I'm of the mind he didn't fully close the gap, but partially returned for his own fall. However, the problem with assuming that this double stats Netero doesn't make a difference in the fight is that while Meruem could see the tiny paths and half ideas that left gaps in Netero's defense, being TWICE as fast at striking would turn those windows into things that may literally be unexploitable by The King. Yes, Hypersonic doubled doesn't change speed categories, but flying at Mach 4 and Mach 8 are different beasts to react to. Even doing the absolutely negligible damage Netero was doing would eventually wear down Meruem, and marginally increasing the battering while severely decreasing his gaps that can be taken advantage of is likely enough for Netero to either kill Meruem or for Meruem to develop a technique/just leave because the fight isn't worth it and Chairman Netero can't one shot him or even likely run him down.
Netero, after spending his time training back up, referred to himself as half as strong as he'd been in his prime. Seems it is, but it seems more like Emission & Manipulation too me The Buddha statue is made of his raw Nen formed in the shape representing his ideals, not a conjured item And the immense amount of aura needed to emit this statue comes from his true affinity as an enhancer Plus enhancement for the physical component of the technique as the statue is only propelled to such power by the speed of his physical prayer an following hand movement So think it's an Enhancement, Emisssion, and Manipulation ability
I think this makes Netero absolutely terrifying. Assuming he uses Conjuration and Manipulation, he’s using his 2 weakest men attributes (given that he’s an enhancer) and he still whoops ass with it. Hell, even if it’s emission and manipulation, that’s still not his strongest attribute. If he crated a technique that properly played to his strengths, and properly used his martial arts mastery, he probably could’ve beaten Meruem in an actual fight (though it would still be very close ofc)
@@lmntlbreakdown7202 why can't it be a combination of Enhancement to make it more powerful and enhance it in other ways. Manipulation to control it. Emission for the energy emission and then conjuration to create its shape.
Honestly i js realized man speed scaling is so wack because in anime the physics are different, like u telling me when netero somehow was able to move fast enough to be invisible while having to likely use the walls around him on that FREAKIN BOAT and there was absolutely no damage to the surrounding walls and dawg is just able to defy innertia? Bc like how he stop behind them, standing straight up without literally barrling through them or into the wall in front of him his feet could not possibly have a grippy factor strong enough for the friction of his feet against the floor to be able to stop his body moving at speed that fast. God damnit i love anime frick psychics
Hey man that’s the best part of anime and the community. Whenever somebody defies physics, instead of questioning the science behind it, we just count it as another impressive feat. Lmao
@@bleachkid44agreed. It isn't just anime. In pretty much all comics supposed regular mundane materials take on properties that range from more frail than reality to ridiculously strong as convenient. It would be really hard to lift huge objects with normal sized hands, the material would fall first. Heck, getting sufficient friction with the ground would be impossible for characters weaker than this. In that sense random flying fights are both less and more realistic, depending on what you consider. Fun to think about.
The Rose Bomb was more than enough to kill every living being in the vicinity of the explosion bc of the extreme radioactive exposure. The Royal Guards never increased his survival rate at the very least. It's not fair to say that it wasn't enough.
I dont understand how you can call Meruems state after the rose "survival", in the sense that you count it towards his durability. Before his royal guard got there to fully revive him, he would have died where he laid. As an analogy, 50 cent was shot 9 times and "survived." Is he bullet level durability? The state he was in after being shot would have killed him had he not been rushed to get medical treatments. Your durability logic doesn't make sense to me unless the state you're reduced to after an attack is something you can survive without a massive amount of outside help.

