Wow, this is the best! I can't send it fast enough to my daughter who buys this for her 5 yr old who is dairy intolerant. I hope she takes this information and ditches the almond milk!
It's not the dairy itself that is the problem... There are three issues that people may have with cow's milk. One is the lactose, as only certain populations are genetically adapted to digest it into adulthood. Another is the size of the fat globules; because cows are so much larger than we are, the fat in their milk is a much larger particle than the fats in our own milk, and some - particularly babies - can have issues digesting those globules. The third is the protein type. Most dairy cows are type A1, and many people don't tolerate it well. If you can get milk from a dexter or a miniature jersey, you'll get the type A2 which pretty much everyone can handle. Also if you can get milk from one of these smaller cows, you also solve the fat globule problem, as those are much smaller in these smaller cows. If your daughter can find it, she can also try goat or sheep milk. I have never heard of anyone unable to tolerate either of these, except for those who just can't stomach the smell and taste of the goat's milk.
The skins of almonds have lectin in it which causes leaky gut.... i just finished telling a woman at costco about the dangers of plant milk... then this pops up.... thanks for the video doc.
Yes, about $3 for a half gallon and no canola oil in the ingredients. I have trouble with lactose otherwise I would likely not bother with it. But I use it sparingly here and there as a substitute. Contemplating making my own so I know the ingredients going into it.

I used to drink that shit. I’m so glad by discovering carnivore,I learned differently…when I was doing keto that is what I drank every day practically.!!
Thankfully I got a spot here in FL that sells raw milk for "animal use only" but its the same exact half or whole gallon jug like it comes in at stores that I buy. It's pricey at $15/gallon but I only limit myself to 2 cups per day to last me a week. It's so incredibly creamy and good.
I think the term milk is part of the problem. But it sounds better than juice. There are folks that are allergic to milk who need alternative creamy products. One could make their own coconut or almond "milk" at home without the additives. Another reason that some lean toward these products are calorie restriction diets. I'm not advocating, just offering a different perspective. Thanks for this good information. As a former dairy farmer, raw milk is very good.
The almond is nut form though and some refers as fruit . The nut is source of plant .where Milk a animal product. Soya is a plant but is similar to milk
Referring to your friend Zoe Harcombe, the real term for saturated fat should be stable fat. I think I speak for others, we appreciate your uncommon common sense.

The REAL discription is "DRINK", not MILK or JUICE. Whenever watet is added to ANY fruit or vegetable to make it drinkable, it's called "A DRINK". Lot's of people are confused as to the definition of MILK, JUICE, and DRINK.
I also switched from high carb cow milk to UNSWEETENED low carb almond milk a few years ago and feel great. I wish he’d at least mention the UNSWEETENED versions. Also, that exact product he’s holding up is $3.29 at Aldi, not $8.
Have you ever heard of Almond Cow? I use this device to make plant milk, usually cashew milk. No additives and taste great, much more convenient than having to go to big box stores for plant milk
Well, a few years ago I heard a Dr saying milk is 'brutalised' so much that the natural bacteria in milk is completely destroyed, and he said our bodies don't recognise the 'shells' of that bacteria, hence can cause issues. I still have milk in my coffee though, so perhaps it depends on how much milk one drinks to create issues down the road?
I've always had a particular distaste for foods that are intended to "replace" other foods. The vegans have been the worst at doing this - creating abominations like "fakin' bacon" and other meat and dairy substitutes because they are simply craving the real thing. However, to be fair, we are seeing this same thing in the carnivore community as well. Just take a look around for carnivore "bread", "desserts", and other equally crazy replacements. The human brain tends toward not accepting reality. I respect the attitude "If I want a piece of bread or bacon, I'll just eat a freakin' bacon sandwich." But I respect even more those who accept their own intentions and are honest with themselves.
Almond orchards are extraordinarily thirsty. It is an unsustainable crop. Shameful waste of increasingly scarce water in California"s San Joaquin Valley. Cream
@@robertcywes2966 What type of cream? The stuff in the stores is pasrurized. Is raw cream from dairy cows as low as 1 carb per cup? What about dairy goat milk? Is raw goat milk every bit as low? I typically use it in my coffee and scrambled eggs every day.
This video is hilarious!
The skins of almonds have lectin in it which causes leaky gut.... i just finished telling a woman at costco about the dangers of plant milk... then this pops up.... thanks for the video doc.
The almond skins aren't in the milk or it would be brown or at least tan coloured
I'm rolling in the floor laughing. Great message, great video!
$8? I get it for only $2.44 at Aldi. Same brand. And I don't see any canola oil listed on the ingredients.
I live in Hawaii and it cost about $12.
Yes, about $3 for a half gallon and no canola oil in the ingredients. I have trouble with lactose otherwise I would likely not bother with it. But I use it sparingly here and there as a substitute. Contemplating making my own so I know the ingredients going into it.
cyanide¿ how¿
@@victoriafisher6934 I think sweet almonds (the type that most people eat and that you buy in the store) contain negligble cyanide levels. Not enough to cause concern. However, I do worry about the phytic acid in them though.
Not in California, oh, Cali prices have gotten out of hand.
❤you are so right. I got so sick and ended up in hospital with 22 hours of throwing up. Omg. Was a horrible experience. Stay away from it. Poison is what it was.
I never liked the idea of almond milk but was convinced to try it by Keto Chow videos. Had one glass of it and thought, "Yuk! People like this stuff?" It's going straight into the garbage tomorrow. Thanks Dr. Cwyes for telling us the truth!
You can put the keto chow in the garbage too.
