Thanks you, it worked for my 2008 Impala, didn't have heat when in park, took no more than 20 minutes to correct it, saved me a hell of $ and time going to a shop. Well appreciated.
Thank you very much! I am totally a non-mechanical person but I found these instructions so easy to follow and you saved me a lot of money taking my impala to a garage. The only thing I would add is to warn people when taking off the cap the first time is to watch out for the nasty rusty sharp thing that sticks out and holds some part in place near where you twist the cap. After I stopped the bleeding from that, the rest was easy (it took me a plumber's wrench to be able to loosen the cap the first time, so not quite no tools).
Y’all are awesome! Worked perfectly. I tried to do another video where I had to leave the cap off and get a large funnel and let it run, ended up getting antifreeze everywhere. This worked great, no mess, and my heater works perfect again! (06 impala 3.5)
I have an 06 Monte with the 3.5. I think this may help me as well. Did you do this procedure with the engine cold? Or was it a little warm. It's hard for me to do it first thing with my hours. Thanks...
This worked for me! 2010 Impala and had a new radiator installed this spring. Never had to really run the heat until just now and only had a little heat when driving. Followed this video and it blows really hot at idle now. I ended up putting at least half of gallon in after bleeding it several times. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this video. I have an 06 Monte 3.5 that has never had an issue with it's coolant system until recently. My original radiator and water pump were both recently replaced after they started to leak. I had virtually no heat after which caused me to stop back at the shop. Still was sporadic until I followed these steps. Now the heat works perfectly. Even at idle. Hopefully that's it for me. Thanks again.
I totally agree with this procedure. After, please do the burping procedure, there is more air in it. Once, you see coolant starting to raise and don't see air bubbles, you are complete.
Why did you over fill the over fill bottle the max fill is way lower then that if you look on the side of the bottle you will see a arrow that points down to the max level. That is about 1/4 from the bottom very miss leading video. So did i miss you guys doing bleed or what most people call it a rad flush.
Thank you so much this is a perfect video. Very to the point while also being thorough. Will try this on my wife's car hopefully it fixes the heat. Her car will only kick out heat from the vents if the RPMs are up/gas pedal is engaged. Hope this fixes it!
My 2013 doesn't have this fill point on it. It only has the reservoir and the pressure cap is there. Will the same principle apply with the starting and stopping of the motor through the reservoir?
I have an 08 Impala LS. This helped my situation. But I have a question regarding the reserve tank on the 08 Impala. The Reserve Tand has an line with an Arrow pointing to a line at the bottom of the reserve tank where there is a line. Do I only fill to that level after doing this procedure ? Or do I fill the reserve bottle all the way up to the DEX-COOL Symbol at the top ?
I was only gettin heat when the engine was revving above idle. Found out the tubing from the fill valve to the reservoir tank was kinked, therefore not allowing air to escape. Blowing hot at idle now the winter wont be so bad
With my 2011 the temperature gauge will run about halfway up then suddenly jump to the top of the scale and the warning will tell me to idle the engine. i have tried a number of ways to bleed the system but none have worked so far.. Where i live the temptress get up in the 110 degree range.during the summer and when this happens. i have tested the thermostst and the water pump seem to bee working fine.
IM WORKING ON 08 IMPALA WAS OVER HEATING AND CHANGED T STAT AND IT JUST NOT BLOWING HOT AIR THO.. IM DOING A COMPLETE FLUSH RIGHT NOW AND HOPE IM DOING IT RIGHT. YIKES
What codes did the tester show for this troubleshooting. I had Maxi Muffler to check out my Malibu and they Ripped me Off, . The car would run great until it got hot, then it would lose power. They changed the fuel pump and charged $700.00 dollars and then changed the accelerated switch and then changed the Throttle position sensor and mass air flow sensor and both oxygen sensors and oil temperature switch. They totalled up 1800 dollars worth of gas parts and the car still does the same thing..it took me 20minutes to find out what was wrong with it. The coil pack was totally fouled on every cylinder and all showed red fire and weak in every way..Any advice on how to make them Eat All the Guess what part it is and Rippe Em off. Great Video Guys! Quick question, I have a 3.8 liter 2006 buick lucerne, I would assume I Could this procedure with my car, it has the same type of radiator cap? Thanks guys!
My 07imapala has a temp hand that go up and down it usally stays one line over half way drove it 3hrs that way no problem but now it sounds up fast and its scary no lights on at all also heat or a.c. does not work wat should I do ?
This might help. The heater core lines are at a strange height and tend to retain air near the firewall on the drivers side. This is a fairly common complaint with this model. I have had to disconnect the upper heater hose, cap the metal line and apply vacuum to the open hose to draw out the air. Once you have good coolant from the hose, reconnect the hose to the pipe. Ops check your heater. Never let the coolant recovery bucket run out. This is when air gets sucked into the system.
i just had this happen to me on my impala what it is that your over flow bottle is probably empty just put more anti freeze in just to the line at the bottom of the bottle not like this guy just showed he has his it way over full. It is a over fill bottle and if it is full then their is no room for more to go into it.
Yes. Do this and then fill the overflow reservoir. Put enough in overflow reservoir that it's a few inches above where the hose comes out.. My car had same problem cold air at idle and hit while driving and this fixed it. it likely just lost or burnt off a little coolant over the years and there's air in the system.
Thats probs wjy my coolant is backing up into resivour .all i did was replace thermostat and filled it up wiyh coolant without taking out the air.damn.
I did an engine swap on my impala a few months ago, had to completely fill the system then, had no issues. And then had to dump it again recently to do a thermostat. What is the issue this is supposed to be fixing because it’s given me no trouble both times and I never bled anything
Bullshit! That is not how to bleed your cooling system! First of all once u start filling the radiator u don't turn the engine off.u fill unroll u see no more bubbles! Trying to look and sound professional does not get the job done correctly! Phonies!
Hi Ronnie! There are definitely multiple ways to get the job done, but for the purposes of the videos we stick to the official OEM steps which have you shut off the engine between each stage.
Thanks you, it worked for my 2008 Impala, didn't have heat when in park, took no more than 20 minutes to correct it, saved me a hell of $ and time going to a shop. Well appreciated.