If i fear Spider, set an Activation-Requirement to be 'touch a spiders' and then go to Therapy, HAVE I BEEN SMART? OR HAVE I BEEN DUMB?
I feel like that's mostly because he was still kinda alive. The 50 cent analogy you used doesn't work that great here because he was still shot and sustained the same damage as anyone would. Meanwhile meruem kinda survived a bomb that can evaporate a city. He had like 4th degree burns but if that's all he got from such a powerful attack then it's pretty darn hard to kill him. Basically the use of him kinda surviving isn't about the fact that youpi and pouf helped him. It's that he didn't instantly die after getting hit by such a powerful blast and was still alive enough to breath, drink and even kinda talk
I love Netero’s moveset cuz not only does he have tons of restrictions (he always has to do the prayer motion, if he moves spots the statue disappears, and Zero hand completely drains his aura) but his nen ability possibly incorporates literally every nen type except specialist (Conjures the the statue and Manipulates it, maybe Enhances it to make it stronger and faster, and Zero hand not only transmutes his aura to be “like a screaming star”, but also uses emission to fire it at his opponent.) A truly great representation of a Nen master.
My opinion is that Netero's nen ability consist of: Emission for the Budha thing Manipulation to move the Budha Enhancer for the power/speed of the strike The actual power(except zero hand) mainly cames from Enhancer category. I can say it's practically an Enhancement punch WITH Range. It's not a pure enhancer but we have to remember that the limitation he have to do to create the Budha. He have to do that motion on EACH attack, so by nen rule, that's normally severe enough, he just practically bypass it by making it super instant. So in conclusion, i think, even though he is an enhancer, the Guanyin is not reducing/squandering his potential/strength like Kastro did with his Clone ability. Netero have a well thought ability. So with Netero's physical attack and speed as basis for the Budha's strength, i can say he have a really high chance of defeating Meruem. Netero being twice as strength doesn't always means Meruem takes double damage, it can mean Netero can bypass Meruem's nen defense and deals an actual damage to his body, also with an increased speed, Meruem will not have that many chance to maneuver around. So yeah, i am confident that prime Netero can win, at least against Pre-rose Meruem.

@@kame8084 psycho is actually right if the 20 megatons is the total explosive power. If it's 20 megatons total in all directions, then a 15 degree cone or so is way, way less. Also both shotguns (loosely) and explosions (firmly) follow the inverse square law.
@@lebruhjames9007 20 megatons is the total force of the explosion. Meruem would not take the full 20 megatons, only about 5% or less. Basically a 15 degree cone of a 360 degree explosion.
Idk why he made a big a$$ video about it when manga clearly stated that meruem was a B level threat and was from the dark continent, adding the fact that prime issac survived that without harm says alot about his strength tbh.
Magumi? (Blind girl) actually helped Meruem to get better strategically. She beat his ass at that chess type game every single time. Meruem had no choice but to think outside the box to try to beat her. In a way she was the reason Meruem became the king he died as. Honestly best anime arc ever.
i think you are forgeting one thing, meruem was a chimera ant and ant have carapces. which while strong dont protect once they are breached, and while not all the chimera ant had carapaces those who did had somewhat similar external appearance to meruem so if old netero was able to almost breach it and prime netero would have breached it, i think it would have done more dmg then you might first think.

