Dolly is Miley's godmother. So it would make sense that Miley would have mannerisms like Dolly. Also Dolly Parton wrote this song it's based on a true story from her life. She's an awesome songwriter and singer. ❤
Dolly Parton is not just an awesome songwriter, as the songwriter of the song 'I Will Always Love You' she is the most successful female songwriter of all time.
This song is actually a true story about Dolly’s childhood. The coat of many colors is on display at Dollywood. She had a very poor and interesting childhood. Dolly is Miley’s godmother, so of course she’s picked up a lot of tips from Dolly. They actually have a few songs that they perform together. I’ve never been a big fan of Miley but when you hear her with Dolly it’s like she steps her game up and shows off her vocal tools.
Dolly is a Country Music Queen. And yes, Miley Cyrus has a great voice. People tend to dismiss that, but she is very talented. And, in her defense, there is an interview with Miley where she talks about how once she turned 18, she was under a lot of pressure from those around her to become more provocative and shed the good girl image. Sadly, she's not the first who has faced that pressure.
Dolly is a legendary singer and from all accounts a great human being. She created Dollywood partly to help the local economy so that people in the area would good paying jobs in an area where thats rare. Then she has her book program giving free books to school age children. The song itself is amazing too. Miley CAN sing she just recently started using that voice. If I remember correctly Dolly is Miley's God Nother.
I think the message of the song is powerful. It was made into a movie about 10 years ago. As for Miley, you can find a lot of postings of she and Dolly performing together, and you can see the respect Miley has for Dolly.
Dolly’s coat of many colors is on display at her museum at DollyWood. It’s small in size as a child would wear but oh so large in making such a super star and icon she is.
That coat is not the original. The family was poor and when Dolly outgrew it, the coat was handed down. Dolly was child # 4 out of 12 children. No one knew it would become famous, so nobody saved it. That is a recreation on display.
If you want to be moved by a song you need to watch Dolly’s live performance at the CMA’s singing “He’s Alive”. Should check out her new rock album that she did for her husband because he prefers rock over country.
She said her husband helped her pick out the songs, but she did the album because she was inducted to the rock n roll hall of fame so she decided she better make a rock album
@@wgj4everlong426 very true, I also never knew her husband did not tour with her and never went to one of her concerts. He’s always been very supportive but just prefers to stay at home after retirement and work on projects he likes. He I believe was a very successful business man with his own company.
You should listen to the 2022 New Year's Eve show Miley hosted in Miami. Dolly and Miley sang together on"Wrecking Ball" which merged into "I Will Always Love You."
No, you are seeing the manners of Dolly in Miley, not the other way around. When Dolly was big? She's still big. Check out "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind".
I like the stripped-down version of this song better than this, even though it' still good.. Just Dolly & her guitar is better. And Miley is Dolly's God daughter, so she has been around Dolly her whole life & they have some cool duets together. They did a sweet song called 'Rainbowland' & the morons in a Wisconsin school banned it, because they say rainbows are about the LGBTQ world, & the song obviously promoted that. Jesus. Fact is, it was about liking the color you are because all colors are great, It was about acceptance & love. FYI Miley just won a grammy for 'Flowers'. It is really good, too.
I will suggest you reacting to: Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, & Loretta Lynn - Silver Threads and Golden Needles (official video) Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, & Emmylou Harris - The Sweetest Gift (there is a great live version from the '70s out there)
You should watch Miley and dolly sing together. There is a version of them doing Jolene together from New Year’s Eve. You can really see the love between them.
Without a doubt the worst version I have ever heard of this. But you know what options can be compared to. Lol. My dad was friends with dolly and when my sister had a horribly tragic car accident she had the most beautiful flower arrangements sent to the hospital weekly
I was about 10 years old the first time I heard this song. I was with my dad in his Chevy P/u truck on our was to do some Pheasant hunting in the early 70’s. This song touched me at the age of 10 and is my favorite song Dolly did.
The song was made Into a Movie...the girl in the movie, that stood up for her, was a true character and they became life long friends! Judy unfortunately died in 2022. ❤
This is the worst video/audio of Dolly singing this song. To treat yourselves check out a more intimate version and get a good look at her playing guitar: ua-cam.com/video/mfIvRKR3OHw/v-deo.html
This is Dolly so it’s great. But my favorite version is just Dolly & her guitar. No background vocals or musicians. And if haven’t seen it watch the movie Best little whorehouse in Texas with Dolly and Burt Reynolds. She plays a madam. Also stars Jim Nabors, Dom Deluise, and Charles Durning. So hilarious!!
Miley.......CYRUS? Christ tell me Im miles off and mistaking her for a different Miley. I flat DONT BELIEVE that Dolly would claim her as goddaughter up to and beyond that Wrecking Ball song. The moment Miley started twerking with her toungue hanging out. Dolly would have disowned her. I will lose basically ALL respect for Dolly if its Cyrus. And everyone else should too. Nobodys life or career is big enough or philanthropic enough to justify that.
