as a mexican kid that grew on a wide arange of scary mexican folklore watching this movie at age 10 on uncensored public TV at 11 pm was horrific but now a days i thank my parents for letting me watch it cuz´ well, now i love it !
The greatest horror movie ever made and an absolutely haunting sound track. Perfect music for a perfect film. It's as if Kubrick dropped a guerilla camera crew into a 17th Century English village and filmed a pschotronic horror movie. And used "Greensleeves" as the base for an utterly compelling and creepy soundscape.
The best ever horror soundtrack theme imo - from one of my 5 favourite British Horror films, in order: Witchfinder General (Another great soundtrack btw!)/The Wicker Man/Blood on Satan's Claw/Captain Kronos/Captain Clegg.
Great soundtrack and fantastic film too - one of the few in the horror genre that comes even close to the feel of The Wickerman. Saw this first when I was about 14, and loved it. British Horror at its blood-curdling best :-) thanks for uploading!
Saw this movie as a really young kid and just remember it was creepy and a guy cut his hand off because it was possessed or something it was the early FOX days I think
+Billy Troll I always wondered where Sam Raimi got that idea from. Bruce Campbell flipping himself over with one hand still makes me crack up! You just don't see that kind of dedication (or stupidity as those guys have said on various commentaries) very much today.
absolutely fantastic score. superbly clever - it starts of playful in the film, almost sweet and pretty much like the landscape itself...the fields, the flowers, the forest seem quaint and romantic before you realise that there's blood and bone in the soil and the rot has begun to set in within the community. absolutely wonderful.
This was always a favourite of mine too. It was supremely suited to the movie and the period in which it was set. The composer is Australian ex-patriate Marc Wilkinson. There's a good page about him and his career on Wikipedia.
I saw this movie late one night on British TV many years ago, and it has always stuck with me. One of the main reasons was the music, but also the scene were Linda Hayden is nude and the nasty rape scene. I was only a young kid at the time and it made quite an impression on me. I have it on blu-ray now, along with some other classic British horror movies that I always liked.
I met Linda Hayden at a charity autograph convention on 24th October 2015. Lovely lady, had a nice chat with her about this film.
You met her? I would love to meet her and maybe have her sign my blu ray of B.0.S.C.
@@joshfulcifan1015 Yes, Wendy Padbury from the film appears at Dr Who conventions too, on all accounts lovely also
The music fit perfectly for the movie, especially the end. Very dark movie but atmospheric.

Amazing piece of soundtrack history

Totally- , they used Greensleeves as the basis for the score in Witchfinder General as well.
The Blood Beast Terror was scored by Paul Ferris (who is also credited with the score for Witchfinder General).

outstanding, excellent film and soundtrack!

Weird little badass tune

Yeah, I totally agree, this is an awesome theme, great soundtrack! It's epic!

Eerie tune, so evocative of a morbid movie, and era (mid 17th century, though the 1960s weren’t no slouch neither).

Along with his score for Lindsay Anderson's film If...., Marc Wilkinson's scores have a way of getting under the skin and making one get goose pimples
Inspired. Ageless. Brilliant
Cool
David Bowie's "The Bewlay Brothers" seems an echo of this.
Bone-penetratingly terrifying. My goosebumps have goosebumps.

Reminds me of a Studio Ghibli score.
What are your (you or everyone) top 5 Horror movie soundtracks/scores?
5) Taste the blood of Dracula (1970)
4) Carrie (1976)
3) Midsommar (2019)
2) The Haunting (1963)
1) The fearless vampire killers (1967)
Does anyone know the instruments used in this? Would help me a lot. :3
The primary melody is the little known ondes Martenot, a French electronic instrument first developed in the 1920s.
Patrick McMaster
Thank you~
Patrick McMaster
Yeh just looked up some videos on that instrument, it's surprising how many things I recognize hearing it in now
oh,yes...this theme was better than the movie per se...but the slo mo effects with the devil pitchfork fight was tight!!
Beautiful. There is a beauty too in mocking the church.