I think youre really underselling the difference in damage netero would be able to inflict with double the strength because it isn't linear like you described. I can take a punch with 3000 newtons of force and just have a bruised chest, but be pretty much fine to keep fighting, but I can take a 3400 newtons punch and that would completely cave in my ribs and I would likely be taken out of the fight. Relatively small increase of force, but with a significant increase in damage. If you were to actually double it to 6000 newtons it would probably just blow through my body Ace-style.
@@lebruhjames9007 Post Rose Bomb would obliterate Prime Netero, but I don't see Meruem tanking Zero Hand from a Prime Netero without losing a limb or two. And Prime Netero could also Rose Bomb him afterwards like he did at his old age. So no Meruem wouldn't survive the fight, but so wouldn't Netero
well this is a difficult question but if netero could be twice as fast as in the battel vs Meruem his punches would be rly rly deadly. his punches would be more like Railgun shots. i think they where near close in power in the battel but Merurem used his power more in a focusd way thats the knife part u used. Netero on the other hand used his power like an aoe and hits an bigger surface and it dealt less dmg on the surface of Meruems Body. i would say Netero would be stronger if he is in his prime and far far stronger if he would attack like an speer insted like an hammer
27:00 I don't know how to count it but 2x power =/= 2x damage. Like if you fire a bullet and then fire a second one with twice the power, the second one would go deeper than just 2x. I might be talking out of my ass, tho I think it works more exponentially than linearly.
no you're totally right, durability isn't a linear scale. There's a point where the damage you cause to Meruem would get significantly worse as you grow in strength. So let's say he got lightly injured against old Netero, Prime Netero could possibly injure him heavily or maybe even cut limbs off. It's not as simple as cutting 2x the distance through his skin.
Physics critique on your final point @27:18 there are plenty of things that when adding force, the power increases exponentially. Doubling the speed of a swinging knife =/= doubling its penetrating force; see bullets. A bullet 2x bigger does not mean it has 2x the destructive power! Edit: still agree with your point though
Yea and a big part of breaking durability is the initial threshold. See Hydraulic Presses for example. A 10% increase in force can lead from something slightly deforming to utterly exploding. This is why I think a 2x as strong Netero would do quite significant damage to meruem with his thousands of strikes causing meruem to get weaker progressively. Old netero was bruising and gashing meruem, prime netero would be doing much more than that and that might make meruems power drop quite rapidly as the fight dragged on. Prime Netero's increased strike speed & reaction time might negate meruem's pattern recognition because if you're slower than me it doesn't matter if you can predict my next move I'll just change it while I see you adjusting out of the way.
Practicing Buddhist here. It’s pronounced Bode-he-sAAHt-Vah. Guanyin (also called Avalokiteśavara) is not a goddess, nor any kind of “Heavenly Being” (Deva). A Bodhisattva is a being that has attained enlightenment, but still chooses to be reborn to guide all other living beings to Nirvana. They are “Buddhas who return” A Bodhisattva can reincarnate as anything: a human, an animal, a place, a city or settlement, a mountain, lake or a piece of art.
One thing I'd mention in terms of math here, if his aura was doubled and strength is as well. Then zero hand should, in theory, be 4x stronger since its based off both traits.
The whole rose bomb not killing meruem is a stretch Literally he was on the verge of death , and only survived due to shaiapouf giving him his life force so meruem could survive. Imagine if the bomb was 2x stronger
Agreed. I don't see how he can count Meruem "surviving" to devalue the damage. For all intents and purposes Meruem was done. He had to get healed with like sacrificing life force from another powerful being to survive it. If Meruem had no back up he was DONE.
2 things - are we sure being old actually reduces nen? because it may just reduce physical ability and its not Neteros age that reduced his nen but atrophy from disuse, albeit an irrelevant classification. The second is in regards to Mereums durability to the zero hand. As a more insect like entity is it possible that he is more durable on the outside then inside? like with a turtle shell and that once you get through his hard crunchy exterior its all just soft gooey insides? If 2x the power causes full penetration of Mereums 'carapace' it may actually be enough to be lethal acting under this assumption since the only thing that matters is breaking the armour and having enough left to slap some goop
Well Netero is an human so being that old not having training anymore due to age obviously his nen be weaker. Although the fight be a lot closer for prime netero and meurum. But the old Netero techinally have less battle experience and battle iq
As I love Netero a lot, I think his prime judging by his age wasn't enough. And in some aspects like the speed of his punch, on the mission was much faster than "Prime" Netero. And what's matter the Nen is your mental state. Which is, imo, the final battle was also his prime.
Tanjiro is the strongest character in the series. He kills the antagonist and becomes the strongest in history. And yuji is set to become the strongest since he's the direct descendant of kenjaku and sakuna.. Og manga reader here