I remember when this song was released in around 71 or 72. I was in high school and kind of getting away from liking country music. But this song got me. The story of Joseph was my favorite Bible story. And of course Dolly was always amazing. As for Miley, some of her antics make me cringe, but I absolutely love her voice. Flowers is one of my favorites from her. And I think she received a Grammy for it.
Dolly Parton and NBC made an made for tv movies the first one is called Coat Of Many Colors and the second one is called The Christmas of Many Colors Jennifer Nettles from the country music band Sugarland plays Dolly Parton's mom and Ricky Shroder plays Dolly Parton's dad , both movies are good, and it s a must watch to understand the upbringing and the childhood of Dolly Parton.
Linda Ronstadt also has perfect pitch - check out her "La Charreada" from her "Songs of my Father" album - her vocals are AWESOME!!!! I remembering seeing her preform this on SNL & was simply blown away with my mouth hanging open - she was freaking unbelievable - & I am a die-hard Linda 'The Voice' fan from way back on day 1!!!!! There is a reason Dolly did a collaboration album with Linda & another pitch perfect Emily Lou Harris ~~ they are in the same league with her!!!!! Linda ROCKS!!!
You should watch the 1977 interview of Dolly Parton by Barbara Walters. Barbara was trying to belittle Dolly as a hillbilly who didn't know how to dress properly. I saw an analysis of the interview by an expert in communications. He praised Dolly for being authentic and in reaction to Barbara's rude, demeaning questions, responding with honesty, class and natural charm. The interview helped Dolly reveal herself as the real deal, while Barbara Walters lowered herself into the muck while trying to tarnish Dolly's persona.
"Dolly Live in London" was on HBO in 1983, long before Miley was born. But Miley has looked up to Dolly all her life. Dolly was her godmother and Miley has learned how to sing and phrase from Dolly.
In these uneasy times, you should listen to "Hello God" from Dolly. It's over 20 years old and still so unbelievably relevant. It will give you chills. Speaking of chills, and with Easter coming up, "He's Alive" is a must. Btw, Dolly is Miley's godmother.
If you're looking for great female country singers you need to do Emmylou Harris. Boulder To Birmingham would be a great choice, but there's many others.
You should check out Miley Cyrus singing Metallica Nothing Else Matters with Metallica live on the Howard Stern show its amaizing as well as anytime she sings with Dolly.
There are at least 50 recorded performances she produced that are way better than the sound quality of this one. Why did you select this one? Maybe you are just unlucky.
Don't feel too bad about what you thought of her when you were 12 . You were a typical 12 year old boy. She has always been in on the joke ... she knows people think she's a dumb blonde. She knows she's not dumb or blonde.
& dolly has an amusement park naned after her in Gatlinburg called dollywood & she has an amusement park in pigeon forge & she also has a hotel in pigeon forge called the heart song hotel
Gentlemen you do realize that Dolly Parton is Miley Cyrus's godmother don't you. Miley grew up in Dolly's life so yes there are going to be similarities.
The thing with miley is she started on the disney channel way back wen & she was hannah montana back then that was her former name back then & she could sing back then
First of all, Dolly is a great entertainer but she is also just a stellar human being, which I wish more people knew. As far as Miley, so you are seeing a direct example of nature vs nurture, as Dolly though not blood is family and had a direct influence on Miley's raising and becoming an artist. Also, I would suggest two songs to go look at Dustin. Miley's Used to be Young and she did a cover of Nothing Else Matters, with Metallica. She can sing, and the weird you have seen... that has toned down as she has grown up. Obviously can't do on the channel as they are not country. Also if you want to see Miley and Dolly side by side, there are a lot of duets of them out there, including Jolene and I love Rock and Roll. Miley's rasp and Dolly's pure voice go very well together. And of course Dolly covered Miley's Wrecking ball, on her newest Album Rock Star... you should listen to that too, but it is rock with a lot of really cool duets. Thanks guys, as always great job.
Agreed! My favorite Beth Hart performance is Am I the One live at Parideso. One of the best live performances of all time IMO!!! Also fun fact, Miley Cyrus has said that Beth Hart is the best female vocalist of our generation. I think she is definitely in that conversation!!! I hope Keith knows who she is and if not, I pray he checks her out after reading these comments. He will fall in love with her vocals!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Miley’s cover of Nothing Else Matters. Metallica performs it with her on the Howard Stern show. You will probably have mixed feelings about it since it’s a cover of a rock song. But it’s still impressive to me
You really didn't say much about the song. I hope you loved it as much as the rest of us do! I. love when Dolly writes/ sings songs from her childhood/home. Agree with comment on watching Dolly sing, "He's Alive!" I get chills when Dolly performs this song.
