Thanks guys I'm Bob! That was my post I have an 85 GT convertible. I've had 7 Fox body's this is my favorite. Thanks for offering content on carbureted Mustangs! I love this channel, faithful subscriber!
If you guys enjoyed the idea about more carburetor content this guy is what gave me the idea. 👆
I need an advice someone is selling me a 85 mustang gt for $2,500 original paint but its faded out interior is clean with original engine, do you guys think is a good deal??
Love those 4 eyes.
Yes sir!
Everytime I watch one of your uploads the foxbody keeps growing on me
It's a platform you can do just about anything with at much lower costs than a lot of other cars. Can't wait to see you in one.
GearHead704 when I move to Cary I’ll definitely hit you up for a spin
Remember those old mustang commercials The Boss Is Back one hot piece of American steel love the four eyed cars interesting repair video
Yeah! I used the boss is back commercial in the first Q&A video with Matt I believe.
@@GearHead704 Ok probably why I had a flash back.
Man I miss my ‘86. I love the 4 eyed foxbodys
I think that was one of the first videos I saw of yours way way back when you took a 4 eye to a drag strip. They've really grown on me.
1985 is the best year....might be because mine is an 85.
That might have something to do with it 🤣
Four eyed and carburetor Foxes for the win !!!!!
I used to not be a fan, but man they've really grown on me!
I love all foxbodys especially 4 eyes .Great seat rebuild video .
Thanks man, it's all Foxbody's all the time here LOL
i keept hearing bout this car and never seen it ..now i get to see it ......nice
Hey Shane! Yeah it's way cool.
@@GearHead704 i got a 85 t top also .....but its not a stock rebuild ...lol....you have seen it ....it wuz at foxtoberfest ...
@@ShaneHerald I like them "not stock" lol
@@GearHead704 i do to ... i wish more people would do the "this is my mustang" thing cuz to me the stock interiors where kinda bland in the foxbody's... my beloved 4 eye especially and seeing every thing every one does custom i just love it ....a guy gets great new ideas from such cars....not as in doing the same thing but taking something you see and putting your own twist to it ......
Hahaha.... Love the bloopers!!!! And love the content bud!😂😂👍👊
Thanks Joe, and you're the main reason I made the bloopers a permanent thing.
@@GearHead704 haha.... Thanx bud... I love them... Seeing how all that work that gets put in isn't always perfect.... Shows the goofy side of filming too!😉😁👍👍👊👊
We got a Matt gang
💯that's right!
Diving right in there !
Matt left me no choice pretty much LOL
I agree with crazy fox-My first and still own is my gray/black 86 gt-top and I’ll never drive a Chevy again 😁
I really really want an 86. Of course I think I want all the Foxbody's lol.
13 min drum brake change. Not bad not bad. Lol I always have to leave one side together to make sure I get all the springs in the right spot. Lol good video!
Thank you, I had fun with this one. Yeah he is dadgum quick with those drum brakes.
Simma down peppy 😂😂😂 that end was cray cray! 😂😂. I know a lot of Matts... all cool people so far 😎
Wait if we watch the whole ad without skipping it helps you?? I’m learning 😂 I’m gonna have to see if they have any 40th fox shirts left! I could only get one shirt at Foxtoberfest darn budget 😂😂
Awww and you still bought a shirt from me! Thanks. Yeah, I get a little crazy sometimes. It does help, but it's not a big deal to watch the ads. I'm happy people watch at all. Thanks Jess.
GearHead704 you’re welcome, big fan! 👍👍
That was a fast brake job. It would be 3 or 4 hours for me.
You're quicker than me at least Jim! LOL
@@GearHead704 hahaha
This car bring back a lot of memories. My brother had a black 85 GT T-top. He bought it new and I later bought an 86 model. His would out run mine because I had the AOD transmission. We both sold them as we got older . We still bring those cars up in conversation from time to time and we BOTH regret not keeping them. Keep the content rolling 👍👍
Matt was telling me about an 85 he had like that too, which he unfortunately let go at 11,000 miles. It happens sometimes. Would've been cool to see your two cars with manual vs manual.
