You didn't mention one important thing: Mondly is one of the very few language apps that are also offered as an app on the Mac computer. I think that's very important, because it's much easier to study and learn on a laptop.
Thanks for the review. Mondly seems like a great resource. Love the attempt to dive into VR. It would be nice for other language apps to do that. Maybe a city exploration app where you enter common locations and do particular things (order a meal, book a hotel, buy a bus ticket, etc.).
here I'm missing that it just testing your vocabulary. I'm learning better with short lessons that I have to repeat multiple times. The testing is here to short
Awesome Mondly review! Daily lessons, drills and exercises sound great. Really like the consistency and constant engagement. Eduardo is a Rocket Man, but is very interested in exploring Mondly. Thanks TPI!!
Thanks for reviewing Mondly. I'm going to Barcelona in April and want to know a bit more Catalan for this visit and Mondly is one of the few that offers Catalan.
Hi John, thank you for the content. I would like to learn spanish and keep my french at a good level. I'm Brazilian, so it's super useful to learn spanish, as all the others countries in Latin America speaks spanish!
Awesome review, as per usual. I like how you can jump between pins. Freedom in areas of study makes all the difference. I'm generally a person who generally like to learn new stuff, but without this freedom I turn into a sulky 10 year old who procrastinates their homework to death. Choosing what my eyes focus on is so basic. Feeling completely involved and excited by what I learn is the fun part, especially when it comes to languages.
Thank you for this video! I’ve been really wanting to learn a new language, specifically French, and finding your videos has been a massive help in choosing what app to use. I believe that French is the fit for me because it may have application in the future, and I have personal interest in learning it. Thanks again!
It's amazing how much value you put in grammar study. Nobody learns to speak their native language through grammar study, and many people never study grammar in their lives and still have no problem speaking their language, as grammar is picked up intuitively.
I want to learn spanish so that I can communicate better with people within healthcare. This is a great way to connect with others through communication which is key!
What Language do you want to learn and why? Spanish. I grew up around a lot of Spanish speaking neighbors. Their culture is very rich, warm, and vibrant. I have learned a good bit in school and at work when engaging with patients who’s primary language is Spanish. Knowing Spanish helps me with the language barrier and offer’s a peace of mind to patients who are not fluent in English.
Excellent video learned a lot about Mondly. But I am looking for something which gives in dept learning. I'm learning Greek but Babble doesn't offer Greek. Which platform would you recommend which has a good variety of languages, is good but also includes Greek, thank you.
One has to realize that children learn a language a lot faster than adults because they do not have grammar hang-ups. It is worth thinking about it instead of considering the lack of intensive gammar lessons as a con.
I would like to learn Tagalog. I just married a Filipino and would love to speak to my new in-laws in their native language. Thank you for this great review!
Hi can I get lifetime account an use it on my iPhone and computer. Or must I get an account for multiple devices? TXS for video. Great help to find a app that is good for me. Greeting for Belgium and I hope to learn Portuguese and move to Portugal.
Hello and thank you for the great review. I was wondering how others felt about using duolingo and mondly together? I mostly want to try mondly for the vr since I have an occulus, but I like duolingo's fast game like repetition. I hear, for some, that is a con, but I think and feel it's a pro to help things stay in my memory. Have a great May 2024
I'm trying to learn Spanish as I have a friend who's moved to Colombia, and I'd like to go and visit him, but be able to make my way without needing him there to translate for me all the time.
I want to learn Portuguese because i want to go in portugal for erasmus and i will stay for 1 year. So i want to go there knowing already something about the language
Personally I prefer Busuu to Mondly and Babbel, Pimsleur & Rocket are better, particularly the last two. The main selling point for me of Mondly is their lifetime, all languages bundle which you can often get for
This is really helpful. I've been learning Ukrainian in Duolingo but find it's a bit basic; not rigorous enough. I really need something more serious. Still looking.
This app is not good when it comes to learning Asian languages IE Japanese/Korean they want you to spell words which make no sense when the country doesn't even use romaji they will use their own characters .
The translation is horrible. They change the meaning of words without warning and at random and that way we lose score. It makes me furious. I don't recommend.
Hey, I thank you so much for making this video! it was super cool! Your video explained the pros and cons of the app really well. I liked how you talked about the features and how it compares to other language learning apps. Do you think Mondly is better than Duolingo? I've been using Duolingo, but I'm curious to try something new. Keep making awesome videos!
I much prefer Mondly to Duolingo. I like the heavy use of pictures to keep things fresh and the fairly short lessons make it easy to get in each day. Also, Duolingo really messed things up for me when they changed from their simple tree design to one endlessly long path.

Yeah those kind of interactive experiences would be awesome
it helped me a lot when I started learning spanish. You didn't mention the hands free mode, where you just "talk" to the App, best mode in my opinion.
Great point! Thanks for watching :)

Absolutely. Thanks for sharing!
They have AR and VR too? That’s cool
I like the look of Mondly. Kind of looks like Duolingo in a way. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for this video! I’ve been really wanting to learn a new language, specifically French, and finding your videos has been a massive help in choosing what app to use. I believe that French is the fit for me because it may have application in the future, and I have personal interest in learning it. Thanks again!
No problem at all! Glad we could help, and good luck!

Great review. Seems like a solid choice for learning a new language.

Aha i know

Exactly! Thanks for watching

@@TestPrepInsight that is correct. I did get lifetime account. And it works on all devices. 👌
Glad to hear it!
Pearson Edexcel is a UK exam board company for schools
They also do international exams. They don't all the languages from the app in their exams though.
Italian. Would like to visit Italy some day.
Great call :)
How does it compare to jumpspeak?
Great review 👍
Whats's the best app for checking your pronunciation?
Maybe Pimsleur, or Rosetta Stone
I still have a few months left on my subscription, I will probably check it out
Good call! Thanks for watching!
I’ll have to check it out.
Can i learn more than one languange in the same term?
I am learning french since I have Moroccan friends and I want to talk to them in french

On phone and on tables there is the hand-free tool. With this you van do every lesson and even the daily by speaking only.

Which language are you looking to learn?
@@TestPrepInsight haitian creole and slovenian in some months

@@TestPrepInsight do you know anything about mondly anouncing new languages?
If they have a Japanese course, it's worth a try. Thanks.
Great review
Thank you
I thought I was missing something about this app for grammer. Your review clarifies it. There is no grammer game in it.

I want to learn Spanish because I want to be able to communicate more effectively with some of the parents of my students.

thanks for the video!
My pleasure!
But is the lifetime access plan really lifetime? or if they add more content, those who bought the lifetime plan won't have access.
Lifetime users get the updates - at least so far I have
Yes, I purchased this app years ago when it only had 20 languages. I now have access to 40 languages and did not have to pay anymore.
Personally I prefer Busuu to Mondly and Babbel, Pimsleur & Rocket are better, particularly the last two. The main selling point for me of Mondly is their lifetime, all languages bundle which you can often get for

Any city or region in particular?
I hate mondly because its a Pain to cancel a Subscription
This seems to be the only app that teaches Afrikaans so guess I’m using it lol
haha good luck!
I don't recommend Mondly because all of their courses are the same course created by AI with lots of incorrect translations.
Eww. Owned by the scammers who call themselves Pearson? No thank you.
German!!! oder Deutsch!!!
I want to learn Ukrainian because of the old and amazing culture of the country ❤
A dude who says “ex cetera” while claiming authority regarding a language app is kind of funny
Mondly is a glorified phrasebook. Assimil is die beste.