Dolly has always been a pleasurable listen, and yes Dustin she has numerous attributes to her credit. On a family vacation many years ago, we almost got inside Dolly world. Between the humidity and the long wait line, one of the elder of our group wasn't up to standing that long in the heat. I promised myself next trip no excuses, so I have the regret, but never got the next trip. Sadly, life gets in the way sometimes! Good review as always.
I’m with y’all on the Miley business and I totally agree. I saw a video of her covering “Man of constant sorrow “ as a tribute to George Clooney after “o brother where art thow “ movie. Probably an awards show. That performance showed me she can actually sing. Y’all should check it out.
Need to watch Jewel 99 Woodstock Who will save your soul! Not country but she puts her voice on display! I love listening to her when it's just her and her guitar! She also has a song with Dolly Parton! My father's daughter! Which would probably fit in the country category! After all jewel is a country girl, grew up in Alaska! And was married to a bull rider (Ty Murray) and I lived on his ranch in Texas. When they was married! They had a son together. The show Alaskan last frontier was mostly about her family!
Have y’all heard Miley’s cover of Nothing Else Matters with Metallica on Howard Stern?? If not, YOU’RE WELCOME😊!!! I know yall won’t react to it on this channel bc it’s not country but I wish you would report back after you watch. I’ve heard Miley do many amazing covers but this one is next level INSANELY CRAZY GOOD!! Powerful vocals for DAYS! It made me wish Miley would do a rock album ASAP! Dolly is Miley’s Godmother and she is most definitely one of her biggest influences, if not THE biggest. Miley has discussed the impact Dolly has had and continues to have on her life and career in many interviews over the years. Miley, like Dolly, can sing almost any genre of music with amazing vocals that make you feel something because she sings with her heart and soul!! I know yall will love the Metallica cover with Metallica, it’s EPIC 🔥🔥🔥
Maybe it's just me but it never bothered me until I watched this channel (thanks to you guys lol) I got to the point where I can't stand backup vocals behind the singer 😂
A few other ladies you should check out: Lorrie Morgan - Watch Me, Something in Red Kathy Mattea - 455 Rocket, 18 Wheels and a Dozen Roses Trisha Yearwood - There Goes My Baby, Believe Me Baby Suzy Bogguss - Hey Cinderella, Outbound Plane Wynonna Judd - My Strongest Weakness, A Bad Goodbye Mary Chapin Carpenter - I Take My Chances, Shut Up and Kiss Me Pam Tillis - Cleopatra Queen of Denial, Maybe it Was Memphis

It's hard to believe you haven't played a Dolly & Porter duet. She started as a teenager on his TV show back in the 60s. They had several no1 hits.

You guy's should listen to Dolly, singing a song called "OLD FLAMES CAN'T HOLD A CANDLE TO YOU" really good country song by Dolly.
Maybe it's just me but it never bothered me until I watched this channel (thanks to you guys lol) I got to the point where I can't stand backup vocals behind the singer 😂
Not really a Miley fan but her cover of You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome by Bob Dylan is worth hearing.
She wrote this on the back of a dry cleaning receipt on her tour bus.
How can I upvote Coal Miner’s Daughter?
Backyard sessions gave me a new respect for Miley. I can relate as I have a deeper singing voice like her. Her voice is beautiful.
One thing about Dolly. She's a sweet lady and always smiling and saying good things. THAT'S Dolly every time I see her.
To me, the most powerful Live vocal performance y’all will ever hear is:
Martina McBride - Where Will You Be
My FAVORITE Dolly song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope ya'll like it as well!
This is my mom's favorite Dolly Parton song❕❗ She used to sing it at karaoke❕❗
dolly is her godmother
A few other ladies you should check out:
Lorrie Morgan - Watch Me, Something in Red
Kathy Mattea - 455 Rocket, 18 Wheels and a Dozen Roses
Trisha Yearwood - There Goes My Baby, Believe Me Baby
Suzy Bogguss - Hey Cinderella, Outbound Plane
Wynonna Judd - My Strongest Weakness, A Bad Goodbye

I vote for Garrison Brothers Cowboy Cut Bourbon😂😂😂😂
Coming soon -Dustin
@@BourbonCountryReacts I know you were drooling as soon as you saw the bottle. It is the number 1 bourbon for 2024 according to Forbes magazine and won numerous awards so it’s not just a double gold, it’s a gold streak 🤣
@@BourbonCountryReacts you know how much I love Found North, when you taste this one you will almost forget about Found North, you will close your eyes and see a field of Blue Bonnets and star saying the stars a night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas
And actually since you guys are recording tonight I think the link for Willie Whiskey River at Austin City Limits 1981 is a good song for that bottle, not only will the bottle blow your mind, but the song will have Keith needing out over Willie’s guitar skills and if you go to the restroom at Austin City limits you can play with your little Willie while looking at pictures of Willie nelson😂😂