Togashi has put clues throughout the story on how strong Gon and Killua could be and we can also base how strong prime Netero on that. 1. Uvogin wants his big bang to be as strong as an atomic bomb. His fellow spiders doubts him but also said that he's an enhancer so it could be possible. 2. Meruem would have died via miniature rose's power if it weren't for Youpi and Pouf. Pitou also stated that transformed Gon has the ability to beat Meruem which means Gon has the power equivalent to an atomic bomb. Pitou never commented the same thing to Netero. 3. Pitou couldn't cope up with Gon's speed and if we grant that prime Netero is stronger (obviously) he should be at least compared to a royal guard first. Netero could be as strong as Pitou physically in his prime but it's still not enough to match Gon/Meruem. 4. Killua has basically the same ceiling as Gon if not higher. Now Netero is said to be the only person to have fought Maha Zoldyk and lived which we could assume that they fought during their younger days. But Killua is said to be the one who has the highest potential in Zoldyk family history which means at full potential, Killua is stronger than Maha who is basically equal to prime Netero. Based on these, I would say full potential Gon = full potential Killua > prime Maha = prime Netero.
Gon was not on nuke level. Lmao The most you could literally take from that is he was equivalent to the king at that time. Which means he would die from the same nuke that hit Merueum. Just like anyone else that's ever been nuked
It is never said that gon can beat meruem, just that he is on his league, meruem defenses are way tougher than adult gons. Also, prime netero is stronger than adult gon without a doubt. You only take basic claims and try to power scale base on bs, prime netero would be stronger and faster than adult gon, and even if you say they are equal on stats, netero had decades of experience in his prime versus an adult gon with less than a year of nen fighting, netero would smoke him.
The only point you make that I think is off the mark is the damage of the zero hand when prime. A good portion of the damage would be mitigated by defense. You wouldn't be doubling damage inflicted, you'd be doubling damage outright. I agree this still likely doesn't kill but I think it could seriously damage Mereum.
My only issue is with the portions over the black rose bomb, Mereum wouldve died outright to the bomb if he wasnt saved. Mereum didnt tank the black rose. If mereum was left as a burnt half corpse in that crater i dont think he wouldve lasted for long.
We get to see prime Netero in action in his fight against Jed. Neteros's basic punches from his guanyin bodhisattva were like nuclear explosions. The explosions were similar to the rose bomb, in terms of destruction capability. If the rose bomb nearly killed meruem, he would get slammed by prime netero's guanyin bodhisattva punches.
first and also banger vid as usual edit* this guys theories are too good and also i think netero may have met up with don cause his use and thought process of nen just seems to be in another echelon entirely compared to any other hxh character (gons grandad)
The ant king was on a completely different level he wasn't even trying to fight or really harm him an still took his arm an leg while he gave everything he had to beat the king so I think prime net is in or just above gin an characters of that power but what separates him from most is his experience an nen an battle IQ
Think Netero made a binding vow, to never attack with his own hands so he can prolong his life indefinitely. That’s half of a century just to punch air.
It's pronounced Baa-duh-saat-vuh . And I believe Neteros prayers and meditations eventually made him awaken and become one with nen. He's not using it. He simply IS and it (nen) does. That's why he needs to pray before he moves if not he would have just eliminated that step (the prayer) once he achieved the speed. it's his "condition" he will give thanks to nen . No one else is devoted to nen like him. all he's doing is moving. It seems like he has a limitless supply of nen because he's not using his own reserves the nen is just responding to his prayers
I think a better speed demonstration is when he gets killua to notice his presence and then run around the whole ship and show up on the other side instantly almost
to be fair, prime netero is beyond our imagination, to quantify that is like catching a fly in a storm.. which im sure he could do, without even hurting the fly or even touching it at all.
Although we would come to a similar conclusion (which may make this meaningless), my ONLY critique is saying that the rose bomb was at least twice as powerful as zero hand but if Netero was twice as strong then it would be as powerful as the rose bomb (granting “at least”). And sure the rose bomb didn’t outright kill him but he was literally laying there dying and would’ve died if it wasn’t for Pouf and Youpi showing up. The knife analogy doesn’t fully work given you’re not just doubling tens of pounds more, you’re doubling millions of pounds of explosive power. Power we can’t even fathom. Still though, I love the video and think it’s the best when tackling the question. Anyone who disagrees please feel free to share why that’s just my take. Who knows maybe I misunderstood.
I think they first point of the video shouldn't be a praise of HxH, rather an insult to it's manga schedule... All the other serieses you mentioned there were moments where you could've stated everythibgtyou stated to HxH... But they are finished so we know the answers...
So I know this is a very unpopular opinion. But I can't be the only one who thinks the strength of the royal guards and the king was kind of lame. I really dont mind OP characters, but I just never liked the idea of a character being stronger than most of the entire world (if not all) simply by just being born OP. Especially since all of them are dead now and we are never going to see them again. Really just felt like a cheap way of finding a reason too kill of netero. And then for a random nuke too one shot the king.

