for the first time was simply amazing. I'm so glad I was. I didn't get to this venue, but I made it to others for which I am eternally grateful.
I saw the ABB come together in the late 60's when I was in high school in Jacksonville. Jax Beach Coliseum, the Forrest Inn, Cedar Hills Armory, the Be In jams in Riverside. All this gave birth to what followed. Jacksonville was a hot bed of rock n roll music back then.
When my brother turned me on to the abb Duane was already gone and Fillmore east was all we listened to. Duane was like a mythical legend we could never see. Then Berry was gone too. To watch this video is the first time seeing the legends perform and it’s a magical experience. Thanks for sharing this video.

Priceless footage of the most talented group of musicians of my lifetime ... 6 individuals in perfect union with each other , communicating , thinking , & performing as ONE dynamic unit . Stunning . PLAY ALL NIGHT !!!
I’m barely older and I’m 59 , can you imagine being able to pick up a guitar and play slide like Daune at that age . People talk about all the great slide guitar players now that was around then , but look att how Duane could play then because he was called home in his early 20s , very early. Just think what he would be playing like if he had been around the whole time like Clapton is . WOW . RIP Duane
I was 17 in 1970 and they were still not real well known when this was recorded. This was a showcase for new bands at The Fillmore. Unbelievable band, sad that two crucial members died within two years of this show.
This was a magical time of music making. I am 75 and still relishing the the unity of this group of amazing musicians in a time when so much music is synthesised or copied or digitally manipulated. The Allman Brothers were original and so creative in their music making from what came out of their heads and their hands.
The Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, The Who, The Rolling Stones, CSNY, Joni Mitchell, Traffic, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and all the other amazing musicians and bands all at the same time. We loved every second. It was a golden era; a beautiful flash.
They're also better than any band that came out of Britain ! The Allman Brothers Band were the real deal; those British dudes were pretenders and posers. Rock music originated from the American south, not from Britain. Those British clowns came to America and regurgitated American music to white American kids and made a killing. The Allman Brothers Band (with Duane Allman) were the best !

I’ve commented many times about seeing the guys from the very beginning at least 15 times all over the Northeast. They played every venue from here to small clubs to many college campus. Paid $1.50 to $20.00 at the Spectrum in Philly when they topped the bill. I been playin 52 yrs and am their age and also agree with every good comment , even from the younger fans and musicians. The main reason for writing this is that this version with Liz Reed really ( hard to believe) is what draws you to them . Skydog was undoubtedly the finest Coriciden slide musician of the modern age, but this shows all of them walking the dog. The double leads, both drummers, Greg playing the B3 , using “Leslies”, and Berry’s fine ,fine bass backbone. Many passed to heaven back then, but we really mourned Berry and Duane’s death. Big eerie blow. But they lived on and stayed strong.Sorry for taking so long. Peace, Rocky

I happened to catch the Allman Brothers in late 90s on the East coast. It was my only AB show. I’ve always enjoyed their stuff, but Duane Allman, was a legend. Thank you for posting this show. ABB Stole the show at Woodstock 2 back in "94". Say "Hi" to Duane & the Brothers for me. See you in the Next World..
I've read many comments on how young The Brothers were, but just as amazing is from the time that Gregg joined the band until Brother Duane left, was only 30 months! Let that soak in for a little bit...
OK then... I've made efforts to get any/all vids of Duane - on or off stage for many years. Not a lot out there it seems. This is new to me. It's maybe my fav concert with Duane playing, so despite the difficult sound, I appreciate it so much! thanks
How about some love for Dickie Betts. Not only was he a fantastic guitarist. He wrote many of their greatest instrumentals. He brought a lot of the jazz feel. The man gets hardly any credit.
The last time I saw Dickie, he was being dragged back (by roadies) to the tour bus parked near the Stone Pony, his boot tips dragging along the sidewalk, drunk as a skunk.

This is such a great video! The sound (well, except for a few spots. Including Greg’s vocal. But still can hear it and sounds better than some boots I treasure) and visual is mostly pretty good. Thanks for sharing this with us!
My fave band of all-time had a concert on the day I was born! How cool is that?
What an Era in music, the Fillmore East and West😎
I lined up at 6 am on a Saturday morning to buy tickets to the Allman Brothers back in the early 1970s, only to find out that the concert was cancelled because Duane died. I never got the chance to see them and now 50 years later I can.
Caught them in Charlotte NC probably around 1970 or 71
After Janis and Jimmy passed.
Great!
DIS B MY KINDA MUSIC 🎸👍👍😎

This the original Allman Brothers Band this was the best Allman Brothers Band! With Duane Allman Berry Oakley, Dickey Betts,, Jerome Johnson, Gregg Allman, in the other drummer!
Drummers are Jai Johanny Johanson (Jaimoe) and Butch Trucks.

Word I heard is, Gregg learned keyboards in able to join his older brother, I mean along with his soulful vocals .✌️🦅🇺🇸🫶
Talk about soul!
Amazing video 🤩🥰😍
Didn't know the band had two drummers and once had an African American! It's amazing that this happens between a southern band even more so at that time
"once had?"
Jaimo was original member and was with the band till the end in 2014...
ER'BODY African.. axe Louis Leakey....ALL MEN BROTHER'S (WOMEN TOO)!!☻️
Jaimoe Johnson was the first guy Duane recruited for the band.@@PaulOfriaTEST
Not only was he in the band, as a founding member, but they all lived together in the same house in Macon, Georgia.
AMAZING!