WHY DID YOU WAIT TO THE NEXT DAY
It's ok cause you're all vacxed and boo sted 500x. Also got free ice cream with the boo.sters. diabetic inducing sugary ice cream. Congratulations 👏
Ahhh. Duh, that’s what cyanide poisoning smells like almonds. I’m pouring out the almond “milk “ that I have. Thank you! Blessings
Excellent video & sharing away.
The canola oil gets me sooo sick 😭
Any seed oil makes me ill. Nasty stuff.
Me too - makes me feel really ill.
Two years after switching to almond milk I had very real stone problems and they ripped my gallblatted out of me as if it was a life and death thing. Now the traditional gallblatter problems are all mine for the rest of my life. Wonder If this was the actual cause that going back to real milk could have cured.
Milk has too much sugar
Same goes for soy milk...
Soy mimics estrogen and causes prostrate cancer in men and breast cancer for women...
I appreciate you doctor. Much respect to you sir!!
I never touch the stuff.
Excellent presentation!
Any healthy suggestions for people who are legit allergic to dairy? Thanks for the video.
I eat primarily plant based, but do eat the occasional chicken or fish. I believe this video to be true. I started drinking protein shakes for breakfast starting 2 or 3 weeks ago, and used almond milk as the base. Since then, I have noticed pain in my joints and have been feeling sluggish.
Great video…funny and informative
I used to drink that shit. I’m so glad by discovering carnivore,I learned differently…when I was doing keto that is what I drank every day practically.!!
Not to mention that it's super high in oxalates. Almonds also require a great amount of water to grow.
You are right.
Good on you Doc ....
Thank you very much!
Califia brand almond milk contains only 3 ingredients: almonds, water and salt.
I'm making my own almond milk , have the past week, organic almonds.
Try an organic cow.
@@robertcywes2966😂❤
Organic almonds still have cyanide and probably other toxins.
How do you remove the cyanide?
I'm a long time vegetarian, and I have never ever liked almond milk, it tastes gross to me. I'd rather, and do, consume almonds!
Referring to your friend Zoe Harcombe, the real term for saturated fat should be stable fat. I think I speak for others, we appreciate your uncommon common sense.
Yes!
Raw full-cream milk from cows, it's the best of the best.😋👍
But how does this affect cholesterol if one has high cholesterol?
DRINK MODERATELY MY FRIEND ☮️‼️
I made my own soy 'milk' for a number of years also. It cooked up naturally white. It looked like real milk, maybe just a bit yellowish.
In some Canadian provinces hard drugs are not criminalized and available at injection sites. Just nuts.
As someone with a dairy allergy, I'm thankful for almond milk. I have the same awful reaction to raw cow milk, raw A2 cow milk and raw goat milk so all I have left is almond milk.
Make your own, though, and it will be sooo much better for you.
Try rice milk?? I find it has less crap in it. You can also make that yourself.
I'm in Australia so I can only recommend Australian brands
They make *Lactaid" milk now. I love it. And it comes from a cow!!
@@angelaharris1112 I'm not lactose intolerant. I'm allergic, lactose free milk still has the protein in it that causes my allergy.
Organic, pesticide free, and no crappy additives would be nice, but these are abundant. I wish you well, whatever you consume.
Interesting information!❤ thanks!
Your videos give me so much joy
Well said and it should be said often.
Hilarious, I got an Oatly add before the video 😂.
Sally K Norton discusses how terrible almond farming is for the environment but she didn’t even touch on the bee killing. That is an eye opener . Kumbaya
The REAL discription is "DRINK", not MILK or JUICE. Whenever watet is added to ANY fruit or vegetable to make it drinkable, it's called "A DRINK". Lot's of people are confused as to the definition of MILK, JUICE, and DRINK.
That's why it's important to make your own Almond milk at home from scatch
What is the best option if you’re dairy free due to the lactose?
Get lactaid.
Agree, I'm lactose intolerant too. I drink full fat Lactaid milk. Love it!
Plain, full-fat Yogurt and Kefir. Lactose is naturally converted to Lactate through fermentation.
@@rule870Also good for gut health!
LOLL your face after mentioning the canola oil 5:28. exactly my reaction too
It's ok cause you're all vacxed and boo sted 500x. Also got free ice cream with the boo.sters. diabetic inducing sugary ice cream. Congratulations 👏
Liked that bit!
Haw about the Almond Milk Costco is selling ? Please let us know 🙏🏽 in USA very food has to be checked it is not real it makes us sick
I respect the attitude "If I want a piece of bread or bacon, I'll just eat a freakin' bacon sandwich." But I respect even more those who accept their own intentions and are honest with themselves.
the audacity of the product called Just Egg...
I get local raw milk and cream, they are absolutely fantastic. Wyoming doesn't prevent you from eating what you want.
I'm allergic to all dairy. On occasion I use Almond milk. The brand I drink has only almonds and water.
Milk is for cows offspring not for human consumption but you made some good points.
Totally agree 💯
Where are the harmful oils used in almond milk displayed? I’ve tried looking at ingredient labels and it doesn’t seem super apparent
Almond orchards are extraordinarily thirsty. It is an unsustainable crop. Shameful waste of increasingly scarce water in California"s San Joaquin Valley. Agree it would be better for people and the planet to return those orchards to grassy fields where cows, chickens, and pigs could grow and provide healthy food for humans.
some grasses for cows i hear are sprayed with chemicals for this and that
Thank YOU!!!!!
Great rant. Now if my oldest would only listen.
OH, and the same with "dairy creamer" what on EARTH is that stuff? Sold in those heavy plastic containers as well, full of who knows what makes a liquid white and last forever. As you said, YUM!
Do i really need to say, "Read labels?" Some of us cannot tolerate dairy.