@@nanner6335bro the intro was just to hype people up he never states any of that during the actual scaling. it’s honestly not a bad scaling although i believe he’s giving netero more credit in some categories than is due. but it is 100% true that meruem stated that he isn’t faster than netero’s strikes, and that netero believes he’s half as strong as his prime. i personally believe he only meant half as strong physically and maybe in ren, but in technique, i honestly think his attacks would have been more biased and easier to see thru. meruem wins regardless but this video wasn’t bad

I thought it is well accepted that Netero's technique is a combination if Conjuration and Manipulation
Seems it is, but it seems more like Emission & Manipulation too me
The Buddha statue is made of his raw Nen formed in the shape representing his ideals, not a conjured item
And the immense amount of aura needed to emit this statue comes from his true affinity as an enhancer
Plus enhancement for the physical component of the technique as the statue is only propelled to such power by the speed of his physical prayer an following hand movement
So think it's an Enhancement, Emisssion, and Manipulation ability
@@lmntlbreakdown7202wouldn’t it be transmutation then? Since emission doesn’t let you transform your aura just emit it
I think this makes Netero absolutely terrifying.

Lmao
Thats kinda why I dont like when power scalers try direct scaling feats with our world physics
@@Kyngte1 its true, at the end of the day defying physics is pretty epic
@@bleachkid44agreed. Feels redundant to hear, “well x character moved between this rock and that rock in two panels and the rocks are approximately 10 km apart which means they are this many times FTL.” If you are going to that length to try and appear scientifically accurate than anyone moving FTL is absolutely decimating the surface of whatever planet they’re on.
Do you think it's fair to say the Rose Bomb wasn't enough to kill Meruem when he needed his Royal Guard to survive?
!!!
You just explained why it was enough
@@y2ksmoothie3 Right. That's why I asked what I asked lol.

QUESTION FOR MY FELLOW FANS:
Is Nen Anti-Self-Betterment?
I mean, we all know how the Myth that Therapy is a s-h-a-m-e should go-away already,
but the Question is this:
How do Restrictions and Limitiations react to Self-Improvement and/or Therapy?
If i fear Spider, set an Activation-Requirement to be 'touch a spiders' and then
go to Therapy, HAVE I BEEN SMART? OR HAVE I BEEN DUMB?
not to mention he died of the radiation hours later anyway.
50 cent has natural buff of a defense and HP increase when bullets are used against him.
I love Netero’s moveset cuz not only does he have tons of restrictions (he always has to do the prayer motion, if he moves spots the statue disappears, and Zero hand completely drains his aura) but his nen ability possibly incorporates literally every nen type except specialist (Conjures the the statue and Manipulates it, maybe Enhances it to make it stronger and faster, and Zero hand not only transmutes his aura to be “like a screaming star”, but also uses emission to fire it at his opponent.)
A truly great representation of a Nen master.
Not to mention his mastery of basic Enhancement as seen with his non-statue strength, speed, durability, and stamina.
Nick, you're freaking me out. Every time I start a new series, or rewatch an old one you make a video on it. I started hxh yesterday.
My opinion is that Netero's nen ability consist of:
Emission for the Budha thing
Manipulation to move the Budha
Enhancer for the power/speed of the strike
The actual power(except zero hand) mainly cames from Enhancer category.
This man's math is blown my mind 😂
Man said netero trained for 5 year when in fact the narrator straight up says after 2 years he noticed a difference

