Adam, I have watched a lot of language review videos. Your video is one of the best I've ever watched. Thank you, for breaking everything down. Keep up the good work!
Wow, thanks! DEFINITELY have more language content coming. I've had some big language breakthroughs lately that I'll cover in future videos, and I intend to do interviews in other languages as I travel.
Not really - I mainly use an iPhone 11 Pro and a pair of $25 wireless mics. Some of my videos have very low quality (even using my macbook's webcam) but I'm trying to film 60 fps now.
Well, I've used both apps a lot for Thai. I found Mondly more accessible and enjoyable at the beginner to lower intermediate level, but I feel my progress kind of plateaued and now I'm using Ling more. The interface on Ling feels clunkier but I like the dialogue review mode a lot. I'll listen to a dialogue, then read it, then read and listen, and only use a translation as I need it. So yeah, if you're just starting a language or having trouble getting your head around it I'd start with Mondly. But if you're getting near intermediate then maybe Ling.
Nice video. I use Mondly a lot and my favorite feature for speaking practice is the hands free mode. It can be very challenging especially if your phone is in your pocket and you can't read it or scroll up while you are being quizzed.
I signed up for the advanced course in Mondly and yet the daily are basic. I sill get phrases like, "Yo bebo té." (I drink tea.) The daily lessons are not a challenge and after two years of doing the daily lessons, I find the same material gets repeated, "Do you see a bear." Nothing advanced about it.
I am using Mondly to study French, along with some other language training applications. I don't understand the levels. I don't mean beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I mean a numerical number that appears at the top left hand part of the Mondly page. For example, I am currently at level 19 with 19054 points. What does that mean?
True. I told them that although I signed up for advanced material but keep getting basic, they suggested I pair there course with reading actual books. Their whole advanced course in Spanish has the exact material as the basic.
Mondly is absolutely terrible. Do not waste your time or money with it. Words you pronounce correctly for months suddenly are wrong, and you practically have to scream at the app to get it to hear you properly.

@@AdamSavagelandLooking forward!
Do you have a video detailing the gear you use? Particularly the camera you use.

Is Mondly better than Ling? How do they compare?

Thanks - I've used the hands-free mode in Mango Languages but not Mondly... I'll give it a try!

I think it's just a gamified point system and doesn't affect any of the material you're shown. I would ignore it and focus on learning.
@@AdamSavageland Thanks.
What do you think of Mondly verses Babble?
I haven't tried Babbel.
The support is awful. They don't respond to issues. You're own your own.
I have to agree, they replied to my issue but it remains to this day
