Fantastic Dogpatch Boulders shirt, Deepa! I was randomly thinking of you, Phil, and was delighted to see that you two are still traveling and enjoying whisky. I am still working in the Virtual Reality industry, even as it's evolved over the years. I truly hope you are well. 🧡

I always enjoy your visits to the distilleries and the whiskey shops . I wish that I could pop into your luggage and join you two. fantastic show always thanks for taking us all along with you I specially appreciate you showing us the bottles and prices . Thanks again from Canada
That Springbank distilled organic bottle is really cool. Ironic how some people are ahead of their time by wanting to go back in time. Great haul, if I could only choose one to try it would probably be the Jura. I have a Chapter 7 Isle of Jura 1998 21 years old cask strength, I've had many great Scotchies these last few years, but this old Jura is truly special. My dad passed recently and I could have poured any of my "special" Springbanks, but the dusty Jura bottle called out my name and left me speechless. Cheers!
Something about standard Jura being so boring makes these IB Jura's so interesting. I hope this one is good. Sorry to hear about your dad. Time is relentless.
@@WhiskyMystery Thanks, I'm catching up on all your trip videos. This long weekend couldn't of come at a better time. I'm pouring some Deanston 18 limited release batch 2....I had to with all these Deanston bottles up on screen. hehe
The meaning of the word "blend" in that Foursquare is that the new make that was filled into the barrel was a mixture of column still and pot still rum. It's not like a blended malt because that implies different distilleries. This "blend" was all distilled at Foursquare, where it is standard practicse.
Absolutely love that the whiskies had a smattering of British sweeties, Branston pickle and British HP Sauce mixed in! Those are the things I miss from home too. Gotta love kind immigration officials. :). Hope you had a nice time with your Mum and Dad and that they're keeping well :). Great haul indeed.
Incredibile bottles and God Bless the California customs officers 👮♀️. To bring that back to Italy 🇮🇹 there is a flat tax of ca. 20% on the value. You did remarkably well enjoy 😉👍🥃
Welcome home! I picked up a cask strength (56%) 21 yo Cragganmore while you were gone, and it is terrific. I'll trade a dram of it for a dram of the organic Springbank. That one looks interesting. I'm glad you are giving Hazelburn another chance; I love the standard 10.
That Single & Single Imperial 24 is fantastic. Your friend picked a winner there. It's my favourite of the imperial I've got to try, including magic cask. I know Yossi who owns single & single he's a fantastic guy with an amazing whisky collection, he has a private bar in Cape Town with some of it. His Ledaig bottling is my favourite and his bottlings have been hits with our whisky group generally. Hope your friend really enjoys it because as far as I know that one is basically completely sold out.
That flaming heart was on sale at KL once for $99 in their weekly mailer. Got a couple extras then because I loved my first one so much and the fact you’re also still getting them makes me feel even better about that decision!
@@WhiskyMystery I got that flaming heart on sale from Internet wines for like under $70. I didn’t realize it was anything special I would’ve gotten another one.
Oh wow, you found a Da Mhile Springbank! There's certainly a unique and fun story behind these. I have two of the 20 yr old Marriage Edition from 2012. I believe it was for the marriage of John's son. I don't have your 2000 bottling. However I really enjoy the 20yr it's certainly unique and I think you'll enjoy your 8yr bottle! It would be interesting to know who filled the sherry casks and where were they matured at? Maybe Springbank filled and stored the 58 sherry barrels for John? In terms of smell and taste, I would say the Da Mhile Organic Springbanks are almost like the Local Barley editions. If you're interested, I purchased my two 20yr olds from Hard to Find Whisky for $499/bottle (free international shipping on orders over $500). They might still have a few left? I probably sound crazy for spending that much, but it's certainly a unique 20yr Springbank! Cheers and enjoy!
@@WhiskyMystery have fun comparing and experimenting with the two. I have a feeling that your organic 8yr Da Mhile will have more funky barley notes then my 20yr. The 20 yr was in a second fill sherry cask. So there's still some fun Springbank funk showing through. It would be cool to figure out where John got that organic barley from. I wonder if he grow it or sourced it? Also if the 58 casks were filled and matured at the Springbank distillery?
@@WhiskyMystery oh well, maybe it'll be better than what the reviews say. You never know until you try it for yourself. Plus not everyone has the same taste buds.

Even if you got these amount of bottles I have a whisky recommendation for you cause I think we have the same preferences and taste. Inchgower 27 Diageo Special Releases 2017. Just looking for the best way to bring bottles home. Thanks guys.
Hi Michael. So far we have not lost a bottle on four trips. Air pressure does not seem to be an issue. We use those inflatable bottle bags in between layers of clothes. Medium sized bags are better for the weight to space ratio. Customs has never been a problem. Just declare everything honestly and worst case you pay a few $ per liter. Book that trip.

I am a newbie and want to understand how the auctions work.If my bid wins for a particular bottle, means that I need to pick it up in UK? Which auction sites do you recommend?
I use Scotch Whisky Auctions. If you win with £100 bid you will pay 10% fee on top + 3% insurance and then the shipping. They ship to many countries but it is expensive and better to have at least six bottles in one go.
