Totally agree. 6000km on the ktm and it's precise like hell in the twisties (especially with new road attack3). The top speed is an interesting factor on highway and track but this bike is done for mountains and '80km/h' road. A total pleasure. Switch ! 👌
Hi Pawel, could be 2 reasons for that that I remember. 1. The Duke was due a service soon. 2. We had been doing wheelies and burnouts on it and removed traction and wheelie control and that brings up the spanner icon if I remember correctly. Thanks, Aaron 😁
I used to have a K8 600 identical to your 750. Sold it and ended up with a 2019 Duke and have absolutly no regrets. I still miss the gixer, and it's better looking, but for all day hooliganism the duke trumps it every time. Keep both and you'll have my ideal garage haha. Cheers
@@KnoxArmour Its a really great choice. You'll be faster on it through the twisties. Do what I done and try and find a new 19 or 20 model 790. The 890 has a little bit more power but less electronics (like no track mode). The 890 R is not really worth paying the extra if you can save 3.5k with a 790.

Naked bikes are just better for the road.power where you need it and upright ergos. sportsbikes need to be wrestled to perform, and for that the track :-)
For me it was the choice between the 790 or 2019 636.. rode both and would say the 790 was quicker on public roads and it had more instant punch but I just didn't fall for the looks ! Hence i own the zx6r 636.. in the real world tye 790 is a better bike and easier on my back.. if i had the money id have both 👍

My point is that the race was not fare since the bikes have about 30bhp difference.

Watching it after your review of KTM 890 Duke , and in my opinion 790 Duke looks far better and more premium as 890 Duke in the White paintscheme looks plasticy.

Of course wheelie control helps but People have been riding without wheelie control for ages and YES it can be done without it! That Suzuki would tear that KTM a new one! There were several runs, including ones where the Suzuki got a decent launch instead of a big wheelie. How convenient that you only mention the first race...
Just unlock a little bit of those giant inline 2 pistons up to 12000 rpm u won't see a Suzuki 750 anywhere near to duke thats the reality in the same way KTM stock factory settings bike lack behind also
The electronics are so incredible on the Duke that it got beat by a 12 yr old or so suzuki motor design with no electronics. U cant really compare these bikes. But Noone ever says the 750 makes great torque but it sure didn't get smoked off the line by the duke.

K8 to LO 750s were my favourite. Had a 2010 model and couldn't fault it. Best sports bike for British roads IMHO 👌