Meruem would still win and specially post rose meruem 💀

The king definitely didn’t die instantly but he most certainly did not survive that poor man’s rose lol.
@@arfanik9827 Now we need someone who knows how to calculate thisしIT.

Guanyin (also called Avalokiteśavara) is not a goddess, nor any kind of “Heavenly Being” (Deva). A Bodhisattva is a being that has attained enlightenment, but still chooses to be reborn to guide all other living beings to Nirvana. They are “Buddhas who return”
A Bodhisattva can reincarnate as anything: a human, an animal, a place, a city or settlement, a mountain, lake or a piece of art.
Extremely relevant to the goat netero
I remember the time Nick cried while he was explaining meruem, I started crying myself
The real question is what his nen ability was before he went on his training journey

U think tanjiro is ?..real ?
imagine Netero age 25 had the experience of an age 110 Netero and all those abilities, now we have a fight!
The Rose bomb killed him , just slowly, like radiation does.

So a twice as powerful rose bomb could "blow off one of netaro's arms" despite killing him?
what?
Meruem circumcized Neteros leg and netero said "no" and just grew his foreskin back
Netero in his prime was the only person to ever live after fighting Maha Zoldyck
5:48 bad math
Well, your excellent videos have convinced me to give hxh another rewatch
I just realized his outro is DanTDM old intro and outro
Remember that Killua in Hunter exam said that he would kill Netero if he got serious
To be fair, killua had no idea about nen, so he was just being cocky
After netero's death, it will be more logical to pick one of the zodiacs on who's the strongest
17 min in and he failed his test. He said Killua conjures chains instead of Kurapika 😂😂😂
The ant king was on a completely different level he wasn't even trying to fight or really harm him an still took his arm an leg while he gave everything he had to beat the king so I think prime net is in or just above gin an characters of that power but what separates him from most is his experience an nen an battle IQ
If 100 people would go, only a pair of healty legs would return
4:59 The crazy thing is that Mahoraga's adaptation is a part of its universe's power system, while Meruem's adaptation is straight up purely from IQ.
Think Netero made a binding vow, to never attack with his own hands so he can prolong his life indefinitely. That’s half of a century just to punch air.
Uhm, what? Your comment made sense until you suddenly out-of-nowhere bought up 'infinite life'
It's pronounced Baa-duh-saat-vuh .
My assumption is that the mountain thing was Netero _before_ he learned Nen.

Hunter x Hunter, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer are more realistic, that is why it is just soooooo good
YES HxH CONTENT. FINALLY
Meruem only beats netero because he learns from komugi. Take away komugi and he never learns how to predict an opponent’s moves so far ahead.
Meruem would have had double dull pain
Your pronouncing of tserriednich really took me for a loop since I'm used to how @NewWorldReview pronounced it
2x the zero hand we saw? Kill him, not likely. Incapacitate I would believe.
Netero got that hashirama treatment
the Zero hand is likely Emission and Transmutation because it is clearly stated to be a blinding and bright as a star. He transmutes his aura into light
!!
That just means he got stronger off screen. Like the realization and sealing break he had with meruem but some time after the mountain off screen
Madara hearing the Naruto’s being the strongest allegations: 😂😂😂😂
his technique 100 type boddhistva is probably combination of emission, manipulation and enhancement
