I think that's going to be your catch phrase for this video series: "Deepa, what have you bought...hmmm". I really appreciate the videos. Highly entertaining. Keep them going please....
Yep, heard of the original a shop, lots of stories, but that one, indeed, is nothing to be ashamed of, choice wise...That must have been VERY hard to pick something & keep one's wallet not empty ! Thanks for sharing...
G&M knock it out of the park again. I did some tastings recently with Richard Urquhart and out of 14 bottles tasted there wasn't a single one that I wouldn't be happy to have on the shelf. The best value can be found in the Connoisseur's Choice cask strength collection (but of course you already know that based on Deepa's shopping bag😅) Too bad there is such a huge price jump from the ~20-25yr bottlings to the 30yr+ bottlings, but they can be real gems....
Be careful and remember those Blanton's with the currency conversion plus the 700ml vs 750ml ends up at $101. No real bargain. The real value to me looks like the huge selection of things we don't see in the US much. Or you would have to travel for miles to find a single bottle.
That 1979 imperial ($3100) sold for $1900 on SWA. Would you trust those bottles to be legitimate? Do you know if these auction sites provide any scam protection or is it buyer beware?
I have recently been involved in some independent bottling projects and became aware of the label regulations, one of which is that the Independent company's name has to be significantly larger than the name of the distillery, from where the spirit was distilled in order that no one would mistake them with official bottlings. I recognise the The Single cask range which are 100% in accordance with these regulations. However, before then at about 4:20, you showed something called "Distillers label", like Longmorn, Linkwood, Mortlach and Glentauchers, Ardmore where the distillery name is considerably larger than the G&M label. Interesting. Being that they are called "Distillers Label", I assume these are semi-official Bottlings?
Some interesting bottles there, but I've had some bad experiences from G&M. A Caol Ila which was tasteless, a Bruichladdich which tasted like liquid wood. I wonder, you mentioned that the Edradour distillery has been closed to visitors since COVID. Do they have an alternative Signatory bottlings shop or is it all online?

Independent bottle Heaven ⛅️
Amazing shop. Great selection and good prices. Even saw my birth year. I paid $65 for Blantons at Safeway!
In America?
@@WhiskyMystery yes. In Washington State.
Well done

You won’t catch us buying blantons

Auctions have no way to check. I have not had any bad experiences

Interesting. The fact they are called “Distillery Labels” suggests some agreement around those rules
Or maybe something grandfathered in like the way Cadenhead can still use glenlivet to denote Speyside on their labels eg Glenrothes-Glenlivet

Wow what a collection of whisky!
All for sale
Is it cheaper to mail clothes home of buy another checked bag?
We will have four checked bags already
Birth year bottle. 1954 Mortlach.
Cheap
Would grab those Kilkerran 8yo and 16yo! Not seen those on a shelf for months!
Bags are full
@@WhiskyMystery Not a bad problem to have 😂
Whoa! Kilkerran 8. Passed by G&M in Elgin this morning before they opened.
Go back later

The Glentauchers 46% was great. No Edradour shop that I know of.
Very reasonable prices, overall
Yeah. Good range