Oh look a BIGFOOT = Big Shoe
🤣
Mustang scavenger hunter that sounds like a blast. Enjoy!!
Thanks Mike. It turned out to be a lot more fun that I thought it would be.
Great video of awesome 4 eyed carbureted GT. I had a blue one just like that 30 years ago and currently have a 84 GT Convertible.
Thanks you. I wasn't a 4 eyed fan for a while, but I just can't get enough of them now. Yes, keep the verts alive!
Love it, you guys are killing it
You are too kind my friend! thank you
Here champ you've been doin great mane keep it up
Jay C! I always smile when I see you in the comments. Thanks mane.
@@GearHead704 oh yea that's wuts up mane
Wish I had known about the scavenger hunt.
Gotta get on their e-mail chain buddy. I thought you signed up when we were there LOL
@@GearHead704 I am. Not sure why I didn't see it.
....wow at the end there lol
What can I say, I really stunk it up 🤣
@@GearHead704 🤣😂🤣😂
I have a 99 35th annual Edition convertible New Edge that I'm restoring. Just redid the seats, they still use that same head rest tab set up. Its a pain in the A- - to get the head rest out. :)
Oh wow, they still use the same head rest setup in 99. Who would've thought that. Sounds like a nice Mustang you have there though.
Nice looking car!
Thanks buddy!
I want me a t top baaaaaddd!
Me and you both dude.
Man, I'm glad I don't have a GANGSTA LEAN in any of my foxes yet, LOL. I enjoyed the video brother.
Too bad, sometimes it feel good to be a GANSTA 🤣
Great video brother can’t wait to see the next video on the scavenger hunt.
Thanks man, it's a fun one I think, although I haven't watched the girls footage yet hah hah
Great show..tell matt to stand firm...lol...
🤣 That was unexpected but a great moment. We are always cutting up.
i enjoyed this one as always. After you mentioned all three Matt's it got me thinking about Mr. Automotiff for some reason. How has he been doing? Hope to see him back on the channel at some point. I'm going to go check his channel out after I finish this video. I had "almost" forgotten about him. I was reminded of how much he helped you earlier on and especially when I saw foxresto Matt work on drum brakes. LOL.
Hey dude! I still keep up with Terry (MrAutoMotif), but haven't seen him in a while. He has actually been getting the SVO painted, and i'm hopeful we can get him on the channel again soon. He has been very busy with his family, so I don't think he has been able to upload in a while, but yeah he has helped me a lot over the years and is a great friend.
Thanks man. I’m still around just been really busy and the svo is getting painted for 5 months now. I’ll be back soon. Hope all is well. Plus it doesn’t help that my name isn’t Matt :). Just kidding.
T TOPS IS AWESOME LOL I LOVE MY FIRST MUSTANG THAT I STILL OWN WITH T TOPS AND WITH 69 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES
LOL I WILL NEVER SELL.
The seat fix was great! I need to do that on mine. Now I know how. Thanks. My seat even has the bolster rip like Matt's too!
Oh that's great to hear! Love it when my vids do more than entertain and actually help some too.
The first mustang I ever been in was an '86 GT t-top. Fell in love with mustangs from that day forward.
That is the 4 eye I would want. EFI plus t-top, plus 4 eye sounds like a win for sure.
Y’all crack me up. Keep up the fun informative content.
Thanks James! We were having a blast for sure.
🙋 remember me with my 82 gt t-top I'm building
Wouldn't dream of forgetting you man.
Hell yeah 😎
My 1985 Mercury Capri 5.0 5 speed had the very same seat issue.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully this info in this vid might help.
11:30 That AC idle solenoid looks pretty new. Do you have those or is that an adapted unit? Part number?