Unless I'm mistaken, the coolant was never bleed. It just showed the refilling of the coolant.
Hello!
The bleeding starts ~ 2:30
@@LemurMonitors hahaha
I thought bleeding means to drain out. There was no draining in this video
@@qbconnect
bleed doesn’t mean drain, it’s not referring to the antifreeze, but the air that may have gotten in their, no air allowed☝️☹️

U never warmed up engine with heater on to let coolant go into engine block, am I missing something?🤔
Shouldn't you Jack up front end so bubbles float out
Not a bad idea, might help out with air in a few hoses.

It only gets warm when accelerating. When it’s idle it blows cold air. Will this fix the problem?
Most likely
Very helpful
Thank you really helpful 😊
Heat only working, when I'm moving. Should I start this process? Had the thermostat and coolant sensor replaced.

Is there no bleeder valve on the 07 chevy malibu ?
If the cap is on tight will it still bleed?
Do I need to make the front up and should the motor be cool when I start out
My didnt work, is there anything else anyone can recommend me doing?
what was the problem? this didnt work for me either, maybe actuator doors in vent are not opening & closing properly?
Thank you it worked

Dexcool for GM

This has to be a common problem in getting 0 heat at idle
You should do a 95 ss Impala 5.7
Not the first person to ask that, but the 95 doesn't OBDII so don't think we will ever do that , but you never know.
Thanks I have heat now!

Pretty much anything related to poor cooling system performance - overheating, lack of heat in the cabin, etc
DEX-COOL is bad :(
i switched my 07 out in 2017 with universal yellow
Why did you switch it out ?

But I’ll piss off my neighbors if I do this with my 06 Monte Carlo as it’s dual exhaust with no mufflers is loud LOL