Fox Mustang Restoration may have them. You can give them a call at 704-888-1278
That boy Matt welding without the shield "thug life" lol
ROFL, I wondered who would catch that. He shut his eyes for that part since he gave me the auto darkening helmet.
@@GearHead704 I do that too sometimes making these kits lol quick tack lol
My 85 t top driver side and passenger doors are very hard to close. Do you have that problem too? I've changed door strikers, no difference. My hinge pins don't have any play in them... I noticed the thick weatherstrip by the mirror area is making it hard for the door to close without extra force.
You have a lot of videos on this car I just got a 85 t-top 5.0 5 speed and my windows are messed up trying to find someone on UA-cam working on theirs
Unfortunately I don't. You can try calling Foxresto at 704 888 1278 or e-mail parts@foxresto.com for any parts or work done that you may need for yours.
Awesome video Bro 💪You are getting alot of experience with doing your own work and helping others with there project.Thatz great. And I didn't skips any ads.lol Stang Life 🐎
🤣 Thanks for not skipping any ads LMAO, I'm glad you caught that man. thanks.
Thing you. I have a 85 mustang T Top
Awesome, those are Matt's favorites as you likely know.
I have found out that 1985 mustang has a few models I had no idea about..not just gt lx and coupe..then they have a twister 2 and the predator and the ssp I have no idea how to tell if someone had 1 of these cars..cause years later stickers and details go missing.
Yeah so many options and models back then, especially in the 4 eye days. Got more limited on choices as they went on in years.
Matt I don't know how you drive these cars with the feet you have. I wear 13 4E's and I had to heat and bend the clutch and brake pedals to give me more room between the pedals. I still sometimes hit two pedals at once. How do you do it????
It isn't easy. Some way say I don't drive it well. Especially at the drag strip! LOL
What happened to the headlight on your car . I didn't notice it missing before.? You should have done one side of the rear brakes just to see how long it would take you to do it 😂
Yeah that was out a long long time ago, in my own garage I believe. Found a wasp nest in there, but luckily it was vacated. I didn't want to be there all night LOL
@@GearHead704 I was working on my hotrod toy this weekend and needed a tool out of my shed and found a baseball size wasp nest out there right when I opened the door a swarm of them came after me and I don't know how I got away from getting stung but I did probably cause I was moving so fast I could've walked on water😂😜 lol but I regrouped and went back and killed them with some spray lol. Yeah I've always hated rear drum brakes 🔧🛠🚗
#TeamTTop
That's right dude! 👊
Quick question. I have a 93 lx hatchback that's reading 82000 miles on the odometer. Is there a way to tell if the odometer has rolled back? Only asking because the car is not exactly in the best condition for 82k miles.
Unfortunately there is no way I know of to tell with the 5 digit odometers. If the condition is real bad in the interior including passenger side, my guess is that it's like 182k + but that's just a guess.
@@GearHead704The interior is in pretty good condition. The only things wrong is the missing map pocket and the door panel on the driver's side is coming apart from the door itself, and my power mirror switches dont work. Also the paint in the engine compartment is a little faded. Either it has 182k miles like you said it or the mileage on the odometer is correct and the car just wasn't properly cared for. Thanks for replying.
I assume you’re in Charlotte? 704 area code?
Yes that's right!
I have that same gangster lean in my 83 & its is on my list to get fixed next (finally) Love the halo headrests! Is the second Saturday of june open for the swap?
Halo's are awesome. I assume it is not on, I haven't heard different, but if I do I will let you know.
MATT CAN U ASK MATT WHY MY SEAT WILL NOT LOCK THE SEAT BACK ,I JUST CAN FLIP IT FORWARD WITH OUT THE SEAT BACK LOCK🤔🙋♂️🙋♂️
Hi Mike. I will try and remember next time I see him.
He said passenger side may br broken or gummed up.
first
It was a tie, at best.
Looks like it.
@@GearHead704 good thing i wasent here.
Yo - wait... was I first?
So close. YT lists you second in my comments, but the same time stamp!
